The Order has one last shot at stealing the wild magic brewing inside me.
But I’m not sitting around waiting for them to strike. I’m tracking one of their shadow mages, who holds the key to the other pieces of the powerful meteorite that chose me.
It’s mine to carry, and mine to wield.
My patron mage granted me a vision.
One that compels me to reunite the last two pieces of meteorite and transform into the warrior I was meant to be. In order to do this, I must wake the dead, slay man-eating beasts, and defeat a Blackbriar professor I thought I could trust.
The greatest battle Blackbriar has seen in a thousand years comes crashing down on us.
And not everyone is ready. The Order planned the perfect attack, but I will end this with the perfect revenge. When they endanger innocent lives and try to rip apart my home, it means war.
As we’re betrayed and have our backs are against the wall, I’m grateful I’m not alone. My four handsome men and some daring allies push back, fighting against the darkness that threatens to destroy us all.
My final recourse is a powerful spell.
One that killed the only other person who used it. To save the school and all those I love, I may have to recite an earth-shattering incantation, despite the consequences.
This is the final battle—and there is no turning back.

I read all of the books in this series; however, I was not impressed by the writing. The story line was OK and interesting; however the writing didn't flow well is best way I can describe it. It seemed like the words were forced or choppy, especially Wren's dialogue and did not flow smoothly like other writers. Also I think the story needed to be better developed many things just happened with little transition or explanation. Like in the first book Wren has barely met or gotten to know her four men and it seems like she mets them and automatically the become her men...no build up or development. Also the four men automatically accepted sharing Wren between the. Again other then one brief reference to this type of sharing/poly amorous relationship being acceptable among mages there is no story line development around this. Also when the father first meets the four men he just automatically accepts that his daughter in involved with 4 men. There is no discussion or development as would be expected a father would have upon first meeting his daughter's lovers. All this contributes to the choppy flow of the storyline.
Wow, what an ending! This book encapsulates the final battle for the Blackbriar Academy and our heroine, Wren Blackwood. All signs point to the final 2 pieces of the meteor being on academy grounds. At that means that the Order will also be coming in full force, and Wren, and her guys, waste no time in searching for those final 2 pieces. It could mean the difference between life and death.
Once again, WOW! This book had quite the battle scenes, and I would put them up against any Star Wars battle scenes that I have read. I admit that even though Wren still gets on my nerves, I don’t hate her, I just find her annoying. When I start a book, they have have 3 stars, and I add and subtract as I go . . . And also, how I feel at the end of a book. It was a very satisfying ending, and Wren’s surprise at the end for Savannah and Jesse, was so touching that I did need a kleenex. I am sorry to say goodbye to these characters. I hope there is a sequel series that will follow the hunt for the rest of the Order acolytes hidden throughout the world.
While I find Wren annoying, I love every single one of her men. They have different strengths, characters and personalities. Honestly, if all four of them loved me, I wouldn’t be able to choose either. I do recommend the series. The books are not standalone, you’ll need to read them in order. While you won’t be completely lost, you’ll enjoy it so much more.
I’m writing my review after finishing all five book in the series… I wanted more from this series, but overall I enjoyed it. Like how you make you coffee the same way in the morning enjoyment. However if it’s spicy you’re looking for, think of this series as that meme that’s “generic white suburban taco night starter pack” in other words very MILD on the spice meter.
I liked the ending to this series. There have been so many twists and betrayals but I love that everyone received closure. I do wonder though how having all of that power will affect Wren in the future. As well as her children.
Overall the series was a good read. I ended up skipping large passages because it was very repetitive and there was a large amount of cliche phrases. Not my favorite read, but it was cute.
This is my first review, and I waited to finish the whole series before I wrote it.
This series had so much potential- badass lead female, RH of quirky hotties, fantasy plot that reminded me of Harry Potter but if they were all college aged. So. Much. Potential.
However, the writing itself was....awful. I finished the series hoping with each book that the author would learn and grow and improve but that didn't happen. It actually got worse. The repetition of phrases was glaringly obvious and annoying, the spice was mild and borderline cheesy. For having 4 bfs, there was not much actual spice, just a lot of immature and sometimes poorly-timed and inappropriate innuendos and tons of "heat pooling between her legs" all day every day. The relationship development between the characters was also seriously lacking- they just all decide to share this girl, and no one talks about it any further? The only affection throughout most of the books is in her annoying, receptive nicknames like her "sexy nerd" pushing up his glasses, or her "handsome illusionist" making her giggle. Over and over. It's like the whole romance part was thrown in as an after thought.
