Catching up with the Kings and Marshels

A book for the fans. After everything that has happened to the extended Kings and Marshel families this is a slow down and catch book the is needed and if o read the epilogue correct a set up for another of the Guardian Defenders books.

The reason I said this book is for the fans is because it features the characters from the previous book, but unless those book have been read, the back stories are only hinted at here.

On a personal note it was great for me to have a book that focused mainly on the characters from the first book. Even though I have watched the appear in the other books of the series and grow into their new roles they have been more support then the main cast. It was great to put a couple of things to rest for them as well as seeing the happy and developed.

I have been a fan of the series since book 1 and will read every book in the series including the spin off. On a final note I love the the spin offs are included in the main continuity.

Take the warning to heart - do not try to read this book without having read the previous books in both the Kings of Guardian AND Guardian Security Shadow World series (you will have no clue as to what they are referring to and who is related to whom)!

I have to admit that I was worried about what was happening with Frank and the blurb did not alleviate my worries - I read the end first because I really needed to know what happened. So, I then read the story to see how we came to the conclusion, things happen for a reason - that's all I am going to say.

The WHOLE King/Marshall family is gathered in South Dakota for Christmas and I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE (42 people and if you are a follower of Douglas Adams - 42 is the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything!). Some are mere mentions, while the Mashalls and Wonder Twins play the biggest parts.

It's a heartwarming story of family. I absolutely loved that the Wonder Twins are back together and bantering (I have really missed it). Gabriel once again shows that he is truly the soul of Guardian Security, always finding the perfect shape to fill an empty hole and expanding Guardian to keep the world safe.

Stop reading the reviews, just buy it and enjoy!

A lovely Christmas treat

I love these sneaky peeks into the crazy that is Christmas for the King/Guardian family. It is so lovely to touch base and catch up with so many in this world, and once again we are gifted more pieces of the past and the backstory we didn't realise we were missing, but is a welcome addition.
I read this Christmas gift on Kindle Unlimited.

💋💋

Short novella that fills fans in on Franks illness and possibly his recovery too. Usual characters and a madhouse Christmas.
Great read for fans but if you haven’t read the series I suggest you do that first.

Incredible! I feel like Kris wrote this just as my Christmas present. I happened to still be awake when my phone beeped and told me I had it available on my Kindle and I ended up reading until it was finished. I love how it just put all of the last questions to end and still in Guardian fashion left me on my seat until the very last word. :) I love this Kris Michael's. Thank you for this Guardian Christmas present.

Love any chance peak at Guardian and the Kings!

Never am disappointed at a Guardian instalment. Love the depth of the characters, the banter, the family interactions. Just love it all. Have read them all and now listening to them from the beginning on audible too. I’m just a little bit of a fan! 5 stars! Always!

Hmmm money grabber

To many unanswered questions.
I wanted Zane and Jewell to have had babies. Adam and Keelee to have more. Justin and Dani more about them. Joseph to have a girl.
What happens to the twins. Stratus????

it was so nice to hear all about the brothers and the wives and the kids and the grandparents all come together. Questions in previous stories were answered especially Ethan and it was great to hear that some of the ladies we're actually settling in and enjoying their new life.
it was an awesome way to tie up some loose ends and it was nice to hear that John Smith was on the property and this was only because I have just finished reading/listening about John Smith.
thank you again Matt Haynes for a wonderful solo narration I just absolutely adore your voice for Joseph you just can't get any better than that story but when I think back now I realise that Jason and Tori had a pretty radical story to tell as well.
these books have been amazing and Ms Michaels you are an awesome author I'm just waiting for others to come out and to continue.
the other author I like to hear in these sorts of genres is Patricia d Eddy she seems to have the same mindset as you but I have listened to all hers as well.
next type of Black Ops book I will just have to wing it with a new author. I know Susan Stoker has some fantastic stories and I have listened to a lot of hers but sometimes they can get a bit generic and I think the ones I love the most I read first up so I just keep looking.. great wi d down and wonderful nostalgia...sad that their stories are over but enjoying heariing new names/teams which could be new stories😊🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

I borrowed Passages ~ Kings of Guardian ~ Book 12.5, by Kris Michaels fromt the Kindle Unlimited Program.

