If the World ended tomorrow, who would you want by your side?

For thirty-year-old, Katherine Logan, that's an easy choice. Eli has always been there for her, and even though he is her best friend, she can't help but want the sexy as sin veteran. Chance has her camping at the start of the Appalachian Trail, when all hell breaks loose. As if the dead walking around eating people weren't bad enough, throw in two hot hikers, and Katherine's world gets flipped upside down.
Now she doesn't know if she will survive the Apocalypse, or if the three guys that have become her sole companions, will steal her heart.
One thing is for certain, the trail has never been so hot!

**This is an 18+ Whychoose Zombie Apocalypse story. Due to the nature of it being set in an apocalyptic world, there are dark themes some may find triggering.

This story has went through a major revision with a fantastic editor and any grammar issues, typos, or other problems have been corrected. The wonderful storyline is still the same, but additional dialogue has been added.

More Walking Dead than RH. It was ok... not a light read though.

This was an interesting read, just be prepared for all the atrocities that come when dealing with a full blown apocalypse. Looking forward to the RH side of things to be developed further. Just, like I said, not a light read.

Interesting but

I liked the idea of the book and the characters and direction the story took. Thr details about the virus were well thought out. However. This felt like a first draft not a ready to release book. There were a lot of typos and very little dialogue between the characters. I almost put it down several times but pushed through as curiosity got the better of me. The story has great potential it just needs another good editing and less inner monologue and more dialogue between characters. Or rather less of he told me such and such and more of him actually saying it for example.

Ok so zombie “sightless” apocalypse + RH and usually I’m in, but I just have such conflicting feelings about this book.... I want to give it more stars but the story dragged and it did feel like a cheap walking dead knock off, like the author watched walking dead then wrote a RH version using C grade characters like the Silver fox which is basically neagan from TWD. I did like the harem and the potential for sharing and the dominance play .... errr I’m just not sure. I may have to revise my decision later.
Gore value 5/5
Romance slllloooooowwww burn (which made sense at times, because who has time for sex when it’s the end of the world)

Awesome!

I love apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic novels, and this was a good one. My one problem is the dialogue between characters happening in the same paragraph. Two characters will speak within the same paragraph, making it difficult to skim and distinguish who is speaking. I plan on continuing the series.

Ella Andrews, you have gained a fan in this one.

Wasn’t great but wasn’t bad either...
Just very bland for my taste and I found MC and “her” guys not very likeable

AND no sexual tension at all !!! So it’s just very bland for my tastes

This book just comes out of nowhere and smacks you senseless. I am not a zombie buff by any means. Matter of fact, I tend to shy away from these types of books because, frankly I’m easily disturbed. I have to say though, this was the most logical explanation of zombie-ism I’ve ever heard of before! Seriously it makes so much sense I wonder why no one else has come up with it!!! That’s what drew me in but what kept me reading was the plot, how well the story is paced, the character development, the whole book, it is really good!!

Perfection

This book was so amazing. I absolutely loved that there are zombies but it was done totally different than I have seen others do. I loved the MC and that she was older and stubborn. The men where great. I loved the way they developed throughout the book. I need the next one ASAP. Can’t wait for it.

Review copy kindly provided by the author in exchange for a honest review

When I do get asked to read a book, I tend to be picky with what I accept to read in these cases. I’m more likely to go buy or borrow the book myself instead having an commitment on my shoulders. I do know my tastes are pretty well. Once in a while, I do like to push them and The Sightless was one of those books that did just that.
Lately my tastes have been leaning towards reverse harem, a genre that has been lurking around for a while but fully exploded in recent years. There has been some talented authors popping up on my radar as a result and I have been reading more new authors more than ever recently.
Andrew is one of these authors, and I was fortunate to read this book blindly. Only knowing it was about her loves and must admit , I love only knowing those two words . It helped my mind be open to anything and expect anything.
It’s all about the ZOMBIES in this book and I love the creativity employed to make this book entertaining. It won me over in a heartbeat and by the end. I was in love with the gang and walked every step beside them. I felt every emotion and honestly loved the way we followed the story from the beginning of what is becoming a weary post apocalyptic adventure fill of action and heart stopping moments.
Andrews knows how to appeal to readers. I loved the heroine and heroes were older characters that I expected. It made them seem more worldly and plausible for the story unfolding. There a great sense of build up in this novel, there is no hiding that this is a slow burn romance. Understandable with a heroine with a chip on her shoulder and three guys willing to do anything for .
It’s going to a take a while to untangled everything considering the world seems to be collapsing all around them and zombies are popping up everywhere. Don’t worry though, Andrews make sure the story move at a steady pace and allowed for more than few intriguing plots to unfold in this story.
This book changed my mind on zombies. I have nothing against zombies, I just haven’t found many books that got me hooked and entertained for hours. Until The Sightless that is. Andrews may go for the guts of the Zombie genre but she knows how to write in a way that appeals commercially to readers.
For a debut, it met the benchmark I set for debuts and more. It’s written well, engaging characters and a cast of supporting characters that only add to the story. The length of this book is perfect, there isn’t anything I would left of . It only adds to the story and shows well both sides of a world collapsing
My only problem is now who is my favourite character, because these boys and Katherine, did give us plenty to think about and that ending!!!!!!!

