Are we using our smartphones today, or our smartphones are using us?

We would certainly like to believe the former but unknowingly we slip into the latter category. If by reading this story, we can critically examine our relationship with social media and reset it, the objective of the book would be partly met.

Satvik, Sandeep and Ashok are three college friends meeting in Goa after a 25-year gap. While reminiscing about their college days, they discuss the craze of social media these days. They chance upon an idea of creating ‘Paybook’ – a new social media app that pays the users for their engagements. The app becomes an instant hit. This, however, also unfolds a series of events that take the friends to the unchartered territories.

A major thought provoking question is asked by the author — "Are we using our smartphones today, or our smartphones are using us?". This question made me pick up the book right away, and reading this has been an experience of self introspection. The book is about these three main characters — Satvik, Sandeep and Ashok, whom I feel are our 3 ways of looking at social media and it's impact. We all are entangled in the clutches of social media and it totally depend son our perspective and mindset on how we decide to utilize social media for our own good. The plot is quite intelligently written and totally reflects the meticulous research done by the author. But at times, I felt that there is overdose of facts and trivia. But one can't deny that the book has a proper balance of facts and fiction. Overall, it's an engaging and enjoyable read.

This book...One of the best I have read. In the last decade, social media fan following and user base has grown by leaps and bounds. While we think that the technological advances have given us time to achieve whatever we want to but major chunk of that time is taken up by social media. This book essentially blurs the line between fiction and reality making us realize how much of us has been taken away by Facebook, Instagram and others.

What I loved -
(1) The topic is one of the most important in recent times.
(2) The title is one of the more suitable I have seen for the book.
(3) I loved the way author has touched various subjects ranging from Bitcoin to the Blue Whale Game. It's really a difficult task to effectively integrate various societal aspects in the main narration one wants to build.
(4) The writing style is simple, lucid and very easy to follow. 'Just what the doctor ordered'
(5) For most parts character build up were also beautiful.

What could have been better-
(1) To me the ending felt a bit abrupt. After all the hard work, a little more effort there could have done wonders

This story is a simple one but it gives us a big message on the use of social media.

Three friends Ashok, Sandeep and Satvik reunites in goa after 25 years for a vacation. Soon they started to share their memories like games they have played in past. Then they discuss about today's generation who uses smart phone for playing games and then they discuss about widespread use of social media.

Ashok doesn't use social media at all but Satvik is opposite he uses it more. But sandeep was middle of it. While discussing they gets a business idea to launch an app called Paybook app which gives user the money for their engagement.

They soon proceeds with business idea and within one year it became more successful. The are of operation was in party office of Ashok as he is a Communist politician.

After that Satvik recevies a letter from Minister for a meeting . Minister tells Satvik that their app spreads fake information about their government so keep that in control. This is the turning point of the story.

What will happen to their business after this ? Who is spreading wrong information? Will they shut down their business ? Read the remaining story.

Other character which I love the most is Ramesh. You will find the importance of that character and the rehab run by him.

The language and narration is simple. And the author is successful in delivering his message . Also the author has done enough research in this topic. Especially in the matters related to brain, neurons , dopamine etc.

Overall my rating 4/5

“When Nokia launched their cell phone for the first time, their tagline was ‘connecting people’. That was a noble objective. Now, it has become connecting virtual people at the cost of real people.”

The book is an eye-opener in terms of social media influence over middle-aged people and millennials alike. The author delivers a complete package in which he puts forwards arguments against social media craze and virtual reality addiction, and also creates a fictional storyline to establish its perils. The story unfolds with three college friends Sandeep, Satvik and Ashok reuniting in a vacation in Goa. In between the fun and frolic, they begin discussing about the social media dominance in our lives, and the slow shift from conventional modes of communication to ‘one-click’ real-time online conversations over a virtual interface that had taken place in their generation. Tugged by childhood memories and nostalgia, they find themselves at varying stages of this smartphone addiction. As they judge the recent market craze and steep futuristic growth of the smartphone communication industry, the friends come up with the idea of a new social interaction app called Paybook. What makes this app different from the social media giant Facebook, is that Paybook works through remuneration. Users and content creators will be able to earn money in the form of virtual currencies that they’ll be able to redeem after periods of time. Being a fresh and unheard concept and promising a very steep acceptance rate, Paybook gains fast recognition. But soon hurdles appear in their path. On one side, the government IT department wants to censor the app to stop false propaganda, and on the other side, business organizations worldwide offer to buy the large catalogue of personal data and sensitive information that the app had managed to accumulate due to its constant usage by common men. But all hell breaks loose when its soon discovered that the app is slowly turning into a base to launch illegal businesses and is facilitating the infiltration of several anti-national groups. Amidst shocking revelations concerning the trio, will the business be able to stand and surpass the huge debt it was in?