Christmas with the King-Marshall family at the ranch in South Dakota started with a list of all the Guardian families with children, which helped keep everyone straight in my mind as I read Passages.

Many unfinished details were finished, including what was in the broken unopenable box Keeley and Tori's mom left, what happened to Ethan Simmons, Dixon and Drake's younger half brother to protect him and his mom and the problems Frank Marshall faced with his health.

New plans emerged for new roles for many of the Guradian members and their families and Gabriel is out of retirement with his wife's blessings. Preperation for coming trouble is in the planning stages for ways to keep all of them procted. Plus they all had a wonderful family Christmas at the ranch. Now to read more to find out what is next.

Passages is Book #12.5 (novella) in the Kings of Guardian series by Kris Michaels. It is a perfect mix of action, romance, and family drama that was so easy to get hooked on. Each book spotlights a different member of the King ‘family’ - the elite operatives working for Guardian Security - so you get a fresh story every time, but with plenty of familiar faces popping in along the way.
The plots are fast-moving, with everything from high-risk rescues to international missions, but what really makes the series stand out is the loyalty, teasing banter, and the intense, heartfelt romances which gives all the action so much more depth.
If you like romantic suspense, military romance, or strong law enforcement vibes, intriguing characters, and a sense of found family, then this series is definitely worth diving into. It’s exciting, emotional, and just the right amount of addictive.
Happy Reading…

Okay.

As the author warns, you definitely need to have read the entire Guardian series and the 2 spinoffs series, Guardian Defenders (up to Gabriel’s story) and Guardian Security Shadow World (up to at least Lycos) because this is a Christmas Special reunion sort of book. We get to see the families and kids of the Guardians and the progress each past character has made in the lives. We find out Frank’s outcome with his health and a bit of back story about his first wife, Tori and Keelee’s mom. Everyone is sort of brought together in this book and it’s definitely one for fans of the Guardian world. It will not make sense if you haven’t done the required reading but at the same time, it’s not exactly essential reading. More indulgent and to a certain degree, it sets up future books in the world if there will be more.

I love the Guardian series, especially when the characters from one branch of the series crossover into the other stories. It gives it a realistic three dimensional feel. I really enjoyed this novella because it filled in a lot of the blanks I was missing from the one or two books I missed. and believe me that caused quite a bit of confusion.

I will agree with the author. Readers should not read these books if they have not followed the series from the beginning. The Guardian Security books are not stand alones. The good thing is that there are plenty of stories and interesting characters to follow. So it’s worth going back to the beginning to get started. Although it’s not the first book written, I do recommend starting with “Gabriel” in the Guardian Defenders series before reading book #1 in the Kings of Guardian. It’s the only book that gives the complete backstory.

Better and better

Their stories just get better and better. The intertwining of histories is smooth and very natural... Well - as natural as anything can be for a group like this!!
The bigger Christmas message about family ties -both blood and chosen - and futures and hope springing from messy pasts is a good one for all of us.
I would love to have seen a bit more of Gabriel and his brood. I'm sure that is coming up and will be awesome.
If you haven't read the previous books, don't start here. The relationships won't make sense and you will miss a lot of the humor. Put the tea kettle on and settle in. Read them all! Enjoy!

This novella once again features Christmas with the Kings at the ranch and the holiday is recognized but not the centerpiece of the read. Substantial threads left dangling from Dixon, specifically bad news Harvey, pivotal Frank and forward thinking Gabriel. While fans and completists will really enjoy the outing, readers unfamiliar with this world may find the names and relationships confusing and wonder why it got such high ratings.

I understand that this is a novella... but, I felt that too much was trying to be packed into this. I didn't really enjoy it... all of the visits felt so fleeting with very little depth. Liked the interaction with the twins & Ethan. The letters made me sad. I'm just glad that there was no reveal with Chance... that would've made me even sadder. And I don't like Joy/Moriah... haven't liked her in any of the books with the exception of Asp's tale. There is just something about her that doesn't gel for me...

So, an OK read... for me.

This novella provides an update on most of the characters from the Kings of Guardian, Shadow World and Guardian Defender series. We learn about their children and how life has been treating them since many no longer go out in the field. We also finally learn the specifics about Frank and his health issues.

