This was an awesome start to a series! It reminds me a lot of #TheRealCinderella series!

This is the start of a series of the Garcia brothers. Ben, Aaron, Drake, Cade and Eli (Squirt)
Hot and charming brothers who are both different and similar to each other.
Benjamin is the super hot and sexy star-football player in the football team in Jefferson’s High. Problem? He is the one brother that does not date.

When Scarlett moved in to a new high school, she finds a new beginning for her and her mum in this new town. What she doesn’t expect is running head first to Benjamin Garcia. That incident was the start of a very lovely and yet rocking start of their friendship

It was cute to see them both starting off as friends before trying out on their feelings, but how much will they go before real feelings begin to form and old memories surface? Will it cause confusion between them ?

Watch as we see a new group of friends unite and support each other over tough and fun times. Love this new series, love the writing and I am thankful that Yesenia has taken the time to be with her daughters, to care for herself and them through a tough time. I feel like Yesenia has grown so much in the last few months and it has shown in her writing. Thank you Yesenia, we fans will always support you 💕

Received a copy from the author herself, for an honest review, thank you!

Could have been more interesting

This was an extremely innocent book. There's not much of a conflict. There's very little drama. Not really any chemistry between "romantic" characters. I feel this is a fine "romance" for maybe an 11 yr old girl. There's not much of a story. Very easy and fast read. So for me this is a 2 star. If it had a deeper storyline I would have given another star even though this book was a little too young on the YA scale for me.

Cute read. Great characters. Has the making of a good series. Ben is excellent book boyfriend material,
not only hot but an all round Mr Nice Guy .
Scarlett has moved to a different town after losing her father. Here she literally runs into the resident, aloof hottie who doesn't date. Will she get him to change his mind?
Ms Vargas deals with sensitive topics like loss and starting over in a heartwarming story that is easy to read.
I received an ARC but loved it so much that I bought it as a way of saying thank you for bringing us some lighthearted escapism during these difficult times.

What I love most is that the characters are always very supportive and genuine with each other. On the surface, it’s a typical coming of age story but there are so many layers to this story because their circumstances are far from typical! These are teenagers going through very difficult situations and yet handling it with a level of maturity that is rare.

They are strong, yet life experience has also left them vulnerable. Can they lower walls down enough to let each other in? To trust each other? Should they avoid falling in love given everything they’re dealing with or is it exactly what they need?? Come along and let Ben and Scarlett pull you into their lives 🥰

It was a solid read, but I really wanted more conflict. But it was good for a quick read while I waited for my MIL to have surgery.

I love this book, loved how we got to no scarlett, her love for her family was beautiful, her making new friends easy and how she let her heart open even after all the upset she had been through.
This was a lovely easy read if you have read yesenia's other books you will not be disappointed by this one.

I was gifted this as an arc for an honest review. What can I say it didnt disappoint it's a lovely feel good easy read.

I really enjoy Yesenia's books. They are cute, uplifting, and easy reads. I read this book in 1 day.

The Garcia family consists of a single mom of 5 boys...(Can you imagine?) Ben, Aaron, Drake, Cade and Eli (Squirt). The oldest is Ben, who is on the football team and does not date. With work, school, and football practice, he has no time for a girlfriend.

Enter new girl Scarlett, who literally runs into him on her first day as she is trying to find her class. She looks into his green eyes and is smitten by his good looks. She finds out that every girl is smitten with the Garcia brothers. But she can't help but look his way.

Scarlett meets friends easily. One of her new friends is on the cheer leading team and convinces her to try out. Scarlett makes the team and is assigned a football player to send encouraging notes and goodies to. She ends up getting Ben. As they get closer and become friends, we find out if Scarlett will be the girl to break Bens "no dating" rule.

This was a cute, clean, high school romance book. I enjoyed the dialogue between the two main characters, as well as the supporting characters.

DNF stopped about chapter 29 or so.

The story had potential, but like alot of teen fiction novels it fell sort of flat. I tried my hardest to push through and read it from cover to cover.

Unfortunately not the case. 🙃

I was expecting more. I was expecting there to be more interactions not the brief ones we see. I was expecting more time spent together (even with knowing Ben works, homework, football) we see small interactions and it's just...we need more as readers.

She's into cheer/dance, hanging out with friends and vegging at home. We get it, the author spends more time talking about those things then the initial book plot which is getting to know more about Ben.

Then we find out Ben has had a crush on the MC, yet that's pretty much three quarters of the way into the book. How can he have a crush on her if they rarely spent time together? The MCs obsession or infactuation is moreso with Ben than anything else. No deep feelings really being placed. You can't be crushing on someone who you've barely spoken three words to or less.

Honestly not a book worth continuing to read.

For a younger group

This book was okay. Just ok. Not what I was expecting. This high school genre seems to be the popular read lately, but unlike other books I’ve read with high schoolers, this group was very immature. This book felt like it was really written for the age group or younger of the characters in this book.