Flesh-eating bacteria, a vaccine that goes horribly wrong, and loose protocols for keeping the whole mess isolated. The next thing you know the dead are walking the earth and the living are their targets.
Katherine and her best friend Eli are weekend camping when the end comes. They strike out on the Appalachian Trail heading for Maine and Eli's mother. Along the way, they unite with two other hikers they had previously met on the trails. With a world turned upside-down, there is safety in trusted numbers. As they travel they encounter the worst of humanity, among the dead and the living. They also find that even during the apocalypse that their attraction can't be denied.

There's a lot to like about The Sightless. If you like the first season of The Walking Dead this will capture your attention. The Sightless are appropriately nasty, scary, and dangerous. The living even more so. The constant tension is absolutely believable. The danger palpable. The sense of hopelessness is balanced by the character's determination to survive and to make sure that the rest of their group does as well. So, the virus and the dead storyline worked well for me. It didn't work as well where the characters were concerned. I like Katherine just fine even though at times I find her unnecessarily stubborn or difficult. I love Eli and like Lukas and Jude just fine. I felt friendship between Eli and KitKat that should have already become more. I can see the love between them. I didn't feel a true connection between the other guys and Katherine. I felt like they were thrown together, got along great but that was it. I can see shared nights along the trail but not much more. Honestly, I kept waiting to find out there was a relationship between Jude and Lucas. that's where I felt the connection. I also didn't feel that the RH building blended with the dead storyline. Maybe it was the constant danger; attacks, injuries, and kidnappings disrupted any time to build relationships. Survival took the front seat! Living moment by moment can accelerate actions, speed up emotional bonds but in this case, it seemed to interrupt any momentum. Maybe this will change with the new developments occurring at the book's end. Even if there remains a disconnect for me between the characters and love, it's still an entertaining premise. I plan to keep reading and join the Army myself.

*I do not understand the cover at all for this book! She looks like an Oracle Queen, not a rotting corpse.
**Trigger warning: Violence, torture, sexual deviance and sexual assault.

I read The Sightless as part of a book reading challenge, so not my usual fare. We meet Katherine and Eli first, two long time friends who've avoided a romance. The opening chapters are slow and if not for the challenge I would have stopped reading, I'm glad I didn't. Eli talks Katherine into a camping trip and while they're gone all hell breaks loose in the form of a Zombie Apocalypse(ZA). I'm not an avid zombie reader/watcher so I can't comment on how similar it is to other ZA stories, but I will say that I really liked the premise for how something like this could happen. Our couple connects up with two other former military campers Jude and Lukas. The potential for a phalanx romance (aka RH which I refuse to use) is set up beautifully. But we only get a glimpse of what might be in this first book in the series which ends before the story is complete. So, of course, I'm planning on reading book two. I was torn between rating this book 5 stars or 3. There is a need for editing, not just proof, but some chopping, especially in the opening. But, the story is interesting, the settings are described well, and I like the characters. I will say that this is an apocalypse and the author doesn't sugar coat that AT ALL - so all the trigger warnings. Start the series at your own risk.

