If King Mario wanted a war, he would get one. It has been one week since I promised war against the Dark Fae. One week of planning and aligning all the pieces on my board to assure victory. Then he did something unexpected. Now, I have no idea which way to move. Offense? Defense? Offense? Defense? Good news? I’ve got some quality drama to keep me entertained. From the Marabella and Palo show to Bobby and Esme's return, my days have been filled. What about time with my boys though? No worries! Even in war we have time for romance. Right? At least I have my cat Lunatic. Though, I have to admit she sometimes seems more human than cat. Is there something I’m not seeing? Hopefully, we will figure it out because if not… well I would rather not consider that! Stay positive… right? I have only one rule and I plan to follow it. Always punch first.
This 53k third installment of the Vengeance series is filled with fantasy, adventure, and a ton of steamy steam. Get your fans and water bottles ready because this is going to be a hot one! Not to mention the substantial blood, violence, and swearing that we’ve come to love! Be ready for this fast paced and exciting continuation with Gray and her guards!
A note to readers of both the Red Masques & Vengeance: There will be spoilers!!! The plot lines intertwine so I am releasing both books at the same time. Feel free to pick either release but I just wanted to give you a heads up! Enjoy!

Just remember to love cats... that's not negotiable.
This whole book featured the buildup towards war. Honestly I assumed the battle would be the next book but it actually took place here and was rather anticlimactic I must say. Mario wasn’t as scary as he’d been made out to be and the battle and imprisonment was pretty rushed and blah. Not to mention after what he did to her parents I’d hoped she’d do more than . The heroine Gray continues to make new friends as Queen and I am happy to say I still like the heroine. She’s smart and follows her gut instincts particularly when it comes to trusting people. I like that she and her men all adopted a cat The guys interacting with Luna’tic was adorable especially when they were in denial about even liking her. Now that the war is over and won, seems the next thing on the agenda will be finding a way out of her engagement to the Prince of the Light Fae. 😑 I dunno these books are good don’t get me wrong but they just feel really underdeveloped. The best way I can explain it is by saying the series feels lacking. There is so much more that can be added behind the scenes to give the story depth and life, whereas it’s just so fast paced and on the surface it’s not as good as it could be. It’s also been hard to develop an understanding and awareness of who all the guys are. I think there are four of them but honestly I’m not even certain lol.
Monsters is the third installment of the Vengeance series. Again, I'm not necessarily seeing the whole point of having a third book because it just ended up being a huge disappointment. We are still talking about the war/battle coming our way and I completely lost interest in it all. Yeah, the bantering and loving between Gray and the guys made me smile (somewhat) but I was really bored with everything.
Then there's King Mario who was supposed to be this super evil guy but ended up being all kinds of lame. I mean, I definitely blame myself at this point because I was hyping it all up to myself and then everything was a let down. Ugh.
In the end, not sure what the heck the next book will bring me but I just hope it doesn't end on a dumb cliffhanger. Pretty please - don't torture me more.
This book wasn’t nearly as good as the previous. I was hoping for so much more. Grey hasn’t even bonded with all her men yet. They hardly get any alone time. The only mate this book focused on was the Jaguar shifter…I can’t remember his name.
I got bored and started mildly skimming. I hope the next book is better. But I doubt it, each book has been slightly less exciting. I am starting to become underwhelmed with this series.
On another note, this is definitely a NA series. I just don’t care for NA that much and I keep forgetting that. The sexy scenes are boring, not descriptive, and barely present. I wish these books were more fleshed out and more adult. Also, I hate it when the harem doesn’t get much time together as a unit. Since she hasn’t bonded Taylor or Ayden yet I doubt they are gonna get much time in the next book either - if it follows the same pattern.
Monsters is the third book in the Vengeance series by M. Sinclair.
The writing? Degraded. Fell completely apart. Incomplete sentences. The whole book felt empty.
The plot? Overly simplified. You expect a big finale. I mean two Fae kingdoms going to war practically demands A BIG FINALE. What were given? Shit. Utter and complete shit. I can’t even bring myself to read the next book. I know the Gray and her mates end up together. I can’t put myself through more painful story telling.
The harem? The only decent portion. Except the intimate scenes were not enthralling. I skimmed. I skimmed so fucking much.
This whole book was a disappointment honestly. Blah.