The book focuses on various digital hazards that has the potential to shake the foundation of the 21st century. Being an expert in the communication and technological industry, the author has molded the fictional story in such a way that it runs into various prevalent dangers of the social media industry and exposes the adverse effects of it. The writing is backed up by power-packed, impeccable research on the history and future predictions of social media and virtual reality, and the seepage of this industry into other domains like behavioral science, cognitive science, psychology and non-technical job markets. Towards the end of the book the author sheds light to a way in which we can come out of this addiction and hence avoid its various ill consequences. With the incessant descriptions of social media hazards that an inexperienced reader might not be able to fully relate to, the actual plot-driven storyline often suffers. The pace of the story loses its consistency amidst the rampant conversational revelations that occurs throughout the book. These conversations are sometimes extremely long and one-sided and so they can’t give the flavour of an actual dialogical scenario. The over-pumping of technical details and subject-oriented matter makes the writing style a little too hectic to grasp in certain areas. Leaving aside the article-like look of the book’s content, the main story lacked a concrete climax. The crises that were established in the book promised of a very engaging plot denouement, but it was somehow dodged and not sufficiently addressed. The whole ‘digital detox’ and ‘mindfullnes’ part of the story that slowly carries the readers towards the end of the book seemed far-fetched and overstretched.

In all, I felt that the book had the capacity to deliver a great, wholesome content; but it somehow lost its way as it went on. The alarming research statistics and descriptions of the traps social media is laying before the current generation has been tactfully highlighted. I’d recommend this book to all kinds of readers, just because it talks about an issue that is slowly engulfing us in its shadowy influence.

The story is about a very common topic - 'social media and it's addiction'. The author lets us know about the pros and cons of social media through a story of three college friends who plan to start up a new social media app.

“All of us have a digital personality today that is more important than the real one. We all care for our virtual image on social media.”

Met after a gap of 25 years in Goa, three friends - Sandeep, Satvik and Ashok planned to make a new social media app - Paybook, a unique app which paid users for their engagement on the platform. On being successful, they again traveled to Goa, where they encountered a strange place which was a rehab for internet freaks. Yearning for more business, Satvik suggested a collaboration with the rehab owner but got rejected and went back. After a few years they started experiencing the fear of losing all their business because of lack of funds but there were other reasons for their downfall too. There was much more to the app which was hidden from the owners.

What was it? Will they be able to save their venture?

"No one wants to talk about losing, right? We all want to pretend that we are the winners. Our mind learns to even package our failure as success when it comes to sharing with others,”

The story is a light read with a lot of information which will help social media addicts to know the value of their time and happiness without the use of the internet. Since a lot of knowledge was imparted, it marred the fun of reading a story. I felt like I was reading a kind of self help book for a while. But I actually found some of the quotes too relevant for myself, as if they were directed towards me.

"For today’s generation, it is easier to chat using emojis than trying to read actual emotions from real faces,"

Overall, the characters were developed well and the twist given towards the end was appreciated. The writing was simple and understandable. The narration was slow and overall it was a satisfactory read for me.

Author Sunil Mishra never fails to amaze me. I’ve read his previous book, “Who stole my Job” and thus I picked up the new title as soon as I heard of it!

And to my expectations, this fictional story, “Who stole my time” is about how the reunion of three college friends, Ashok, Satvik and Sandeep, who meet after 25 long years and how they end up with a random idea to create an app just out of a casual conversation on how social media is ruining the lives of today’s generation. But they also realise that not everyone has the same opinion so they decide to use it in their favour thus crafting “Paybook” app.