This book had a lot of things going for it. The concept was amazing. I don't see a lot of reverse harem zombie books, but this book was able to mesh those two concepts quite well.
The characters were well-done and believable. I really like Katherine and her men. The relationship development was believable as well, which I appreciated.
That being said, there were some things that were challenging for me. For one, the first half of the book spends a lot of time in Katherine's head, so we hear about conversations but don't actually experience them.
Also, a good pass-through from an editor would do wonders. The story had good bones, but could use a little more polishing.
And for some strange reason, Katherine kept getting kidnapped. A lot. A surprising amount for just one story.
Then there was the weird POV thing. The first 70% was all Katherine, but in the last 30% we start hearing from the guys as well. I liked their perspective, and wish we would have been able to see more through their eyes.
Overall, this was a good book, and I will definitely be continuing along with Katherine on this apocalyptic adventure.

*3 1/2 stars*

I was excited to read this because I’m a big fan of zombie books and I just started getting into reverse harem stories a few months ago. The Sightless has a good action filled storyline with characters that I really liked. I was disappointed with the lack of romance or spice considering Katherine and all 3 of the guys were very attracted to each other. They were busy surviving, but the author could have found some creative ways to add steam or romance to the story considering it was a RH. It also got annoying how much time the main character spent justifying have feelings for more than 1 guy!!! I think it would come pretty naturally/easily when all the guys are so lovable and swoon-worthy. She shouldn’t have second guessed it or felt guilty when every minute could have been their last! -I also wish that there was more dialogue between the characters and less of their inner thoughts.

Looking forward to the next book and hoping that the relationship between the characters grow as they fight to survive the sightless and Crows!

***SPOILERS***

People start to get infected with Flesh Eating Bacteria (FEB) from swimming in bodies of water with human waste. A vaccine is created to address FEB but it actually makes people brain dead and crave human flesh (living dead). This new condition is contagious through saliva. It soon takes over the country. While this is happening, Katherine and her BFF Elijah are hiking on the Appalachian Trail. They meet Jude and Lucas to decide to stick together. They face a number of challenges from infections, to sadistic humans, to kidnap, etc. The book ends with them running into what is left of the United States military and joining their ranks.

I had trouble with the pacing of this book. It's like every bad thing you can imagine happing in a zombie apocalypse happens in just a few days for them. Meanwhile, the relationship building is extremely slow. I have no idea what they can possibly put in the next book that wasn't already in this one. It was like reading the script from a soap opera.

An awesome take on zombies with some time for love on the side!

I commend Ellabee Andrews on her unusual take of a zombie apocalypse outbreak and a reverse harem scenario. It was done tactfully and tastefully, and although it was a bit slow the first 20%, it quickly took off and became a book that I was determined to finish, and so I did. The main character, Katherine, is out camping with her best friend of many years , Eli! They are enjoying themselves when they run across a couple of guys (Lucas and Jude), who are also enjoying the great weather and camping and such. Not too much later, it begins! Now if you are wondering what it is, well, you will have to read it. I don't give spoilers, and trust me, you don't want them in this story. It's fantastic in it's own unique, original way! And the ending will have you scrabbling for book 2 just as I did! Wonderful story Ellabee!!!!

My fantasy has come true

I have been dreaming of the day an RH zombie book comes out, this was a great book. I have extremely high expectations when it comes to anything zombie apocalypse and was slightly disappointed in the amount of actual zombie problems they had. It was almost all just other men being A-holes and as seriously realistic that actually is and everything it bummed me out a bit. I was also kind of bummed that of course all her men are prior servicemen, it felt too obvious. That all being said, the characters themselves were great, the bad guys were amazing and seriously evil and the new take on the zombies aka The Sightless was truly awesome. I had a great time reading this and look forward to reading what happens to Kit Kat and her soldiers three.

I thought it was pretty good. It would have been better with more Dialog and character interactions. Weeks would go by in the story and it would have been nice if there was some relationship building during that time instead of just stating that it had been weeks. It also was a bit like walking dead, they even used a jail as a safe area.
My main problem with this book? THE COVER!! I actually didn't read this book before now because by the look of the cover I thought (with out reading the blurb) that it was about a woman in a paranormal world with some kind of..maybe prophetic powers? maybe she was some kind of royal? The cover in no way leads me to think its about a zombie apocalypse. It has a pretty woman wearing pearls on it?

