When a Dom invites a shy bookstore owner to live out his fantasies, more than one life will be transformed.
Words are Heath Snow’s life. He can’t remember a time when he didn’t have his nose buried in a book. He couldn’t make a living as a writer, so he did the next best thing—he bought a bookstore. But when he’s not selling books, he’s living vicariously through the characters he encounters. Real men can’t hold a candle to the hot men in his favorite genre.
The Pride display in the bookstore window may be what captured Xavier James’s attention, but the man enthusing about books interests him more. The BDSM book lying next to the cash register is a pleasant surprise, and when he draws attention to it, Heath’s flushed cheeks and bright eyes pique Xavier’s curiosity even further.
Xavier is about to learn that some things are more important than work, and Heath is about to step out of his comfort zone, into a place where fantasy and real life coexist.
K.C. Wells lives on an island off the south coast of the UK, surrounded by natural beauty. She writes about men who love men, and can’t even contemplate a life that doesn’t include writing. The rainbow rose tattoo on her back with the words 'Love is Love' and 'Love Wins' is her way of hoisting a flag. I’ve got to say On the Same Page is the most charming and sophisticated story in K.C. Wells and Parker Williams’ Secrets series so far. Of course, this writing duo always deliver outstanding BDSM scenes, perfectly tailored to the characters in each novel. But seeing the men from On the Same Page find their way to happily-ever-after is a romance reader’s dream come true.
While all the novels in the Secrets series are designed to be read as standalones, the characters from earlier books play a part and I've enjoyed reading them in order, so that's what I recommend.
Fans of Wells and Williams’ writing know what I’m talking about when I say I cheer for their characters. Their men are interesting and true-to-life, and I’ll never get tired of reading about them. They’ve got scars and flaws; they make mistakes and are always there to support each other. Most of the guys are also a bit older so they’ve accrued some life experience and I find their stories very compelling.
Xavier and Heath are both accomplished men, self-confident and established in their careers, and from the moment they meet the spark between them is obvious. When Xavier gets an inkling that Heath would like to explore his kinkier side, this experienced dominant is happy to help Heath fulfill his fantasies.
It’s a bit of historical role play which catches their fancy. With Heath as the inexperienced stable boy to Xavier’s lord of the manor, these two create some incredibly erotic scenes. I’m just going to say, if you’ve ever thought of acting out your sexual fantasies with your dream man, K.C. Wells and Parker Williams bring it all to life in On the Same Page!
I don’t want to spoil anything by revealing the conflict which comes up between Heath and Xavier in On the Same Page, but I will say this portion of the story is quite well done. Heath works hard to find an inner strength and self-confidence which help him stand up for his beliefs. And watching Xavier reconcile his need for success in his career, with doing what’s right for his fellow man, is very rewarding.
For me, the best part of the Secrets series is watching the characters build a community, supporting each other as they share the good times as well as the bad. Fans of An Unlocked Mind will enjoy seeing how positive and proactive Rob has become. And watching all the subs support Ellis from Before You Break, as he copes with his ongoing physical challenges, just enhances the realism of these guys. As this family grows the books of this series just keep getting better and I can’t wait to see what Wells and Williams dream up next!
I loved these two characters of Heath & Xavier. K C Wells and Parker Williams know how to put together a romance, and that is 100% what this is. A true honest, romance. Xavier was a good honest man that tried to do the right thing...but his job, without him realizing it before it was too late, put everything that he loved and wanted in jeopardy. Heath was a bookstore owner that never thought he would find anyone to love or someone to love him...and then one night Xavier came to the shop door in the pouring rain and changed Heath's entire life...until Xaviers job threatened everything and everyone that Heath cared about. The thing about this series that I really, really liked was how characters from the other three books appear and how they work to help one another. Xavier has a huge conflict between his job and his relationship with Heath. He doesn't want to lose either one. I wish that he had been more open with Heath to begin with, but I think Xavier was himself, blindsided by the scope of the project that he was asked to work on. The question actually becomes which one will he choose? Sorry to see this series end, but I own the 4 books, so I'll be visiting with Heath and Xavier and the guys at Secrets again ad again.
My favorite book in the Secrets series so far, this one features Heath Snow, a bookshop owner who is fascinated by one a book in which the master takes his boy to task. Single, sweet, kind, Heath figures he’ll spend his life alone with only his books to take to bed. And then late one night, a new customer shows up who will change his life. Xavier is tall, dark, muscular, a force to be reckoned with, and when he spots the book the handsome shop owner is reading, it gives him enough incentive to explore the spark between them.
