Destruction rages across the country as the damage from the initial disaster spirals out of control. With his best friend caught in the throes of the enemy, Mike fights for his life while his wife and child struggle against the snow and the impending darkness.
A new, intensely thrilling and terrifyingly nail-biting series, Last Light is a post-apocalyptic adventure from Justin Bell and Mike Kraus like you've never seen before. Taking the tropes of post-apocalyptic and simultaneously turning them on their head and masterfully playing to them, Justin & Mike deliver a heart-pounding series that will both excite and terrify you with every turn of the page. Last Light is planned to be a 6-book series, delivered monthly.
How long can an author write about the same thing but still hold my attention, even more, it's riveting I can't stop reading it. Honestly, this book is brilliant and there is lots of action where I needed to hold my breath. There might be no zombies but what there is is more dangerous and can't be outrun. I'm now starting book 4 Hard Road.
It was ok not one of Justin Bell's best. A lot of repeating of lines which looked like he needed to fill the book up with words. Husband doesn't seem like he wants to be with his wife and little girl as he was more interested in looking at all the dead faces to find a particular person, spending days doing that, than trying to get home to see his family. His friends seemed more like wanting to get him to his family than he did. Don't know if I care to read book 4 when it comes out. I will wait to see in a few weeks.
Each book in this series, just keeps getting better and better. The mysterious drama with Mary Beth and the "cellar". I swear I held my breath every time someone went down those stairs. Spooky! Mike is also in his world of "sh_t"! Get this series. The most believable Apocalyptic survival series out there.
There is so much more to this series than "the lights went what'd we do". It's like a suspense thriller and apocalyptic had a baby and this is it. You never know what's hiding in the dark.
This book is really good and continues the apocalypse with a twist. Even with the creatures, the true monsters are still people. My biggest issue with this format, is that the books are too short and it is tougher to get into them before they end.
I agree that it is a diversion from the first two of the story, but it has maintained enough tension and continuity to keep it in the general flow. I think I have had enough of the beasties though.
The series is awesome. A little twist to post apocalyptic survival genre. I think it an ingenious idea that seems completely plausible. A real page turner.
I like how the author keeps your interest. You wonder where the slicks are! How is his family doing? Will Mike get away. Why does Troy not trust him. They have know each other for years..
I will be starting book #4 tonight . Scary apocalyptic creatures makes you wonder....I have been anxious to see if the family will get to reunite some day or if Mike will ever make it home...
