Rate this book
If the path becomes lost, can you find your way home?

Pierre Danville is the reluctant heir to the Danville clan of Fae. As if that’s not bad enough, Fate has chosen his future bride for him, and Pierre’s not impressed. All he wants is freedom to choose his Destiny.

Petrina envies her friends who marry for love and are properly courted by their Fae men. Instead of courting, Petrina and Pierre are forced into the woods where they can be alone and work out their problems.

A witch is at work in the Danville Forest. Her prize is a young Danville heir with his Destiny. If Pierre and Petrina don’t work together, it could spell the end for the Danvilles.

*I received a gifted copy from the author, all thoughts are completely my own*

I think it's safe to say that Melanie is quickly becoming a auto buy author for me. Her writing style is quick paced, with short chapters, easy to differentiate characters and fantastic backstories.

The two main characters Pierre and Petrina easily find a place in your heart. While the relationship between the two in the beginning is "rocky" at best it definitely comes into it's own.

Petrina is a sweet, caring, gentle, hardworking fae who just wants to feed her clan.

Pierre is preparing to be leader of the fae clan one day, and as such with leadership sometimes hard decisions have to be made.

As much as I love Pierre sometimes you just wanna shake the boy ;-).

If you enjoy magic, fae, banter, and a quick engrossing story that grows with each book than Melanie is who you want.

If you're looking for robots, long chapters or tiny print. You're looking in the wrong place.

Great Story!!! I really enjoyed this story. Pierre and Petrina kept me on the edge of my seat. At first I was not sure I could like Pierre and I do kind of wish he was at least a little bit of help to Petrina considering he's a prince and supposed to take care of her and their people, but I believe he learned some important lessons and has great potential. Petrina is a great example of what a leader should be and I was pleasantly surprised to realize I had already read the next book in this series which is proof that she ended up happy and loved.

This new genre of retelling fairy tales is wonderful. I know there have always been retellings, but somehow these newer retellings are different.

DECEPTION is a retelling of the classic Hansel and Gretel and much like the original fairy tale, it is dark and has a strong undercurrent of evil.

It is a very short read, I was able to read it all in one sitting. There are lots of Fae and Fairies and Witches and more. The time line moves quickly and as with any fairy tale, there is a moral wrapped up inside.

I'm very glad to have stumbled across this book.

I loved this story so much!!

The characters were amazing!! I loved reading and getting to know more about Pierre and Patrina. They are amazing couple even with the bumps in the road.

The storyline was incredible and very well written. This isn't your normal Hansel and Gretel story with its twists and turns. It's a bit shorter than the other stories but the author was able to bring the story to an awesome ending and I highly recommend it!!

Loved this book! It was a great redo of hansel and gretel, with all the hooks the original story had and more. You definitely won't be disappointed and probably won't want to put it down either! XD
