This is a cute and fluffy queer love story but it has some of the weirdest metaphors I’ve ever read when discussing women and their bodies.

It’s some weird hetero shit.

Awakening to the Star

4.5 stars - Maisie London feels zero sparks or interest when it comes to the male species. I really like that, even though she's stated as being beautiful and regularly hit on by guys, she's never put any thought into it either way... until Star. I love that her first real interaction with Star lets something click with her. Where things go from there is so freaking cute with a side of sensual.

I don't go chasing after girls. I definitely don't pine after one I don't think I have a chance with. Sure, I play for the same team, I just don't crush on girls that play for the same team. At least, I... think... she is. To be honest, I'm not real sure what she's into.
-- Star Castile

Their developing crushes are sweet and adorable. And once they come together (pun TOTALLY intended), it's just... ahhh... fantastic, made even better by the possessive nature that Star has working for her. 💖🌮🌮💥

Mack, Star's twin brother, keeps things interesting, especially when he decides to "hit" on Maisie or takes to texting her on Star's behalf. I look forward to reading his book, My Only One.

I listened to this on the Read Me Romance podcast. At the time of this review, these older episodes are still available (Episodes 45.1 & 45.2). The hosts are as entertaining as the books they present for our listening pleasure.

The narrator is Lori Prince. She does a really good job with Star and Maisie.

This was a super sexy, sweet, and coming of age lesbian novella. Maise and Star meet after an accidental shirt tearing moment. I really liked this story so much that I rushed to get Star's brother's and Maise's bff's story.

This specific video review will be included in the September 2019 wrap-up.

Star has always known who she is and been comfortable with it. Maisie, on the other hand, only knows that she isn't interested in what other girls her age are...boys. But she's never understood why, until she bumps into Star.

Maisie is unsure of what it all means, though she's curious to find out. Will Star help her explore that? Is this just a phase or has Maisie finally discovered who she truly is? Is this new path one Maisie will struggle to adapt to? Or will she realize with the right person by your side, you can conquer anything?

One-click now and follow along as Maisie and Star find the one in each other.

This was a cute read to listen to on RMR

Maisie not sure at first if she into guys but when she keep seeing Star her heart flutters...and is shy to do or say anything until she ruins Stars shirt that has them talking and connecting more..

Star has been crushing on Maisie for awhile and now they spend more and more time together..

We also get hints of her twin and Maisie bestie

No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary charas, sexy times,  virgin gals

This was a really good read. This is a F/F story and I have to say that I was not disappointed. I don't normally read this type of romance but it was a nice change to my usual type. I really enjoyed this book. Star and Maisie were such a great couple. Maisie wasn't sure why she didn't feel the same about hot guys the way her friends do but when she sees Star, she starts to realize why. She starts out as friends to Star because she was scared of her feelings and she wasn't sure if Star possibly felt the same way about her. She didn't have anything to worry about. The chemistry between Maisie and Star was off the charts hot. I first listened to their story on the Read Me Romance podcast and I was so happy to read it again. This was a great story. I can't wait to read more from Ella Goode. I am glad that I found her work.

I would like to imagine that, with time and way more pages, this could've been a really good story. And don't get me wrong, I liked it but it was read more like a fanfic than a short story.

I'm okay with insta-whatever if there's more to it than that but this one was not the case at all. There was no exploration, no tough calls, no grow.

It was a good idea overall but the execution was very poorly done.

With the times we currently have, it was just a matter of time before our favourite novella authors started writing the same sex stories. It was not a bad one but it will take me a while to get used to these... I'm such a ho for cute alphas men 😂

I enter f/f books written by authors who typically write m/f with trepidation because I'm almost always let down, but I really didn't mind this one! It's definitely not the most well-written novella, with a lot of disjointed phrasing and insta-love (making it a really underdeveloped romance), but it was just really cute and perfect for the slump I'm in at the moment. Frankly, it was like an m/f NA romance but with lesbians, especially with the considerable lack of homophobia (including internalized homophobia), which is something I'm really happy to see. If you've read Alexa Riley's novellas and are familiar with that type of writing, this is definitely something you might enjoy.

rep: lesbian mcs, f/f romance

To be honest I almost didn't read this. In just not into FF romance. But I took the plunge and I'm glad I did. These ladies have the funniest dialogue. They are so sweet and loving to each other and everyone around them.
I read an advanced copy of this book.

3 1/2 stars. Mostly I was glad to see FF getting a story. Most of the books are MM in the LGBT department. It seems like it anyway. The narration was a little distracting, but overall a good storyline.

I’ve never read a FF book before, but come on it’s Ella! The usual super steamy and insta-Love prevails. Maisie and Star are great together and have hot chemistry. Completely safe and as usual a great HEA.

I listened to this book on the Read Me Romance podcast and I really enjoyed it!

Maisie is a college student with no sexual experience. She's beautiful and always has male attention, though she realises that Star, a mysterious and artistic female student, is the one she is interested in.

The relationship between Star and Maisie was so sweet and their connection felt very genuine and believable. I also loved Maisie's character and how she came to realise her sexuality throughout the course of the novella; it felt very natural. I also thought the voice actors were great, very charismatic and fit the characters well.

