A second chance to make up for the mistakes of the past. A second chance at love.
Troy: I’ve settled in at Fort Dale with a great job at the clinic on base and I’ve even made a few friends. The nearby city offers all I need to enjoy myself on a night off, if you know what I mean. I was just starting to relax and think everything would work out when he walked into the clinic. Oscar Reyes, the man I fell in love with six years ago and who walked out on me because he couldn’t handle the thought of being out. I never thought I’d see him again, and now he’s here, tossing everything I thought I knew on its head.
Oscar: There aren’t many things in life that throw me off. Despite a bit of a temper, I deal with things quite well. The IED that took my arm, and left me with a permanent limp was hard, but after six months, I’m managing. Well, I was. Until I ran into Troy again. Just seeing him was enough to realize six years wasn’t long enough to kill my feelings. When I walked away, it seemed right at the time and my reasons haven’t changed. This time I’m determined to stand by that decision. Until I went and kissed him.
Oscar and Troy would have sworn six years was enough to make them forget. It wasn’t. When both men find themselves stationed at Fort Dale, staying away from each other suddenly seems impossible. Nothing has changed, including their feelings, it seems. But is it enough?

Definitely my favourite one yet, I absolutely adore a good second chances romance and this had all the right ingredients.
Troy was a sweetheart and Oscar's fears about being out felt completely believable to me, especially for how he was terrified of his brother's reaction.
Lots of angsty hurt/comfort and good grovelling made this a hit.
A wounded warrior and the doc get a second chance...
Tall Wounded warrior, Oscar, 28, is being reassigned after his IED attack took his right arm from the elbow down, and his limp is from shrapnel, plus he’s scarred and still needs more surgery. He must see the doctor at the clinic at Fort Dale, for his physical, where he finds someone he used to love. The doctor is Troy, also 28, Oscar’s heartthrob 5 years before. Troy has never gotten over his love for Oscar. Oscar is still in the closet to his brother, and worries about his reaction. Meanwhile Oscar and Troy finally get to discuss the hurtful separation, and each side is told. When the two men finally reveal that they do still want each other and are willing to try for it, they get busy with their sizzling sexy times. Now, as they are working at a second chance, Oscar’s brother pays a surprise visit. A charming story of rekindled love, and overcoming fears. Enjoy !
So far, this series has been very satisfying. Each book is not very long but gets their point across well. The first was friends-to-lovers, the second was enemies-to-lovers and this was second chance. They are not terribly deep and meaningful but each has a little bit of drama with a nice resolution, not too mention that I actually think they are written well too. I like the characters and there's at least one grumpy guy in each book which is a plus for me.
I am really looking forward to the next book in the series.
Loved this second-chance story! Oscar and Troy are great characters; I loved both Troy’s willingness to put the past behind their backs and Oscar’s strength to try again and overcome his fears.
It’s not often that you get a second chance at love. But with the amount of history that Troy and Oscar have between each other - the second chance might not be enough. Oscar has been content with staying in the closet; he doesn’t want to risk messing up his life or losing the only family he has left when they find out he is gay. He knew when he first dated Troy that they were in different stages of their sexuality - Troy being out and proud, Oscar keeping his a secret. They do no split on the best of terms, so flash forward six years, and when they meet again it still feels like the breakup just happened.
I really do enjoy second chance love stories and this one was a great one. Neither one of the men were ready to let the other go, but they both understood the hurt and pain that was caused six years ago. I thought this story was written very well, and it seemed realistic - the lengths they had to go through to rebuild trust, and see if they could even move forward. I also think the author did a great job in balancing the emotional and the physical connection between the two men. There reunion wasn’t all about the physical aspect - but there are some quite steamy moments between the two men so you’ll have that to lighten the mood. This books wasn’t a very long read - so it would be a great afternoon read, if you’re looking for a quick second chance romance.
*4.5 stars - I received an Advance Reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Another good one in the series, and this one focuses on second chance love, which I admit I don't really fancy much, because most of them doles out way too much drama that I sometimes cannot stand.
Sure, this one has drama, but I will say that it is just enough to carry the story along without making it tedious. The push and pull, the flashbacks, it was enough and it didn't hinder my enjoyment of the story.
This one was about Troy, whom me met in the earlier two books, and his first and only true love from six years back, Oscar. Troy was fun, easy-going and quite nosy as we had seen before, but we can see the vulnerable side to him in this. His penchant for rotating bedfellows and his snark masked the pain of being walked out on six years ago by Oscar and the pain was raw and real.