I loved the character development of the three friends as well as Ramesh, the person running a rehab. Just like the previous book, this one also has a reflection of the author in the style of writing. You’re sure to enjoy this book if you’ve read his previous one and if not, still this is a good read as the plot is extremely relatable for the young generation. However, I am a little disappointed by the cover design of this book, although it goes fine with the storyline but it sure could have been much better. Also the title no wonder gives us a clear picture of the author because of the previous title but again, could have been better in terms of the new book.

Overall, it was a good read.

I picked up this book and just read the first lines mentioned at the beginning and it just gave complete idea. Here are those lines.
“We don't have Wi-Fi, talk to each other. Pretend it is 1995."
The book immediately stole my attention as I read the location is Goa. Goa is my most favourite place and I have memories attached with that. And most importantly I can recall all the mentioned locations. Three friends Ashok, Satvik and Sandeep reunites in Goa after 25 years. Core concept of their discussion is social media. They developed an app and their business idea was successful but after a year they faced an issue or complain. Read the book to unfold further plot. I liked the concept of the book. The book is written in simple and easily understandable language so that everyone can pick it up. I liked how the story took it’s course. It’s the unique most concept I have ever come across. I liked the twist in the story. Overall good one. Recommended from my side.

Satvik, Sandeep and Ashok hit upon a great idea to monetize the growing craze around social media, but soon they realize social media is a bane. This book is all about this bane and its side effects.

I wouldn't call this one strictly fictional. A just description would be a debate between people who are against and for social media. It is timely mediated by a diplomatic guy.

The facts were accurate, eye opening if you're not really aware of how Facebook is killing your brain ( jk Zuckerberg, you're bae!) and how much time you're wasting ogling at others! Do not expect an elaborate storyline or plot! It's an informative book, all in all.

✨Characters : Ashok turns out to be a jerk and Sandeep is the techie you always wanted to be. Satvik is relatable and pretty much the main guy. There's nothing spectacular about any of them. However, Ramesh - a probable stand in for the author - has a nice back story. But again, I did not expect a lot or character development as the book is purely about Social Media and it's harmful effects.

✨Book in a line : Social Media : A Bane or a Boon?

✨Favorite lines : "It was not Gods that created humans but humans that created God to run their own business or to exercise power and control. However, this revelation brought the humans back to square one – what was the purpose of human existence."

‘Who Stole My Time? : Reclaiming ourselves from the Social Media Trap’ by Sunil Mishra is a book that revolves around three friends Ashok, Sandeep and Satvik. The three friends meet at Goa for vacation after a long period of time where they come across some funny sign boards which would scare most of us today. These sign board invoke a conversation among them where they reminisce about their old days when they were kids and they compare the kids from this generation who are mostly into mobile phones. While all this is going on they all of a sudden stumble upon a business idea which revolves around what most of us like doing i.e. using social media. Soon, people are crazy about the app and it is hit in no time for the trio! Everything seemed to be going well when they start facing the unexpected. What are these funny sign boards that create a vast discussion among the trio? What are the problems that they will face? Will they be able to overcome the obstacles that they are facing? To know more read ‘Who Stole My Time? : Reclaiming ourselves from the Social Media Trap’.

My Thoughts:

The plot is well written and I must say that it is very well researched. Most of us have gotten so busy with social media that we hardly get any time to talk to our friends or our family. Social media seems to have become a very important part of life now to the extent that now a day’s people allow their social media followers control their life. I liked the way the author has explained how internet or social media is taking over our life.

The characters are well developed and relatable. We all have experienced what these characters have gone through and hence we can relate to them. We ourselves don’t think how much time we waste using social media and when we get addicted to it. This has been very well explained in the book through the characters.

Language is simple and lucid and the narration is well done.

Book cover is simple but conveys a whole lot of meaning and somewhat reveals what the plot is all about. The title of the book is also very interesting and apt to the plot.

Overall, I feel that everyone should read this book and try to reclaim themselves from this social media trap as the book says.

