What’s a girl to do when her brother’s friend is a smoke-show that she can’t have? They want different things in life. Her brother has already told her to keep her hands off. And he kind of lives across the country… She shouldn’t jump into his bed. She shouldn’t wish they’d met under different circumstances. She definitely shouldn’t think about what forever would look like. But…she’s never been good at doing things the easy way.
Something True contains a lovable cast of characters, a generous dash of spice and a heap of sweet; the fourth standalone centering around Atlanta’s new hockey team and the fun that comes with them. This is a single-POV love story that you don’t want to miss!
In addition to the people in her life that indulge her crazy - Aja Cole loves men that smell phenomenal, food that tastes amazing, and something that college makes it hard to do called sleep. She loves feedback and hearing from readers, as her goal is to become better with every release.
Soon headed home to pick up the pieces of her happier life she makes a detour thanks to the concern of her brother. Though she's been explicitly told hands-off, she can't help but put hands all over Jackson's (love this hero) body. Jackson's been told the same thing and it works until Nomi makes him an offer he can't refuse. When she feels herself feeling more than she should, she hits the road back to where it all begin--home to face the music and start over.
Searching for a new job and wanting to forget about Jackson, she resolves to try to work on herself and then she discovers that she's about to embark on a journey she isn't nearly prepared for. Read it!
One of my favorite tropes - little sister and big brother's best friend.
I enjoyed the story of Nomi and Jackson but there was something missing. First of all, the story was only told from Nomi's POV which was a change. The previous 3 books in this series were told from dual POVs. I think in this book, the story would have benefitted from being told from both Nomi and Jackson's POV. We don't get to know much about Jackson. We all know that his wife cheated on him. We learned this in book 1 of this series. Do we know more beyond that in this book? Nope. Which is why I couldn't fully connect with his character and be invested in this romance.
Nomi and her family come out of nowhere. They weren't mentioned in previous books. How did Chris (Nomi's older brother) and Jackson become friends? We never get any background information on that relationship. A lot of stuff was glossed over or not fully fleshed out which is why Something True was a bit of a disappointment.
I'm Absolutely in love with this series and I hope that there are more books to come in this series.Jack's and Nomi just seemed to work from the very beginning.I loved their chemistry from the start and thought nomi needs someone like him .I'm glad that the douche of an ex got his just desserts,I only wished that it would have played out in the book and that Jackson would have got the chance to kick his was .I'm glad Nomi and Chris was able to talk and work things out because family is so important whether blood or not .I would highly recommend this series to anyone who looking for a great book of a great series to read about the Atlanta outlaws
I find it interesting that the author chose single POV for this book when the others in the series are dual. I was a little iffy on the h, Nomi, at first because I don't really agree with her handling of her surprise but I liked seeing her growth throughout the story. She and Jackson were so cute and even though we didn't have his POV it was nice seeing characters from the previous books despite that.
I’ve loved this whole series...each book is better than the next! Jackson and Nomi’s story was fun, dirty, full of emotions and more. While Nomi could be a bit strong willed at times, I saw pieces of myself in her. Definitely read this book and the whole series of you haven’t.
This was not as good as I would have liked. If they weren't fecking, she was bullying. People may call her a strong woman, but I call her stubborn and mean. Nomi was spoiled and childish. Jackson should have gotten him a real woman, not a baby in a woman body. I don't want to read the next one. So predictable.
Jackson and Nomi deserves the love that they bring to each other. Both of their exes were pieces of💩. Although Nomi's brother Chris told her not to take it there with his best friend. The chemistry between to two was to strong to pass up. Chris was on my hit list for a minute tho because Nomi didn't deserve the words he said to her. Glad they worked it out. 💜💜
I enjoyed this read. If you enjoyed the others in this series then you wont be disappointed with this one. Jackson and Nomi will definitely get on your nerves a bit but that's just because they act like real people sometimes. That's just good writing.
I loved it I'm fan girling right now I loved this book 📖 and the story line and how it progressed through out it...an it ended on a good note I loved all the books by this arthour an cant wait to see dom's story next
I continue to enjoy the boys of Hockey's love stories. I especially the truthful description of the postpartum with the baby being a premie and how mom and dad handles it. Hopefully next story is about Dom???
Although the relationship started backwards, the ending was an HEA. I wanted so much for Nomi's ex-husband to get a little extra in the end, but he wasn't even worth the effort. Can't wait for Chris's HEA.