The plot was there, and strong, but the amount of fluff and complaining about "not being a damsel in distress" was repetitive, frustrating, and I honestly started skimming whole paragraphs to get to the good parts. The beginning started so strong with her being held captive by trolls and her escape and badassery- but even the effects of having lived with trolls for her teen years didn't seem to impact her much throughout the rest of the books. I would have loved to dive deeper into that, and the metereorite, and the Order. If we could cut the fluff, get a thesaurus and add some spice, it would have been perfect.
I eagerly read each of the Olivia Ash’s Blackbriar Academy series books when they came out. I simply adored this series. Since I somehow forgot to do reviews on the two prior books, I wanted to share some thoughts on all three.
I love everything about Blackbriar Academy. It’s a perfect setting for a fantastic academy reverse harem fantasy romance adventure series. I want to be Wren, as she’s just the sort of kick-a** and take no prisoners type of gal I wish I was, and her guys? Oh. Dear. Lord. I don’t know which one I prefer the mist but I do know that Soren, Gideon, Jesse, and Milo are one sweet package.
Following along as this gang deals with everything they get hit with in each book is one extended pleasure rush. I frankly don’t know how the author does it but somehow each book both gives you the same feel as the prior ones (a very good thing indeed) while still being incredibly imaginative and new. A neat trick indeed. The bottom line in these books is easy, and really the same for each: super exciting thrills and action plus great paranormal action in a wonderfully plotted and totally riveting story that well written and filled with well-crafted characters. What more could you possibly ask for?
I enjoyed this book. It picked up and carried the theme and storyline through. It did not give a great details as plots were revealed. Prof. Grey reveal could have given way to more sabotage, etc. No explanation that Prof. Grey is the alpha of the dire wolves. Also no explanation of the infiltration of the order among the students. There was no warning. In addition, how did Wren get the ability to heal others. When did this develop? I loved this series and felt that the story was a must read. I do, however, feel that the author could have taken more time to expound on some of the developments. I wanted to give this a 5, but in absence of some key explanations, I am giving this a 4.
Great finale for the series. There will be no dull moments for Wren and her guys as things with the Order come to a head. Wren discovers that there are pieces of her meteorite still in play, and she is determined that the Order will not use them against her. An old enemy will return to torment her and new foes will hide amongst the faculty. Not all the good guys are going to make it through the final battle.
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
I loved this series so much I’m completely and utterly devastated that this is the end of it! I can see so much more out of this series the ideas are limitless! If you ever get stumped I’d be more than happy to run a few of them by you if you can’t think of anything else to add to this series! You can contact me at Badblove1@gmail.com
Love a fellow author in the making pen name -Danielle Cook-
I loved this series as well as Olivia Ash's others. The trials in Wren's first year seemed fairly trivial for a magical academy but who am I to judge? Of course I've never faced anything quite like this. Wren is a strong, independent woman in love with four incredible men. Despite the romantic scenes there is a strong plot in each of the books making th em impossible to put down.
Wren is truly a bad ass! She's proven herself over and over and finally has everything she could ever want! There was so much action in this book and the writing of Olivia Ash brought it all to life. I was on the edge of my seat three oh ugh almost the entire book. What an amazing end to an incredible series!
Wait, I need more. This book was simply amazing and I can't believe it is over. I don't want to let go of Wren and the team, it sounds like they have so much more to do. This series was absolutely amazing and so well written. Olivia has so much talent!
This was an amazing series. Loved it from start to finish. There was no heat in this one though and and Milo was never included in the bedroom though he was part of her team. Great action and a fabulous ending.
Darlin Olivia Can definitely Spin a Tale. I tell you straight it has Excellent twists and turns that leave you gasping but happy by the End!! She most definitely has a gift!!
This is one awesome series! I love the story! Although i wish there was final book with the agreement that was done between wren and the men in book one to be wrapped up! Otherwise it is awesome series