Review :- ⌛As in today's world Social Media, using of smartphones has always been very helpful, but somewhere we find In today's world we see people using their smartphones in such a mood that, how and when their time runs even, we cannot figure out!. We just keep on scrolling and scrolling for hours and hours and we realise indirectly that we are not using them, in fact, they are using us.
.⬇️ ⌛Our mind has become so addictive to it that once even we are busy into something, at the back of the mind you will give a thought about just checking your mobile phones, ur social media feeds for at least once, in order to get the satisfaction that you haven't missed out anything.
.⬇️ ⌛And this has changed every aspect of things. People have emotions through emojis rather than saying it face to face, people tend to sort out problems while talking on calls rather than meeting and facing each other and missing that touch of humanity, innocence, love etc.
.⬇️ ⌛This book surrounds three pals who meet after a very long duration in Goa and through this, the author indirectly specify the motive of this book. I appreciated the way that the author has made realise about the reality if today's circumstances going throughout the people's mind.
Overall it's a great short and recommendable read.⏰⬇️

Who stole my time by sunil mishra alerts the reader on the issue of social media & digital world. The story is formatted in a rational manner with Ashok, Satvik & Sandeep. The book starts with the criticism of online platforms like Fb & others in Goa trip of this trio which results in a form of a new startup called paybook- a new concept of social media that includes virtual reality & direct enrollment of human as a digital character. But here arises the question that how someone can evade from the negative impacts. The same thing happens with these friends & they realise how the virtual platform snatches the reality of life & put someone's life at risk & also how it influences mental health.⠀
.⠀
The book examines problems with everyone. From an old person to children & a working-class to the domestic one. It discusses the gaming culture, gambling on digital platforms & privacy factors also.⠀
At the introductory stage, we can say that it is a general nature to criticise the another & putting your creation at that place can be a good task but it's not always. These three friends tried to make a better platform but at last, some incidents changed their thinking & finally they made the best one { it's a unique idea }⠀
.⠀
So I feel that the book tells the facts through fiction as we already know but the thing that makes it interesting is the hit & trial nature of social media startups. ⠀
It can be a good read you juveniles who really addicted to social media & loses their productivity.⠀
.⠀
The storyline is simple. The author puts the problem first & then suggests a better answer on the form of an idea which can change the bad omen.⠀
.⠀
On the basis of content & idea, it's a 🌟🌟🌟 read for me. If you want to read something of social media crisis it can be a good pick.⠀

MY TAKE:

The story begins with 3 college friends meeting after a 25 year gap & how their discussion about social media gives way to a start-up, an app & how gradually on the journey, each of their true facets come out & how their lives change.

In-between this StOrYLiNe, we get a lot of knowledge about social media handles, fake likes & engagements, Maslow's Hierarchy- aww how I remembered my MBA classes here😍 & economics & about the demographics of people, about the privacy of our data & a lot lot more!!

All of this but the lang. is fairly simple & the read is very very in context with the present times.

I really loved it & their was not a single minute of monotonous stuff or boredom.

It submerges & enlightens you as you go along.

We need a phone life balance in our daily lives to manage stress.

Technology is not a Gillian, but it needs to be managed to realise our potential.

The story presents a problem as we go forward but a solution too, in the end.

#qotd Do you know the biggest reason for our stress today❓
#aotd It's technology enslavement which causes anxiety & doesn't let us live in the moment.

Are we using our smartphones today, or our smartphones are using us?/
~Sunil Mishra, Who Stole My Time

Book:- Who Stole My Time
Author:- Sunil Mishra(@sunilmishra)
Page count:-133
Genre:- Fiction

Book Description:- We would certainly like to believe the former but unknowingly we slip into the latter category.

▪︎
My description and point of view:- This was a book which made me realize how much today's generation uses the social media. And in midst of it, what happens when you be in a old coffee shop with no wifi connections. Seems Nostalgic, right?

This story revolves around the 3 friends, Satvik, Ashok and Sandeep who meet after a 25 years. They discuss how their lives changed and they all bring up a question,
'Are we using Smartphones today or are smartphones using us?'
▪︎
The book was written with a great plot and strong message. The storyline is as cool as the book is. The cover is apt and the language was good.Talking about the blurb,it was attractive.
It was a book that could be re-read. Overall its a good book.
I personally recommend this to everyone reading this review.