This was my first Ella Goode book and I'm invested enough in these characters to read the sequel, which features Mack (Star's brother) and Dally (Maisie's best friend).

4 por ser el primer libro de instalove de dos chicas tan dulces. Libros que normalmente son heterosexuales o que casi siempre son de hombres con hombres.

I listened to this audiobook on the Read Me Romance podcast. This is the first F/F book I’ve read and I’m of mixed mind with this novella. First the story is good, well-written and engaging. However, I have a hard time believing that Maisie had no idea that she was interested in girls. But I live in Southern California, am heterosexual, have always known people who are open with their sexuality, and have worked in the mental health field for fifteen years so my experiences my be different than the average reader. I can also see how the heteronormative society doesn’t allow you to think that you would be or could be attracted to the same sex but to be in college and not have even an inkling of your sexual preference (for lack of a better word) is hard for me to wrap my head around. I guess you hear about people realizing later that are are attracted to the same sex but I’ve always dismissed this as unrealistic but, again this is from my experience. This was the only issue I had with this book but it was a pretty major one for me. Overall, though, the story was good and I liked Ella Goode’s writing. I’d probably also try another F/F book and definitely more of Ella Goode's writing.

I'm not usually into reading FF books. But when with Ella Goode I'm always willing to give anything a go.

Star is part of the Castile family. They've all been known to go for what they want and when it doesn't come to them they work harder to get it. Star's always been comfortable with her sexuality and has never hidden it, not even from her family. When she first claps eyes on Maisie she experiences feelings she's never felt before. But in Maisie, Star sees innocence that she wants to protect as well as a curiosity she wants to sate.

Maisie is hands down a beautiful woman. However, all the attention she receives from the men on campus just makes her uncomfortable. Unlike her friends the thought of sleeping with a man just doesn't get her motor running, if anything it makes her sick. Now Star Castile on the other hand stirs feelings that confuses, yet feels right for Maisie.

Absolutely adored getting to read the Castile children!
I can only hope we might be able to catch up with Star, Maisie, Mack, and Dally again.

Gotta confess, this was my first FF read and I picked it up because it was written by the magnificent Ella Goode. She fills her stories with love, affection, passion and romance. I knew that she would do the same in She's the One and I was not disappointed. Maisie is a pretty girl but she doesn't see it. She is baffled by guys being attracted to her, their attention leaves her cold. What does attract her notice is the beautiful purple-haired goddess Star. She makes Maisie feel things that she doesn't understand. Star noticed Maisie long ago but figures there is no chance. Even though she has never see the pretty girl date a guy, she can't imagine that she has a chance with Maisie. The way it all comes together was so perfect, I just loved these two. I couldn't imagine a more perfect pair!

She’s the One is a FF story that hits all the marks. It is an insta-love, sweet, double virgin love story that makes the readers swoon. I loved that this author made these two perfect for each other and I was excited to see them get their HEA. This story was on the sweeter side, therefore as a bit less heat then the author’s previous books but no less heart! I liked that one of the characters didn’t have any experience with another female until she meet her love, it makes me believe that in life great surprises are still out there to discover. I enjoyed this story and think it fits wonderfully into this author’s collection. I can’t wait for some of these secondary characters to get their stories! 3.5 stars.

Good read!

I’ve been a fan of Ella Goode for some time and have truly enjoyed her reads. When I noticed she wrote a f/f romance I was intrigued. Given how much I loved her other romances I thought I’d give it a chance. And I’m glad I did. It was sweet, romantic and steamy. I just loved the way Star and Maisie we’re into each other. I wish the book was a tad longer because it really had the potential of being a full length with more tension, and more getting to know each other and such. It is a quick HEA read. Looking forward to Stars twin brother getting his own book because it seems there is a lot going on there that needs seriously explaining. Take a chance on this one! Love is love ❤️❤️

Maisie is a natural beauty, inside and out. All the guys practically fall over each other to get to her, or get noticed by her. But she doesn’t see them or feel the same. The only one who really intrigued her is Star, who’s always off by herself doing her own thing. When she comes face to face with Star, who happens to mention she’d rather girls over boys, something clicks inside of Maisie. Both beauties kinda long for the other silently, but when they finally let their guard down, love is in the air ❤️

This is an insta-love F/F come of age romance between Maisie and Star. It's a sweet and funny romance novella read. I will be honest and say, it's not my cup of tea but the writing is good and the characters are real, funny and sweet. The heat level is a bit steamy. Its a short novella but has a good HEA.

First f/f book I've read and it's not something I would normally read but Ella made it a great read. It was not what I thought it'd be it was more.

The story of Maisie was such a fun character and totally relatable and for me that's what I look for in a story. One that connects the reader to the story.

It was a quick read and it delivered in the story, the heat and the feels.

Love is Love

I was hesitant to read the story at first because I’ve never read any same sex stories but this story is sweet and wonderfully told. Massie and Star are perfect together. They compliment each other and their story was told with a lot of heart.

Can’t wait for Mack and Dally.