I love the way the authors presented Heath—he’s strong and smart and willing to compromise. He’s also not afraid to explore his submissive side or to ask questions about the BDSM lifestyle. There’s also a spark in him that caught my attention and endeared him to me early in the story. Xavier was the perfect Dom as he guided Heath’s early steps in the world of D/s. I liked him, though his workaholism was a bit too on point and difficult to accept. As we learn later in the story, his job jeopardizes all things in his life, including his ties to Heath.
The couple gelled so well I couldn’t imagine what could break them up, but when it happened, it made sense, and then a surprising, but believable, solution to the imminent disaster resolved the issue and allowed Xavier to apologize and grovel to win Heath back (as he well should!).
All together it’s a really nice story that hit all my feels and left a smile on my face. Heath is one of those characters who will stick with me (like Peter in Trusting Thomas) for a long time to come. I highly recommend this to lovers of MM romance, especially those who like a little kink in their stories.
This wasn't my favorite in the series, and that comes down squarely of the shoulders of Xavier's characterization. He seemed nice enough in the beginning, but then he made some serious mistakes, something I didn't expect an experienced Dom to make, and he kept a huge secret from Heath.
Let's start at the beginning. Heath Snow is a bookstore owner, single, a little nerdy, and basically resigned to live vicariously through the characters in the books he reads. His current favorite is a historical book in which a rich lord takes a boy and orders him to do all kinds of naughty things. Heath would so love to be the boy in those scenes.
Xavier is a hard-working, good-looking man, who feels he has to prove himself time and again to his boss, working long hours and spending little time with friends and at the Secrets club where he's a member. One night, in need of a last minute gift, Xavier stops at Heath's bookstore and by chance notices the well-read book Heath has been reading. Xavier is intrigued.
I liked Heath a lot. He was a kind, sweet, and lovable young man, a bit of a book nerd, but also happy to expand his horizons. And I also liked the multiple visits to Secrets and being able to catch up with the couples/throuple from the previous books. I even liked Xavier for the most part, though I didn't warm up to him quickly.
The secret Xavier keeps from Heath and the backhanded manipulation he attempts really made me angry on Heath's behalf. A relationship in which one partner keeps that kind of huge secret is not a solid one, and I knew where this was going before it all blew up in Xavier's face. And rightly so.
The writing was lovely as always - these two authors make a great team - and I enjoyed the story. Of course, this being a romance, all's well that ends well, and there is a satisfying HFN to be had at the end.
** I received a free copy of this book from its publisher in exchange for an honest review. **
“Oy! Can you guys clear out of there? I need my corner.” One of the men laughed. “Find another one.” Rob seemed aghast. “But I have my name in that one.”
My first glimpse really into the MM community was with J.R. Ward and Suzanne Brockmann, and after I discovered how much I loved that aspect of it, I began to dig for all the MM I could find. And Parker was one of the first with Of Love and Corn Dogs. And I fell in love. When I found the collaboration with him and K.C., I was over the moon when discovering Collars & Cuffs and my world was changed forever. I found tropes and genres I never even thought of. I was sad when I thought everything was over with the Collars & Cuffs guys, so when I realized they were making a spin-off series, I was super excited. I’ve grown to love these guys as much as I do the others and it’s been a blast getting to know these guys. And Rob, of course, up to his usual shenanigans. Lol. In this one, we meet some new ones and have fun with the old ones. Heath dreams of someone taking him in hand like the Doms do in the books he reads. But he’s learned life doesn’t always work that way and he’d just rather stick to his books. Until one night, he met Xavier and his life was changed. Xavier was everything he wanted in a partner and Dom, or so he thought. Just when he was falling in love, his world collapsed from out under him and there may be no coming back from it. It was a slap in the face for him. A betrayal, almost. A lie by omission. But Xavier is as torn up and is at his wit’s end on how to fix it and make it right. Because that beautiful sub has brought meaning back to his life that he hasn’t had in a long time and he doesn’t want to lose himself again. As you can see by the highlighted text, Rob is up to his usual snarky self. I remember when I hated him, but he’s grown so much and I just adore him so much. But I’ve grown to love the rest of the guys too. Ellis, Wayne, Vic, and now Xav and Heath. And we can’t ever forget Maggie and Maxwell. Who I’m about to not be happy about. But you have to read to find out what’s up with that. But even though this story was about Heath and Xav, mainly, I love that more people are coming out of their shells. Especially Maxwell. I’ve worried about him for a while and am anxious for him to get his story as well. What I love about these series and books, is it’s all about trust and new beginnings. It’s about BDSM, yes, but what people don’t always realize, are these guys need that structure in order to be who they are. And who they are meant to be. It gives them confidence, a sense of family, a home, love and support that they don’t often have anywhere else. These guys love hard and they do their damnedest to make sure you’re welcomed to the fold, where they are safe to be who they are with no repercussions. Unless it’s Rob in the corner ;) . He’s so naughty. But even with all that Xav and Heath have to go through in this book, they have to learn like everyone, communication is key. Trust and honesty are the most important in any relationship and especially in a BDSM one. Heath has re-taught Xav what he’s been missing out on in life and Xav gave Heath the world he finally wanted for so long. It’s been some bumpy rides on the way, but the bonds and the family that have come out of it, have made these books and series so much more intimate and special. And I have loved every single one. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Heath owns a bookstore. Xavier works for a company that buys out and revitalizes neighborhoods. You can already see where this is gonna go, can't you? They meet when Xavier shows up at the book store after hours to buy a last-minute gift for a friend. The attraction is instant and mutual. The overall plot of this story is nice, albeit a bit predictable. I will likely be the minority in this opinion but this addition to the series felt removed... yes, they visited Secrets a time or two but it not necessary to the plot. It made little sense to me. They never really required a private room at a sex club to role play when no special tools or setup were needed. They could have easily done this at either home. It's almost as if this story originally was meant to belong elsewhere. But the scenes at the club up in subspace (with Rob) made up for the lack of connection otherwise. Minimal BDSM content, mostly minor D/s & all in roleplay form. . ~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the fourth book in the series, and yet I think it could be read as a standalone, and then you may decide to step deeper into the world of Secrets and meet up with some of the characters you meet here.
