They couldn't be more different. Ridley is a knight in shining armour, so perfect in every way that it makes people hardly able to stand him. Prince Vandel on the other hand (a.k.a. The Evil Demon Prince of Darkness) is the sworn enemy of the kingdom, obsessed with gaining power and wearing beautiful clothes. The two young men are right out of a fairytale, practically made to be archnemeses...but what if they ended up falling in love instead?
You already know what it's about so let me give you the good and the bad.

There is much to gush about here. First of all the story itself is adorable. The two protagonists are charismatic and their personalities are so captivating. The supporting cast are interesting and feel integral to the plot. The chemistry between the characters felt real and the pacing of the story was really well plotted and I found myself enjoying it and feeling the same familiar feeling of emptiness when it all ended.
I'm legitimately off to pay for the comic's weekly releases now. All because I loved the novel version that much.
The humor was great and I cackled like a hyena so many times. The comedic timing was so on point.
Lastly there are a few steamy scenes and they were SO beautifully written. Not only that, but the author also handles all the mature content with care, so I feel.
••The not so great••
Self harm. It happens. I was not a fan of its inclusion. But I can't say if it's just me being uncomfortable or if it felt forced. Triggering topics: non consent in sexual context. Torture. Violence. Death. Familial and childhood trauma. There were also some grammatical errors that felt more like typos and oversights. They were few and far between, however.
Overall I felt none of the bad points were detrimental to my reading experience in a significant amount.
Reading this made me sick. I was expecting a cute, heartwarming story, what I got instead was a completely fucked up world, filled with violence and cruelty. What I thought was even more disgusting was the complete lack of morality. How are u You gonna portrait victoria as a hero???? She is a murderer, a sadistic psychopath. She caused percival death but using his unrequited love to trick him. She made stephan murder the king after also forcing him to betray the person he trusted just so that he could survive in her castle (all of this while he was a child). Then she kills him too. She supports and participate in that horror show where they trucidate and slaughter innocent people and children for their own amusement. I’m fucking sorry but if the knight’s father was a monster how is victoria not one? How is it that her son is all “omg i have to kill this guy that goes around slaughtering demons” but his own mother is a-ok massacring thousand of people. It made me sick. It made me sick how there is no justice, how there is no accountability. Not even for those demons that are named and shown to murder humans after treating them like objects. Again, I found this reading extremely disturbing and unsettling.
I really wanted to give it 5*, but I couldn't. Story was great and even though I thouht there were some plot holes and illogical plot twist, in the end it came out that everything actually make a perfect sense. Characters were great, so were their personalities. Maybbe it would me better if there were more description, but I still love the way the story was told.
I was reading the comic (which is excellent) and couldn’t wait for the weekly updates so I finished the tapas/wattpad novel. The story and concept are good, and the characters were all very likeable in all their flaws. Writing improves over the story.
Begging was really fun and I loved vandel's character and i loved situations he and Ridley ended up in. But from arranged marriage point it just falls of and gets worse and worse and more annoying. And vandel's character really becomes annoying
It’s been over two months since I read this, and am only just now writing a review. The plot was very engaging and I read this super fast - given that it was a wattpad book, I didn’t expect it to be on Goodreads! Luckily though, it was! Ridley and Vandal both had their quirks but the storyline was realllly good.
dont feel like i can really rate this. but I'm far behind on my Goodreads challenge so I felt i had to add it because this fanfic was so fuckin long it was the length of an actual published book.