As for Oscar, who has always been too afraid of being outed as gay and seen as an oddity or worst, a freak, it was the fear of losing his only family his brother that drove him to finally break it off with Troy, thereby breaking both their hearts. Although unfathomable to some why he had to hide his sexuality, we can all appreciate the insight to his past and his life to at least have a sense of understanding why.
The magnetism, and push and pull of both Oscar and Troy played out quite nicely by the writing, and the pacing was unhurried and switched between their individual perspectives and flashbacks nicely and quite smoothly. I liked that they were given ample time to work things out, and not simply falling into bed way before any resolution of any sort was worked out. It helped to give enough tension and hook to the story to kept me reading on.
An amusing thing to note though, was that both he and Dean ended up with grumpy men which seemed oddly coincidental, but not altogether unsual.
This is one of the best of this series if only because Troy and Oscar are so well defined throughout, even to the point where their relationship hits the truth-or-consequences stage.
The blurb tells the story, the characters do the rest easily. This is one of my shorter reviews because it's such an uncomplicated read from the start--you know what's happened, what is likely to happen, and then when it doesn't happen the way you expected, you are nonetheless happy.
I really enjoyed Here We Go Again. We got a wonderful story, learned about disabilities and visited with some old friends. As the mother of an amputee, stories like this go along way to acceptance. Thanks for wiring another amazing story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This seems to be my usual feelings with Romeo's grumpy sunshine couples, I loved Troy and my heart broke for Oscar. Some things I really appreciated were how Troy's old attraction to Oscar was completely unchanged and because of his medical background he was neither too shocked nor too worried about Oscar's wounds. And, the fact that they had never stopped loving each other.
Also this book really sent me down a rabbit hole of researching sexy wounded soldiers and veterans which I truly enjoyed (it was obviously all only for research purposes to figure what Oscar looked like 😉)
I've been meaning to catch up on (binge-read) the rest of Romeo Alexander's works for a while now. I just realized that most of the Men of Fort Dale novels are relatively short, so here's to binge-ing. "Here We Go Again" is the third book in the series ["A second chance to make up for the mistakes of the past. A second chance at love.

When I first read the blurb, my immediate thought was "my poor sweet sassy Troy!" When I got to know Oscar, my thoughts moved to "and my poor sweet sassy grumpy Oscar!"
They were meant to be, two puzzle pieces that fit perfectly, two souls finally reunited. It sucks that life through so many wrenches in their lives, but without those, they wouldn't have made it back to each other (and in the right place, time, frame-of-mind to finally be together).
And as I say "my poor boys" in my head again.. YES, I do realize they are grown (fictional) men who are whole-ass soldiers. They can still be "my poor boys."
Trigger Warnings: war, war-zone, violence, major injuries, PTSD, and more.

I never thought I’d see him again, and now he’s here, tossing everything I thought I knew on its head.,/i> I've read almost everything this author has ever written, and the guys stationed at Fort Dale have become wonderfully warm and familiar folks for me. Troy and Oscar are simply great, Troy is loving and carefree, but yet very "goal oriented". He's not afraid to go at it with Oscar. He's got a steel spine, but he knows how to bend when he should or has to. Oscar on the other hand is an opposite. He's damaged both physically and mentally, yet he's still strong and very determined. He's been in the proverbial "closet" his entire life, and it's cost him the most important thing he's ever known...Troy. This is Oscar's chance to fix things...that is IF he can let go of his fear.
I really liked this book. It's extremely honest when it relates dealing with the physical disabilities and the consequences of fear. The relationship between Troy and Oscar is rather like an open wound and far from perfect, but you can feel it in the words; it's so real. You'll be pulled head and heart into their story; I read the book in its entirety, 190 pages, in one afternoon. I couldn't put it down. There are also glimpses of characters from other books in the series, and we got to see them through different viewpoints.
Another great addition to an excellent series. I have the next one and can't wait to revisit with these men.
Author Romeo Alexander & John Harris - This series a true hit! Men of Fort Dale!

V2, S2 this is 4 Book M/M Military Romance so openly gay & others just figuring it out or coming out of the closet. When you find the one, then you fight for what is yours!🌈
Storyline: Oscar is out of sorts. He is now stationed at Fort Dale perhaps for the unforeseeable future after an IED left him scarred, shrapnel in his hip and took off half of his right arm.
Troy is the one that got away, mainly because Oscar was too stupid to realize what he had. When he left Troy it was on unpleasant terms and of course the medic that is going to give him his clearance physical is going to be the guy that never left his heart. The two still feel the chemistry but no way is Oscar going to act on any impulses. He refuses to consider the options of being out. He fears being true to himself will come with too big a price tag. The best intentions are often forgotten In the heat of the moment and despite his concerns the pull towards Troy is too strong. Troy really cares about Oscar but how can he chance having his heart shattered again?