A captivative read, revolving around the things which we have missed in the quest of attaining technological superiority. It's supposed to be a happy get-away of three college friends, but they got a fourth member to their reunion uninvited - Technological Gadget. The stories explore whether the extra member serves a boon or bane of their happy times.
*
The writing style is lucid, conveys the multilayer of social hazards which has been slowly infused into our system in a bewitching way. The plot has been set in GOA which gives a refreshing feel. Characters and their backstories are well depicted.
*
There are many things to which our addiction to social media has been wittily compared. The best one would be the drug-addict on beachside commenting 'The cellphone that all of you carry is a bigger drug than this cannabis. And you all are addicted to it. I can still live without ganja for days, but none of you can live without your phones even for a few days.'
*
Quotes like these - "We have moved from 'internet cafes' to 'internet-free cafes' as the new trend."- waggle your senses to realize what have we gone through blindly in the pursuit of being socially active. This definition of Facebook from the novel -"Facebook is unhappiness bundled as happiness – it is essentially a fake book."- is a wakeup call for sapiens to actualize the damage done.
*
The essence of maintaining a balance is well emphasized. I would recommend this book to people who find themself glued to their gadget screen for most of the day- pause yourself and indulge in this book. It will definitely be worth it.

“Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend.” – Theophrastus.
How true are the above words? All most of us do today is spend time on our phones. The smartphone has become an essential part of our lives. Of course with any technology, there is good and bad. As much as smartphones and social media keep us connected, they are addictive as well. This book is aptly titled and sheds light on the effects of social media on our lives. The cover also delivers a strong message. The amazing part of the book is that it gives so much information without being preachy. That’s one good reason to pick up this book.
The book starts with three friends Satvik, Sandeep and Ashok from the IIT Delhi meeting after a long gap of 25 years. They go to Goa for a vacation and spend time in a café with a no phone theme. That gets them talking about how social media has become so addictive and how people forget to live in the moment. They recollect their memories of life before the smartphone. They share about the games they used to play and how much time they spent outdoors. While on the topic, they come up with an idea of creating a social media app called ‘Paybook’ that pays the users for their engagement. How the app works out for the three friends is the rest of the story.
The author gives more information as a discussion among three friends and it makes it easy to understand. The characters are so relatable. We would have seen all the three friends in our circle. In fact, we would have discussed the pros and cons of social media too. But this book shows that research has been done to explain in detail about the brain and neurons and how excessive use of technology can affect the brain. One standout character in the book is Ramesh who runs a rehab center. It is eye-opening at many levels. I would rate it 4/5 for this brilliant book that focuses on the real issue we face today. Especially it is a read for the millennials who have not experienced the pre-smartphone era.

If you are someone who is looking for a completely different tale then this is the best book for you.

Who Stole My Time By Sunil Mishra is a fiction that every human being using social media should read. From the title, this book sounds like a non fiction but it's one of the best fiction I have come across.

𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 :

It's a story of three friends who meets in Goa and decides to launch an app called "Paybook" that pays users for creating entertaining content. Suddenly the name of their app gets viral and they have lakhs of users. Is the story done here? No. They eventually get into some trouble that completely shakes their life. How they will come out of it? Read book to know!

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗗 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 :

I personally like detailed books and this is one of them. I liked the examples that author has penned down to clear his point much better. Also there was a lot of things that were put here after some research, something that I admire always the most.

𝗪𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗧𝗬𝗟𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗥 :

Writing style is perfectly lucid and without any grammatical errors. Also, author has very well maintained the flow of story by choosing the right words. Even beginners can read this book because of the powerful and simple words.

𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 :

I will recommend this book to every person who uses social media because it was very informative for me as well to know so many things about start ups, success and definitely mindfulness towards the end of this book.

Go on Amazon and purchase this book for yourself NOW!

We all are aware about the pros and cons of social media. We might think that people spending their time on social media doesn't do any productive work in their gadgets.

So rhe story revolves around three college friends Ashok, Satvik and Sandeep. They meet in Goa after long time, almost 25 years. They talk a lot about their memories, mischevious activities. Just imagine you and your friends meeting after long time, that's what exactly happened. They came up with an idea creating an app known as "Paybook". So basically, the app was for earning money based on their engagement on social media. All three people were different , Ashok was from political party whereas Satvik and Sandeep were aware about the social media and it's features.

In between the book you are going to know many facts about social media. Putting up knowledge and story alongwith is a unique experience ever. Social media became a part of our life. Some people knows it's pros and cons and some don't... Social media is help ful if One uses in right direction...

So what do you think?

They'll be successful in their app?
Will Ashok be able to understand all these things?