This book isn't definitely the best one of the serie. I found it boring and hesitated to stop reading it. Anyway, I persevered and the end was luckily interesting! So what is the problem with this book? At first there are too many inner monologue🙄 Gray just kept repeating the same thing about her past, her feeling for the guys, etc. After two volumes it's super boring. She continually dragged her bonding with the guys out and when she finally mated I didn't understand why she chose a guy over another🤔 Then there isn't a lot of action in this book just lot of "blah blah blah". It was disappointed and I'm a bit afraid reading the next one😅
Can’t ask for anything better with a FMC who is touch, has fab attitude and even with a dark and cruel past she still loves fierce. There’s some characters I can see having their own stories and when they all come together there is nothing stopping them. Book 1 was so dark but book 3 was so much fun even with a bit of a complication. The men are loyal, fun and all have their own traits. This series is one that just keeps on giving. Binge worthy and addictive. Must read from me 10/10
Everything was great until the end of the battle. Can you say disappointed? That's me. I'm disappointed. How did Gray, in a most crucial moment, become incompetent? Then, later, the bad guy is easily taken out? That whole thing just ruined the entire series for me. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but I absolutely hate when strong female characters turn into weaklings at the worst possible moment. I'll read on, but I'm rolling my eyes and sighing. I certainly hope this author isn't going to turn Gray into a weak, incompetent person now that she has her harem of men...🙄
Lol ok so I'm really going to have to read the series with Vegas and her men because let's be honest, she seems like a badass too! Gray has been through so much and when war finally comes to there border, there's nothing they can do but strap up and kick ass. But when the unthinkable happens it's up to her men to charge in magic blazing and save their girl. Oh and let's not forget about their adorable little cat lunatic 😉. Final book here i come!
This story just keeps getting better! I love the bond between Gray and her men. It’s so solid, understanding and full of passion, love and devotion. They would do anything for one another. This story is full of failures and triumphs, but no matter what Gray and her men stand tall despite all of the chaos surrounding them.
And can I just say how much I love the storyline surrounding Lunatic (Luna)!! Such a great turn of events that have me laughing and smiling!
This book brings about the battle that has been brewing for some time, and it certainly did not disappoint! It was intense and dramatic with a wild card I didn’t see coming.
I liked this book less compared to the first two. I felt like everything was too quiet. The author mentioned that Gray was tired thinking about how to defeat the Dark King, and that's it, she didn't really show it. And another thing that I wasn't completely sure was how accepting they were about finding out who Lunatics truly is.
Overall, it's not a bad book, but I think the author could have developed it a little bit more.
M Sinclair is hilarious she always comes up with the most woody comments and her characters just make you want to laugh until you have tears in your eyes and your belly hurts I love all her books and this is another one that hit it out of the park I can't wait to finish the last book because this series is just incredible read it you'll love it Gray is a character she is one of the best female characters I've read in a long time
I love this series. It is packed full of drama, action and suspense. It definitely has you on the edge of your seat with anticipation. The story is one that grips you from the very beginning. Gray is absolutely fantastic. She is sassy and strong. The guys are so protective and caring. They have that absolute touch her and you know. This is definitely a must read and doesn’t disappoint.
This book ties up a storyline that if you have been following the series you know. And what a close up that was!! Everything is coming together beautifully. The pace is spot on, the plot is again amazing, the characters are memorable and fun. This is just another great series by this author. I need the next book now!!
I’m really enjoying this series. I love the world building, the redemptive themes, and the sassy, but kicking queen that is Gray. Thoroughly looking forward to reading the next book!
I can't enough about this series! And getting a little peak into Palo and Marabella's story was great and gave a fuller understanding of that crazy story. And I absolutely love Lunatic, she's just soooooooo amazing
I swear if the author uses the word authentic in any form in the next book I may scream. It was used constantly and in ways that another word would have fit better.
This feels sloppy and incomplete. Things are not explained at all. No epic conclusion. Apparently there is also at least 2 other series that should co-exist thing this one which I have not read and will never read. I'm curious, but after this mess, no.
Reading about Gray and her men and everything that goes along with it has been wonderful. Getting to meet the people around her has been interesting. I've truly enjoyed it so very much.
Curiouser and curiouser. The more I read, the more I want to know. Gray and her guys. Vegas and her guys. Tamara and her guys. And you can't forget Marabella and her two. Let me tell you, I'm living in the wrong freakin' realm.
Monsters, the third book of the Vengeance series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). These books are so fast-paced, with plenty of snarky-witty dialogue to make the time go by too fast…on to the next book!
This book ties up one of the main storylines from this series in spectacular fashion leaving a few threads to be tied up in the final book of the series. A few nice twists keep the book entertaining. Looking forward to re-reading the final book of this series
I absolutely love and adore this series. For a second there I thought this was the last book but I think I was mistaken. Now I’m going to check if there is another one lol
Recommend that you read this before Vegas book 4. Loved everything about this, it includes a bonus chapter about the little lamb. Can't wait to read more. JL
