This second book was so, as we say in the UK, un-put-downable. It follows on from the first diving into Jada Forte and her family.
It has political shenanigans, a bit of rumpy pumpy, intrigue, a shooting, more mystery and more intrigue and so full of left turns. Just how I like my books! I dont want to be able to guess the plot, and I need strong female leads, which this book has in abundance.
Book 2 Carrie's on seamlessly and takes you further into Jada and Spencer's relationship. They family secrets and lies and is a great read.
It takes you into the political landscape of American politics and reveals what really goes on in those halls of power. It opened my eyes and politics is far more dangerous and sexy than I could have imagined.
We further delve into Spencer and Jada's relationship, their childhoods and what shaped them and ultimately mould them to be the adults they are today.
Pushing against their upbringing and influence of their parents.
I love reading about grown ups that are far from perfect, make mistakes and keep learning and striving.