I really liked Heath and his ordered world - in fact his life sounded pretty perfect ... living above his very own bookshop and making enough to live on ... but undoubtedly Xavier brings a whole new level of colour to his life. Thanks to Xavier introducing him to Secrets, Heath also makes some new friends. Watching Heath discover his true nature was very enjoyable, and for anyone who enjoys historical romances, probably made them chuckle at the scenes.
Xavier is a slightly strange character in my opinion. He is clearly working really hard, and doing quite well, but when we get to see him at work, he is unusually cowed and subservient to Church. He also doesn't deal well with having to deal with a serious conflict of interest. By the end I was convinced that he wanted only the best, but his method of reaching that point was rather painful!
An interesting addition to the series, and I loved having a lead character who owned a bookshop.
I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
This is a proper fantasy read. It’s the story of Heath, a shy bookstore owner who is initiated into the world of BDSM by established Dom Xavier. Like the others in the series, this is a fabulously steamy read - with a little heart.
I really like that Xavier and Heath’s role plays explore an uncommon kink. I love the fun they both have with their period roles and I also enjoyed the way they slowly started to build a relationship beyond the bedroom. There’s still enough traditional kink and steamy sex to push this well into erotica territory - but I like that it’s a little bit different than I expected.
Set in London’s Soho, readers get a good dose of bookstore envy and property porn to accompany the kink. Nothing about Heath or Xavier’s lives are terribly realistic but I found it easy to drool over their homes, their jobs and their kink club. I didn’t love the property development theme that takes over the end of the book - (and I didn’t quite understand it either). However, I really enjoy KC Well’s writing and I kinda love Heath as an unsuspecting kink initiate. I also liked getting to catch up with other characters from previous books.
To my ratings: A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year), it's like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
I received a copy to read and review for Wicked Reads I enjoyed this book. I love the whole shy guy thing. While we didn’t see much of Secret’s this time, we did get to catch up with a few of the characters from previous books. I liked Heath and Xavier, they weren’t your typical couple with your typical kink. They worked for me though. There was plenty of steamy sexy time and I enjoyed watching the relationship between Heath and Xavier grow. Good addition to the series.
Boy meets Boy in bookstore and romance ensues between Heath & Xavier. No surprise, the usual miscommunications, low angst. A nice read! I would have liked more character development of Xavier, though. It was also great to see the interaction between characters from the other books in this series. I think there is one more story to be written, the Nick & Maxwell (the switch?) hookup!?!
What a lovely book even if the BDSM aspects aren´t dominant in the book. Aside from some roleplay there is nearly nothing much of BDSM. That is the only drawback I could find with the book tho. I loved how the relationship developed and how Heath came out of his shell and made friends and got stronger for it. A very nice book for a wet and cold november or december evening.
Not my favorite in the series but still a solid book. My issue with the book is Xav.... keeping secrets for an experienced dom. Just seems weak. This book is very tame in the kinky department compared to the others. But it is a solid feel good read. And it it is always fun catching up with the others.
It was too cringe and the same old same old like every other BDSM themed book. I want there to be some originality or freshness but I guess with this genre, we’ll keep getting the same old.
