Divorced single dad Luke Grayson isn’t looking for love. Nope. Not at all what he’d planned on asking Santa for this year.
Love is off the table for Luke and has been ever since he had his heart broken when the mother of his son walked out on him without a backward glance. Ignoring the hurt and the loneliness, he’s spent the past several years focused on providing a good, stable life for Ethan while growing his successful carpentry business. But then Dr. Christie Harmon moves to Cheyenne, Wyoming and has Luke wanting all kinds of things he shouldn’t want from the gorgeous pediatrician. Things like long nights, sweet mornings, and whispered promises. Soon, Luke finds himself only wanting Christie under his Christmas tree this year. But Christie’s running from a secret—one that could completely change how Luke sees her.
This is a sexy Christmas romance with a guaranteed HEA. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, Luke will steam up your e-reader this holiday season!
Tara Wyatt is a Canadian contemporary romance author. Known for her humor and steamy love scenes, Tara's writing has won several awards, including the Golden Quill Award and the Booksellers' Best Award. In addition, she was a 2018 RITA® Finalist for her novella, Until the Sun Sets.
When she's not hanging out with your next book boyfriend, she can be found reading, bingeing Netflix, or playing way too much Among Us. Tara lives in Hamilton, Ontario with the world's cutest dog, her daughter, and a husband who makes all her of her heroes look like chumps.
I wasn’t expecting to be as entertained as I was with When Snowflakes Fall, in fact I enjoyed it so much, I went straight onto read the second novella in the duology Like Fresh Fallen Snow, and I enjoyed them so much, I read them both in the same afternoon!
This is a dual review for both novellas. These are the first books I have read by Tara Wyatt, and I was mightily impressed, especially if you take into account that these are both very short novellas. Because I got a full and really engaging reading experience from both Luke and Matt Grayson’s stories.
"I’m not a guy. I’m a man… Given the chance, I’d love to show you the difference."
Twin brothers, one a cop the other a carpenter, both divorced and Luke also has the added cuteness of his son Ethan, for women to contend with. Both stories offered up exactly what I am looking for in a Christmas quickie, in that they were all sorts of insta, a whole lot of sexy, with a little sweet, and a dash of drama thrown in just to keep things interesting, as both men fall for their respective women.
"Let’s just… not think, okay? Let’s just enjoy this for what it is."
They were also a great introduction to this authors writing style for me, and I will absolutely be looking out for more releases from Tara in the future.
"Things happened fast, but it’s been a long time since I’ve felt about anyone the way I feel about you."

This book had me breathless and panting when I wasn't laughing hysterically. 💜🔥😄
“I forgot something.”
She frowned, looking around. “You did?”
His large hands cupped her face and he kissed her, his mouth hot and tender on hers.
I'm seriously swooning over here!
I had the pleasure of listening and reading this novella. It was a very easy read / listen. Even though I would've preferred a second voice, I liked the narrator, Miller Calhoun.
Dr. Christie Harmon found herself having to uproot her life and find a new job after a vicious scandal. Finding herself working as a pediatrician at the local hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming she meets a handsome single father when his little boy is brought in for treatment.
Luke Grayson is still reeling from his ex leaving him and his young son years before and normally doesn't find himself opening up to women. There however is something about the pediatrician that treated his son and he finds himself wanting to spend more and more time with her but will her past be the thing that tears them apart?
When Snowflakes Fall is a pretty quick novella length romance read. The entire story takes place from the start of Dec until right before Christmas so I would warn that if not a fan of fast moving instant connections this one may not be for you.
The writing and characters in here were really likable, one with having a child involved is always nice when they get along with the new person in their life. There are also steamier moments between the pair. The only thing I slightly struggled with myself whether Christie should of told her past sooner but then again the relationship was only a few weeks in so her holding back on revealing those details didn't seem too outrageous and dishonest.
Overall, a pretty good quick romance read set around the Christmas season.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
When Snowflakes Fall was a heartwarming holiday read. I enjoyed the storyline, it kept me entertained and turning the pages.
The characters Christie and Luke were both likable and very relatable. It was heartwarming watching them connect and fall in love. I especially loved how happy Luke's son Ethan was for his dad and how open and loving he was with Christie. They made a beautiful little family.
Overall, When Snowflakes Fall was a quick, sweet read that will leave you with a heart full of happy feels. A perfect holiday read.