It was nice to catch up with everyone and I’m looking forward to more in these series.

I do however have a lingering question. Who is Demos? This person has been mentioned in a number of the books, but I must have missed his book somewhere.

Passages

WOW! This story is basically a look back at everyone's lives. KeeLee and Tori finally got the jewelry box open to discover letters. The girls were shocked but their father was not. This story takes place around Christmas time. The twins finally got to meet their younger brother - thanks to Jillian and Joy. The organization is growing by leaps and bounds but the King family is able to handle the change. I am happy Frank gets to live longer and help out Gabriel. FANTASTIC job Kris! I would recommend this book!

Oh Frank

Frank is a teddy bear of a great man and he had me in tears. It is Christmas time again at the ranch and all the Marshall and King families and friends are back together. I loved catching up with the families and the kids. Ethan and the twins finally got to meet, the Shadows all saw each other happy and in love, big decisions for Guardian were made and more. This was a sweet story that really did a great job of touching base with the characters around a lovey holiday and family time!

The storyline centers around a Christmas gathering. The entire Kings and Marshall family including their extended family gather for Christmas due to an extenuating circumstance involving Frank Marshall.

I highly recommend that you read the previous Guardian books before you proceed to this one. We are allowed to catchup on the changes that are occurring in the lives of the Kings and other Guardian members. Revelations are revealed about Frank Marshall’s deceased wife. There is also an introduction of new characters and family members to the Guardian storyline.

You will gain more insight into how one becomes a Shadow for the Guardian organization. At the end of the book, there is an unexpected request from Gabriel to Frank. In my opinion, it feels like this story is setting up everyone in position for the conclusion of the series concerning the final challenge for the Guardian organization, the Kings and their families, and other key Guardian characters. Another great addition to the Guardian series !

Great book!

What a great book! Even though this is just a novella, I can see me reading it again.

I just finished reading Lycos based on the reading order in this author’s and loved watching the twins meeting their half-brother. I got all the feels reading about their interaction. They are so adorable together. Ethan is super smart & mature. I hope he gets his own book when he’s older.

It’s also interesting hearing about Gabriel’s plans for the future of Guardian. New changes and it’s exciting to see how the next books in these series turn out.

What a great update on everyone

Everyone made it to the farm for the holidays. This book give updates on how everyone is and after Frank's health scare it wad awesome that they all made time to be there. Ethan finally got to meet his big brothers. Dixon and Drake were so happy Ryan and Bethanie brought him for the holidays. I almost cried when Tori and Kelee read the letters their mom had left them twenty years ago and then when Frank read his. No matter what is going on, the family will always rally around if there is a need.

Amazing read!

I couldn’t put this series down. From book 1, page 1, I was hooked. I was captivated by the strong characters and the impeccable writing style. There were moments I laughed out loud and many moments where I was deeply immersed in the storyline. I’m sad that this series has come to a close and will miss the characters. Kris is an exceptional writer and I plan to read other books from her.

Brilliant

So this is a book that brings everything and everyone together. We get to see how Frank is holding up from his cancer treatment, we learn abit about Tori and Keelee mum and we watch all the Kings and shadows come together to celebrate Christmas with family. A great book the foundations are now laid for guardians next step.

Kris Michael's has done amazing things with these characters and I can't wait to see where the journey will take them.

A look inside the Guardian family

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers
The characterisation is outstanding as usual, and the book provides a fabulous fix for Guardian fans.
The ability to catch up with them all, to laugh out loud on one page and leak some tears on the next.
I love the Guardian series and can't recommend it highly enough but suggest that the reader starts at the beginning to obtain the best reading experience.

I loved this book! It sums up the aftermath of the stories in the first 12 books in this series and brings you back to what's really important... Family and the rollercoaster of lifes ups and downs and the joys of love that can be found if you are willing to open yourself to it. ❤

Phenomenal series!

These books get better and better and how they all build upon each other is my favorite part because you get all their stories told as time goes on. The bond between this family both blood and by choice is so strong and Kris has captured a world that while scary at times is one you want to be part of... to be a fly on the wall at their dinners and Christmas would be amazing!