This is probably my favorite couple of the series. Their relationship doesn't start with the rigid BDSM roles, so it develops much more naturally. They are mostly a couple that also plays together, it doesn't have that typical Dom/sub dynamic most of Wells book have, which, for me, is a plus. I loved Heath, and Xavier is not so bad either, if you ignore the big fuck up. The BDSM elements are pretty mellow, role playing, some restraints and a belt are the extend of it.
I wasn't a big fan of the last third or so, though. I don't know, Heath seemed to be a bit too understanding in the end and the solution felt too unrealistic.
This book was sweet and fun, but I didn't connect with the main characters as much as I have with others in this series. In fact, this book mainly made me look forward to future installment features new side characters that I met here.
However, on its own, the love story between Xav and Heath was both romantic and sexy, and I'm pleased they got their happy ending despite certain characters being stubborn. (And by certain I mean both of them.)
Rob is creeping up on GOAT status for this series, even though Maggie shall remain the reigning queen.
I am a big fan of the Collar & Cuffs and Secrets series from these authors, but I somehow forgot to read this one for ages after it was released. It’s quite different in tone to the first 3 in the series, with less focus on the club itself. I loved Heath and his book store, and I think that would be any fellow bookworm’s idea of heaven. His first meeting and then gradual “education” from Xavier seemed a lot more natural than some of the theme of the earlier stories - that’s not to say I didn’t like them too - but Heath was so totally new to the lifestyle and just reading about his fantasies rather than living them. The scenes in the club when it featured were really good, and I loved seeing the boys in sub space and the friends they have all become. I really love this series and hope to see more.
Fascinating story where a gift is needed. He finds a Bookstore owner that helps with the Gift the wrapping and selecting the right Book. There begins a friendship between the two men who have steamy sex scenes in a Club. Hope there are more stories to buy in this Series.
This book gives you everything! Tears, fears, hurt, disappointment, and most of all, love! Now, they just need to do one on Jack and the musician. Also, let us know what's going on with Maggie!!! Finish the story. Don't leave us hanging!! 😢 LOL!!
On the Same Page, Book Four, a really great series it is well worth reading this set of four books. The two authors know how to keep you wanting to keep reading a really great love journey
I had high hopes for this book because other series from this author were amazing but I couldn't even finish the book. The BDSM context was lacking and the story dragged on.
man... why did u have to do me like that w the spicy scenes i really like the dynamic between xavier and heath, but the plot of the story is kinda eh also there are 2 scenes in this story, and while theyre good, they dont really meet expectations compared to previous books
3.75 stars I really wasn't surprised by anything here, but it was still nice to go back to Secrets and see how everyone's doing. A little preachy in some places.
3.5 ⭐ rounded to 4. Loved the role play kink but could have done without the Disneyesque David versus Goliath or the cringey "don't pirate books!" chapter. Otoh, I liked the family feels.

Heath has always adored his books and words, but when writing turns out to not be for him it’s a natural progression for him to own his own small book store. He loves nothing more than talking books and making recommendations to his customers and finds happiness here. Xavier is more than a little intrigued not just by the handsome owner, but by the well-read BDSM book Heath next to the register. Can these two men find themselves on the same page?
I found this to be a wonderfully paced full length novel. I really enjoyed how the author had the time and space to slowly introduce me as the reader to both Xavier and Heath’s characters, letting me get a good feel for both what they were like and where they were in their lives. This helped me really see not only how they could work together as a couple, but believe in their relationship and understand how they fitted together and meshed so well. Readers who enjoy a slower pace and fuller experience of the characters should find this story really suits their tastes.
The authors’ voice was modern but really relatable, I found myself easily slipping into the story and I related particularly well to Heath, finding a number of common points with his love of books, reading and the simple enjoyment of sliding into a good book and losing sense of time and real life struggles. I really loved how realistic and smooth the story felt to me – and how this made Heath and Xavier’s compatibility so much more believable and lovely to my mind.
I also really enjoyed the intimacy and sex between Heath and Xavier. While smoking hot, there was so clearly emotion and strong feelings between the two men it wasn’t just sex and kink for the sake of it. I really came to believe both men adored each other and relished exploring their sexuality together – particularly when it came to the club Xavier was a member of and the realities and fantasies of BDSM. I enjoyed the good balance I feel the author struck between Heath’s expectations and desires from reading fiction and how it meshed and coupled with the realities and possibilities of a true, living BDSM relationship. I feel the author did a great job with this, keeping it sexy and interesting but still realistic and logical. In particular, the depth of feeling and deeply emotional connection between Heath and Xavier really sold the story for me. Add on an interesting and well-written plot that didn’t seem to just be a quick throw-in and the story overall felt really well rounded and balanced to me.
Full of interesting characters, a deeply emotional relationship and a good, solid plotline this full length story ticked all the right boxes for me and I really enjoyed it. Recommended.