Completely entertaining read! This is a new to me author and I must say if her romantic suspense books are as well done as this one, I need to get reading!! This is a wonderful contemporary small town romance set in Wyoming with one very hot carpenter and an ER doc that have chemistry sizzling from the pages. Luke Grayson is a single dad content with his life raising his son Ethan. That is until he walks into the ER and meets the new pediatric doc. Dr. Christie Harmon came to Wyoming to escape the scandal and cruelty of her last job. After her last relationship she definitely isn't looking to start anything new but resisting the very sexy Luke Grayson and his son Ethan proves hard to do!
A great book for relaxing during the holiday season. I highly recommend it.
Luke is raising his son Ethan alone. He owns his own construction business and has deep roots in Cheyenne. We briefly meet his family, including his sexy twin brother Max. These two may be night and day, but both are handsome and worthy to be your next book boyfriend. Christie has left a troubled past for a new start in Wyoming. She is lonely, hurt and having enormous self-doubt, but she isn't a whiner, and I admired her from the outset.

I loved the chemistry and banter we witness as their courtship progressed. We also saw them interact with Ethan and the rest of Luke's family. The romance felt genuine giving us a mix of heat and tender moments. We do have some conflict involving Cristie's past, but Wyatt kept it to a minimum and made it realistic.
If you're looking for a feel good holiday romance that will leave you grinning, grab a copy of When Snowflakes Fall.
There is nothing I like better then reading quick novella's at the holidays. I'm so happy to be able to tell you about When Snowflakes Fall by Tara Wyatt. It's the first in her Grayson's series and happens around Christmas.
One of my biggest turn-on's is single fathers. There is just something about a man stepping up and being both mother and father that really gets me every time.
Luke Grayson is just they type of single father that you want to hitch your wagon to. He's a great dad and really puts his son first. Of course he does need a little adult time which is where Christie comes in
You can tell right away that these two work. It's also sweet how she like his son, Ethan.
I really loved this sweet, fun story. I was thrilled that the author spent most of her time on the relationship between Luke & Christie and not what happened in their past. That for the most part was left in the past.
This is a nice short Christmas story with a little suspense.
Luke is a single dad and not looking for a relationship. Christie is a doctor running from her past.
Luke and Christie meet in the ER when Ethan gets hurt. Both have a connection but because of past demons they try to avoid them, but fate brings them together again and Ethan takes control trying to get them together. Luke explains his demons to Christie, but she never tells hers and we are held in suspense as to what happens until close to the end of the story. Then all is revealed. Will they stay together or will Christie's past tear them apart?
Hot, sexy single Dad meets strong, beautiful pediatrician? Yes. Cute son and supportive family? Yes. Personal growth and risking your heart for love? Yes!
Novellas are generally hit or miss me, although I liked the writing but the whole falling in love over the course of a few days didn't ring true for me.
For two people against romance and a relationship, they sure as hell go fast. The only way I could believe this romance is if it was a slow-burn, but the book is too short for that.
When Snowflakes Fall, by Tara Wyatt, is a super-fast and super-fun read. Normally, novellas frustrate me, but this 11-chapter (approx 100-page Kindle) story was almost just the right length. All it needs, in my opinion, is an epilogue to officially wrap up Christie's "secret."
Christie is a pediatrician, new to Cheyenne, who meets single-dad Luke when he brings his 8-year-old son Ethan to the hospital after the boy hits his head. Sparks fly, sexy times ensue. The only real fly in the ointment is a secret in Christie's past (from when she lived in Tulsa) that has made her feel ashamed and unworthy.
The whole story--Meet-Cute (well, Meet, anyway) to HEA--takes place in a single December, so yeah, it's all pretty quick; but this author has a talent for making loveable characters. As such, heck, I was in love with Luke (and maybe also Christie) after about three pages and would probably leave my husband for Luke if he came knocking, so I won't judge.
The story is told in the third person, alternating between Luke's and Christie's POV. True to form, Wyatt's steamy scenes are steamy with a capital S, but equally laden with genuine like and emotion. While there are a few minor editorial issues, nothing is too distracting.
If you like sweet and spicy, you'll find this book delicious.
After rereading Stepped I was still in the mood for another Tara Wyatt read so this was next on the list. The hero was a blue collar hero so that sealed the deal.
While this book was quite short, the author still managed to develop the characters enough to make the reader feel they know Luke and Christie. Like is a single father raising his son and owning his own carpentry business and Christie is a doctor who's relocated to escape a scandal. Neither wants to get involved with the other but with the attraction between them and Luke's son acting as Cupid, well, they really have no choice.