I'm a longtime fan of zombies & new fan of RH, and to have both of those come together could have been pretty cool. I loved the apocalyptic side to this story, and felt like it was well done. However, every time the MCs had dialogues to rationalize (I use that word because that's what it seemed like they were doing) their thoughts/feelings on why it was okay to be in a relationship with more than two people involved felt distracting to the story. If the relationships had developed while the story kept trucking along it would have been great, but all the detours to hash out why RH is okay took away from it IMO.

Hot guys and zombies, what's not to like?

This was admittedly my first reverse harem book that I have ever read, and I have to say, the character dynamic makes a compelling, sexy story...then throw in some zombies for good measure, and you've got yourself a real page turner! The author teases the reader throughout with the various relationship dynamics, and by the end you are begging for the 'big pay-off'. I hope that we see more of this in the next book, which I will be buying, of course. Highly recommended for zombie and romance fans.

DNF at 11%

Ho boy.

This one just wasn't ready to be released. The dialogue and actions are bland, and the characters don't feel fleshed out. They're also bland.

Then...the DNF tipping point: while they're camping, this chick is reading a kindle book about a shifter RH and the hero asks about it while they're in the tent. She explains what the book is about, and he's like "oh, that could work as long as no one feels left out." Cringe.

Yeah, that's a "no" from me.

(I'm just trying to find some good RH, people!!)

The Sightless is an interesting spin on zombies and the rh genre. It's definitely well thought out and I love the details that are included about the virus and the world they live in. It was easy to get lost in this book, which I love to do. The characters are great and very easy to relate to. My only critique is the lack of dialogue throughout the story. Overall, I loved this book and I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

I enjoyed the book. It was easy to read and follow along. I don't usually read much about zombies but the spin on them in this book is different from other books. It was refreshing to have something different than what most people usually write about when it comes to zombies. I loved that it's a slow building romance and not an in your face romance, where everything happens suddenly. The book overall is entertaining and keeps your attention.

Author has potential.

So the beginning of this book was not good at all. I almost stopped reading and I was only about 10 pages in. But it did get better. The writing was a little clunky and the story line was kinda repetitive but it was realistic and I enjoy reading about zombies and survival. I'm interested in seeing where the next book is headed and I think this author has potential so I will be reading the next book.

Zombie awesome!!!

I love the added fear factor to a reverse harem genre. The added scare and suspense was practical and just blew me away! I loved the spice and thrill! This book left you on your toes the entire time, have you emotion and thrills and couldn't wait for the heat that only 3 men can give you!! Very good book, totally recommend can't wait for the next one!

I really enjoyed the authors take on the zombie apocalypse. Katherine aka kit Kat has hit pay dirt during the apocalypse. She started of with one very hot and very capable best friend and ends up adding to more hotties that are very well rounded as well. This crew goes thru a lot and it's not even all zombie related which I love and find very refreshing. I can't wait for book 2! Things are getting very interesting at the end.

This book was recommended to me by a friend and then I managed to win a copy from the author. I'm glad I did. It was less of a romance and more of a walking dead type vibe which is perfectly fine with me. It is not a light read and very well thought up. My only faults with this book was just the way it was written. The formatting with the paragraphs seems just off at times. Huge paragraphs that take a page or more before they break. It takes a minute to adjust.

This book has such a unique... genre? I'm not sure what word I'm looking for. I pounced on this book. It was a very good first start for a series, characters, and scenes were described beautifully, so it was an easy visual as I was reading. I love that it never took me where I expected it to go. No spoilers... But if you want a little boring predictable book you can already know what the entire book says, than try this anyway, you need help.

A round of aplause, please

I just love the fact that Kit Kat isn't a teen but a Woman in her 30 with all the aches. I only have a little bug.... Why does have Eli to sudenly become dark? But i'll let it go because of all the rest. Oohhh the way how Ellabee brings to light the deep depravation humans can achieve. She manage to surprise me and i'm always expecting the very worst. Can't wait to read book 2.

Loved this book! Katherine is a super relatable MC. We follow her adventure during the zombie apocalypse with 3 super hot guys willing to die to protect her. I'm a walking dead fan, but this was my first zombie read- I was not disappointed. This sexy thriller was worth my time. I can't wait for the next installment!

I really enjoyed this book

This was a great book, I love the story line. It is full of action, and suspense, I also like how you get to watch the relationships build. Ellabee Andrews really took something that not many people would write about with an RH and made it amazing, cant wait to see what's next.
