This is a dated look at an animal who has become unexpectedly popular in the 21st century. There are no photos, only illustrations--many of which leave something to be desired when compared to actual images of narwhals.
The section on "Saving the Narwhal" only mentions how they are hunted and how many are killed--nothing about what can be done to lessen the pressure on them or preserve their habitats.
There are better, more modern books about this unique whale.

I normally like books about narwhals and animal facts. I did not find this one to satisfy either of my likings which made me sad.