Gotta love a pint-size matchmaker! Luke meets Christie on a trip to the ER for his son, who then puts all his efforts into getting the two to go out. Emotional and romantic and steamy, this story is easy holiday entertainment.
I have a hard time finding stand alone novellas that are well-written and the pacing isn’t cringe-worthy. This one, however, is very well written and I thought the pacing was great and each chapter had a date to give you an idea of the timeline, which was neat!
This book is written in third-person and follows Luke and Christie. I loved their story and how the connection seemed so genuine between these two. Lukes son, Ethan, was a nice addition to the story also!
I've had this one on my kindle for years and I really shouldn't have waited this long to read it because it was adorable.
Though, I'm adding a review some days after finishing this book because I haven't seen anyone mention this in other reviews, but take into consideration that the secret she's "running from" is . Aside from this, everything else in the book is super cute and I had a great time, but I still wanted to point this one thing out just in case anyone needed to know beforehand.
Romance moved too fast, and too little romance and emotional bonding. A short read if this is what you’re looking for. I personally prefer more in depth emotional bonding. Felt weird how they had an insta lust going on and that they slept together on the first date—too fast.
'Por una vez, había seguido a su corazón y este lo había llevado a ella'.

When snowflakes fall de Tara Wyatt Serie The Graysons libro 1
Argumento:
If you’re not reading this book for the joy that is Ethan, I don’t know what to say. What a wingman!!
Luke and Christie had a really great story. The instant connection they felt and the insane heat they shared really hooked me.
At first I was all “Christie what are you doing giving this guy mixed signals?! You flirt with him, asking him how you can get him to come by your house and then he asks you out and you flat out say no?! Not cool girl. Not cool.” She does realize her mistake and changes her mind, realizing that Luke is the kind of man she should take a chance on, and he doesn’t disappoint, standing by her when her past rears it’s ugly head and makes her think she’s not worthy of his love. He is there to support and encourage her and show her she has someone there in her corner every step of the way.
Luke’s relationship with Ethan was so nice to read about, and to see how hard Ethan tried to make things happen between his dad and Christie was adorable. That kid was funny. And who can’t picture their own kids rolling their eyes at them when they tell them to dress up warm before going outside into the cold? Very relatable!
This was a quick, enjoyable read, and I’ll be diving into the next book in this series ASAP.
This was a cute start to my holiday reading. It is very insta-love, but that's pretty much what I expected from a novella.
Christie is a new doctor in town and when she meets one of her patient's dad, sparks fly. Everything seems perfect, but Christie is hiding something big from her past. Will they be able to trust and support each other through the tough times too?
This book was Hallmark Christmas Movie but with steam. You've got all the essential elements: single hot dad, cute kid, successful woman with a challenge to overcome, small town Christmas, snow, gingerbread houses, etc... You get the picture. It was cute but way too insta-love for me. These two were perfect besides the one thing they were working through. They didn't feel like real characters, but I get that is hard to accomplish in a 120 page novella. It was cute, but not life changing.
When Ethan hits his head and is rushed to the hospital by a neighbor who was watching him, single dad Luke's world goes into a tailspin. The attending paediatric doctor, Christie is gentle, sweet and througher in her examination. Of course the last thing both adults expect is for little Ethan to start playing matchmaker. Cute story.
This story is a sweet love story. This is my first time reading from this author and she did really good. Luke is a single dad. He is charming, sexy, funny, and sweet. He is all in type of guy which I love. Christie is new to town. She is sweet, smart, beautiful, and caring. These two chemistry is off the charts! Amazing work Tara Wyatt!
I don't have many thoughts on this to be honest- I found it cute and fun, it discussed sexual abuse and emotional mistreatment well but as it was only about 70 pages long I did not connect to the characters much,
A quick easy, good read. Rushy but to be expected considering the length. A good book to read if you just want to get your reading goal finished kr just want something quick and easy to read.
Such a sweet small town Christmas romance. I loved the characters and the story. I can relate to the FMC who is just trying to deal with bad things that have happened in her past. Very interested to read more in this series.
This story is really well written, has characters that are created with real depth and a captivating story line. It’s emotional & involved without too much angst. It’s incredibly steamy too.
It made me laugh out loud a lot. Ethan is the best wingman. I need a Luke Greyson in my life! Only thing I would say is wrong with the book is the length. If it was longer it would be a bestseller for sure.