It's a short read, fast paced narration. Information along with story has created beautiful concept. Language of the story is easy and lucid. Characters are well developed in the story. The way author has described technology is amazing, putting his own efforts and research makes the book more informative, helpful and an interesting read.

An engaging read

“When Nokia launched their cell phone for the first time, their tag line was ‘connecting people’ that was a noble objective. Now, it has become connecting virtual people at the cost of real people”

I always who is using who. Are we using smartphones? Or the other way? I know sometimes we postpone things and scroll down the feed without guiltiness. Yes, are addicted to smartphones and losing out valuable time in it. I’m not an exceptional one. Shall we able to live without our phones for a week or a month? That freaks outright. Even if we do so, we might feel like we aren’t connected with the world. But are connected with our society right now? That’s a question mark.

The book “Who stole my time” by Sunil Mishra is an insightful read and an eye-opener. It flashes out hoe social media influence us. Last week, I heard the news that a college student committed suicide as he lost his savings in an online poker game. He died and someone earned money who might be rich already. Social media and its cons are vast topics where a day is not enough to discuss.

The author sets out a fictional world around this concept phenomenally. It is a story of Satvik, Sandeep and Ashok. They decide to create a new app Paybook. Through this app, a user can earn money for their engagement. After a few years the faces a downfall. Of course, we all have a story of failure and success. Likewise, find out their story by grabbing this book. character and plot are well developed.  There are informations which provoke your thought process. Overall an engaging read.

Interesting read

𝑵𝒂𝒎𝒆: Who Stole My Time
𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓: Sunil Mishra
𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒓𝒆: Fiction
𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕: Kindle
𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒔: 133
𝑴𝒚 𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: 3.5/5
𝑺𝒚𝒏𝒐𝒑𝒔𝒊𝒔: Satvik, Sandeep and Ashok are three college friends who have come to Goa for a reunion, after 25 years. They have a fruiful interaction about the pros and cons and social media that eventually develops into an idea of a new app called Paybook that pays people for engagement. The rest of the story focuses on how the app influences the lives of the friends and leads them to unknown paths.
𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘: The premise of the book is very interesting. The author has written a very good story about the influence of Social media and its effects on general public and even on the people who develop such apps or sites.
However, the discussion on the pros and cons of Social media and mobile phones between the three friends had taken up at least 30% of the book and that was a con for me. Although it may catch the fancy of some people who like reminiscing about the golden days, I am not one of those and hence, there was no sense of nostalgia for me. (That is my personal problem, I am not good with the past. 😅). If it were only about 5-6 pages, it would have been perfect for me.
But I do understand why the long exposition was necessary. To bring the story to track and to set off the main plot point, this was definitely necessary. So let my con not deter you from reading the book.
As for the character development, the main highlight of the book is focusing on the social media, so there wasn't much room for improvement on the characters. Although, we could have also been treated to the psychological effects that such conditions have on the minds of the characters in more detail.
However, the author has also attached brief biological mentions in the stiry and how they connect to the public and social media. It is seen that the author has indeed done some research on the subject.
If you are a fan of social media statistics and technology, I recommend you this book. The author has indeed taken a serious problem and turned it into a good story. #the_biblioscribe #recommends☝️

Who Stole My Time?: Reclaiming ourselves from the Social Media trap is the first book I'm reading of the author Sunil Mishra. And after I finish reading I can't seem to stop thinking about the fact that these aspects of social media and many of these insights that the author has written has a huge impact on me.

Author Sunil Mishra's thought behind this whole concept is amazing and Impressive. The book basically shows the current scenario of using smartphones and social media around the world and its impact on us in our day to day life. The story revolves around various topics of new social application, the difference of life before and after the smartphone, the struggles, decisions, and it also seems that author Sunil Mishra has done a great amount of research to write this book and has beautifully presented his thoughts and his intentions in front of us with this book.

Characterization of the stories is impressively done. The book is written in lucid language, making the book amazing and inspiring. The moment I started reading, I found the storyline to be written in a very creative, catchy way, and in a well-crafted manner. The 3 friends meeting after 25 years and discussing about the internet. It was really fun, too and the title is perfect and suits the story perfectly.

Overall I would like to say that one should definitely read this interesting and inspiring book and I am definitely recommending it to everyone.