Very clean, not one swear word, no sex and one very short and innocent kiss. This book was more about a teenage girl and her mom starting over in order to get over the grief of losing her father. The author didn’t allow you to get to know Ben. Scarlett and Ben hardly spent anytime together and the story was told strictly from Scarlett’s point of view, so you knew nothing about what was going on in Ben’s head. More character building needed for Ben and the people that surrounded the H and H.

Recommend for 16 or younger.

Sometimes you just need a sweet romance to make you smile. Scarlett and Ben were just too perfect together. This is the second book that I’ve read by Yesenia and I absolutely love her stories. Scarlett and her mom move to town after the loss of her father to find a fresh start. Ben is the hard, working oldest brother of the Garcia family. A simple run in completely changes their outlook on life and I loved it. The supporting characters are exactly what this story needed. I can’t wait to read Rachel and Aaron’s story!

Very fast easy read. No real conflict, it touched on some familial issues, but not very deeply, and characters read younger and more immature than their actual ages. Also the public declaration thing at the end was so cringey (I mean, all public declarations are) and so out of character for Ben, andit ruined the scene for me. It felt like it was just added in because there was a brief mention of promposals earlier. This book has potential, but it missed the mark by a long way. I expected a lot more from this one.

Sweet but at times disjointed

Scarlett and her mother moved to town after the tragic lost of her dad. She takes a chance and does things out of her comfort zone and to her surprise she is good at it. She also makes great friends and has a crush on the boy who doesn't date, of course the star football player and best looking boy in school. This was a sweet story but at times skip around and never explained what was going, example, a party was mentioned than the next page nothing was mentioned about it, confusing

Falling for Ben & Other Impossible Things is exactly what author Yesenia Vargas says it is - a sweet, high school romance reminiscent of all the best Disney channel films. New girl Scarlett moves to town and falls for high school heartthrob Ben. Both are nursing their own past hurts. But in that great way we all remember a first crush to be, it makes you feel all the butterflies of innocent and charming love stories. Great read!

Solid YA premise, but the story felt a little cliché. The characters were very likable, but I did have the thought that Scarlett's adaptation to her new school was just a little bit *too* easy. New friends on the first day? Not impossible, just less likely. I did enjoy the writing of Ben's character, but could've used more sizzle between the characters. Probably a nice easy beach read, but I prefer even my cute romances to have a little more grit.

Sweet and cheesy

Sweet and cheesy, but also includes some realistic themes about dealing with some harder life topics. This is the perfect read for when you don't want too much school drama and it's got just the right amount of cuteness in it. This reminded me of the teenage years when we all had silly crushes in school. There isn't much conflict, but I actually didn't mind that much.

OMG I am in love with this book❤️
I completely loved ALL the characters, the nontraditional way that the Yesenia talked about the cheer squad and showed again how friendship is important.
I am obsessed with the mother-daughter relationship, and again Yesenia made us fall in love with the Killer cookie girl and Ben S2
I can’t wait to read Aaron and Rach story.....

I really enjoyed reading this book. I was hooked pretty quick in the beginning of the book and just wanted to keep reading. The ending left me wanting to read the next book in the series. I can’t wait for it to come out. Definitely not disappointed I decided to take a chance and read this book. I was curious about it and so glad I did.

Adorable.

What a lovely, simple, high-hearted quick read.

This had me laughing out loud with the characters and feeling tearful with them as well.

The plot and storyline is VERY simple but the main story follows the developing romance between Ben and Scarlett. Very cute and sweet.
Definitely a pick me up book.

Another cute read that I couldn’t put down. Very sweet story of new girl falls for closed off popular sport hero of the school, guy falls for new girl but takes his time letting her know, only to push her away before a happy end can be found❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love the quirky humor in the story and it left a smirk on my face as I read it❤️❤️❤️ thanks for another great read

I really liked the first half of the book (if only everything were as easy as Scarlett making friends at her new school...), but the second half fell a bit flat for me. As other reviewers have already mentioned, the conflict felt a bit forced, as did the Grand Gesture[TM].
Still, I want to see how Rachel's story turns out.

Super simple easy read

Overall it's a nice enjoyable read. Likeable characters with some real life wounds. It could have been a little more complex but it being a YA book it wasnt disappointing. It was nice to read a book that wasn't filled with a bunch of weird sexual tension. Just a nice clean easy read.

Good read

Good way to spend an hour quite a light book with a happy ending. The only think I didn’t like was the cheerleaders baking cookies for the footballers! They’re not their little cut down wives there to make men’s lives easier! Other than that sexist event the book was an enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved all the characters and the storyline. I just wish it had where things went after the dance but either way this is a really good book and I can’t wait for Aaron’s story .

Great read!

This was a sweet and simple book. It wasn’t full of intense moments between the characters. It wasn’t the type of book that’s one character felt like they had more power over the other. I loved how caring all the characters are.

Sweet and charming

Loved this sweet story about Ben and Scarlett and really appreciated the way Vargas dealt with the ever present way grief can swamp you out of nowhere. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

I’ve been reading a lot of horror lately and needed something sweet and innocent to cleanse my pallet, so to speak. This book was just the thing. Perfect for anyone who wants something with no sex, no bullies, and sweet first love.