Genre: General Fiction.

.
🌟🌟🌟🌟
.

.
"Are we using our smartphones today, or our smartphones are using us?"
This is the opening line of the book. .
.
How much time do you spend on your phone? Ironically I am writing about this on my phone. However, that's exactly what the writer's trying to tell us. It's good to use smartphones, it's not good to over use it. .
.
The story has three friends Ashok, Satvik and Sandeep who are vacationing in Goa (Okay their plan didn't got cancel... It's a book. Anything can happen in a book). The trio belong to 90s and have plenty memories of a smartphone free childhood. Ashok is all against social media while Satvik is obsessed by it. The trio hatches a plan to launch an app which gives you money for using it and they do launch one app named Paybook. (Again, it's a book. Anything can happen in there) You think it's such a great idea? Well think again? Still it's a great idea? You need to talk to Ramesh. Who's Ramesh... Just read the book and get your answer.
.
.
The story is plain easy and a bit cliché. There is dramatic elements to ensure reader engagement. The author has done his part of research. I would recommend this book to anyone who thinks that Paybook is a good idea. Also, to people who are free and want to do something worthwhile with their time. And people with obsessive compulsive disorder with your phone. Basically, everyone.

Title - Who Stole My time?
Reclaiming our lives from the social media trap

Author - Sunil Mishra

Kindle version of this amazing books contains only 134 pages.

The Author, Sunil, has tried to show a real life scenerio in the initial phase of this book.

He portrays that even though there is a beautiful scenerio and a beutiful background around the people, still, instead of enjoying this nature people are stuck to their own cellphone screens.

He has portrayed this whole book via the eyes of our three main protagonist friends : Ashok, Sandeep & Satvik.

These three friends met in Goa after many years for a vacation. And then all of a sudden they discuss a business idea..

Which later they work on and it turns out into a very big hit... Like a super hit..

And as it is said when you have something you try to get it converted into much better then what you have..

They plan some changes.. what are they? .. well for that you'll have to read this small but amazing read.

I think people can relate this book to their lives too..

Whenever I'm with my best friend's .. we definately discuss some ideas for business which feel so hypothetical.. but these guys tried it out for real.

It motivates such group of friends to work out on their ideas.

The plot it's amazing and the message it sends to readers is also good.

We are living in an era where our most of our time is consumed by our smartphones. Sometimes I wonder whether we own the smartphone or the smartphone 'owns' us. We kill our most of our time on social media and instead we could have done something productive during that. Also this leads to unhealthy lifestyle. So do read this book if you face this problem.
So this story is about three friends -Sandeep,Satvik and Ashok. They all meet in Goa after 25 years. They cherish their childhood memories and discuss the madness going on social media. So they create an app -'Playbook' that pays users for their engagement. What happens next you will have to pick this up.
So the plot is very refreshing and original. I loved the concept of it. I think this book goes with with our current situation. This book describes how our photos have stolen our happiness. I learnt so much from this. Like how to be productive and use our time well. Characters are well drawn through out the book. The narration is crisp and to the point. The story is fast paced and did not drag at all. A lot of research has gone into the book by the author ;which is clearly shown in the story. I would appreciate the author who showed us the mirror of ugly truth of today's world. I will recommend this to everyone if you are looking for a good read. I wish good luck to the author for his future projects

Realise by reading this book

As in today's world Social Media, using of smartphones has always been very helpful, but somewhere we find In today's world we see people using their smartphones in such a mood that, how and when their time runs even, we cannot figure out!. We just keep on scrolling and scrolling for hours and hours and we realise indirectly that we are not using them, in fact, they are using us.
Our mind has become so addictive to it that once even we are busy into something, at the back of the mind you will give a thought about just checking your mobile phones, ur social media feeds for at least once, in order to get the satisfaction that you haven't missed out anything.
And this has changed every aspect of things. People have emotions through emojis rather than saying it face to face, people tend to sort out problems while talking on calls rather than meeting and facing each other and missing that touch of humanity, innocence, love etc.

This book surrounds three pals who meet after a very long duration in Goa and through this, the author indirectly specify the motive of this book. I appreciated the way that the author has made realise about the reality if today's circumstances going throughout the people's mind.
Overall it's a great short and recommendable read.