The two danced around their feelings until they had to confront reality. Soon the easy comfort in being with Troy is the balm for Oscar's battered life. Troy is a free spirit and can he manage to keep the relationship between them? I highly recommend this pulsating romance that was wonderfully portrayed with two equally stubborn but perfect for each other men. Happy Reading!
Audio: Narrator, Michael Ferraiuolo Mr Ferraiuolo kept a nice easy pace and his narration flowed smoothly. He effortlessly changed his tone for each character and it was easy to tell who was speaking. He added the perfect amount of emotion onto the more touching scenes. I absolutely recommend this wonderful audio version and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Happy Listening!
I’ve been binge listening to this series and I continue to be smitten with Michael Ferraiuolo’s performance of the books.
Troy and Oscar had a thing six years ago but Oscar broke it off because he wasn’t ready to come out – to his family or anyone else. Troy was left heartbroken and determined to just have a good time with guys after that; no more relationships for him. When Oscar comes back into Troy’s life it really shakes things up and soon, they are back at it again – but still in secret.
This story has a few tense moments when Oscar’s temper gets the better of him (not with Troy) but I can’t say more without spoilers. Second chance stories are a favorite trope for me and I really loved that these two guys finally were able to sort out their problems and be together.
I’ve really liked how the books in this series are connected but can be read as standalone stories. I actually didn’t realize at first that some of the stories take place at least a bit concurrently with each other. I’ll be moving on to the next book now.
We met Troy in book one and he was a pain in the neck for Dean! That's not how he really is. He put on this brave, smirky attitude to hide his pain. He and Oscar had the perfect romance, or so he thought and then it was gone. Just like that! Oscar couldn't face his feeling about being deployed so he ran. Now, they're back at the same post, Fort Dale, and it's not easy to stay away. Oscar doesn't want a relationship but can't seem to stay away from Troy. Troy just wants him to make up his mind. He would love a second chance but is not gonna be kept hanging on a string. I love this author's writing. He gives a real life feel to his character's relationships. If you like military romance, this is for you. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
I'm was a bit disappointed by Troy before the end. I knew it had been 6 years but with the way Oscar had left him ? I thought he was too forgiving, too fast... and it blocked me from getting into their story between, I'd say 50 and 80% of the book. The book was as fine as the others but I didn't feel the chemistry between them because all I saw was Oscar being a coward and treating Troy like shit and Troy letting him... The last 20% saved the book because I finally saw that Troy hadn't "let" Oscar do anything but he was in fact trying to push him in the direction he wanted, giving him a chance not for Oscar sake but for himself. I still would have understand more anger and still think Oscar would have been the one who had to try but, hey, it's their life and their relationship. Oscar was just a very lucky bastard to have Troy willing to fight for them !
Troy & Oscar: A second chance romance. Oscar stumbles into the clinic where Troy works on the base of Fort Dale. What are the odds? Neither is quite ready to let go of the past. Both the love or the hurt that came before. Oscar comes back from overseas physically different from when he left. He can't help but notice that Troy looks at him like he's whole, missing an arm and having a limp make no impact on Troy other than an afterthought to make sure he's taking care of himself. Troy has been dating around, nothing serious. He doesn't want to feel the way he felt when Oscar left and refusing to get close to anyone is a sure way to avoid that. This is a sweet story of love that gets a second chance.
On A Serious Note This Book Is Simply Spectacular. by and1515
The pain and anguish Oscar endures because he lets fear of being rejected hijack his mind so he leaves not willing to lose the only family he has. Troy was left behind blowing in the wind. So what happens when you come face to face with someone you never thought you'd see again? And when said Mr.Grumpy pants rescues him from a touchy situation and then proceeds to lecture him on his reckless behavior. Lets talk about the proverbial elephant in the room sorta speak. But seriously can they leave the bad feelings and pain in the past to move forward together? Can Troy really trust Oscar not to run again? As I've been sitting here pouring out my review I got to thinking and my snazzy advice would be for Troy to invest in a few pairs of handcuffs and duck-tape.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I'm gonna start to sound like a broken vinyl. Again, this wasn't long enough. Especially now that the storylines are colliding more, it's taken the focus off our main characters, which i love when books interweave to give other PoV and expand on detail but not when you lose precious time away from the MCs current plot. The pacing was off. It went too fast, with missing plot and character development. This would have been a great opportunity to show more detail on injured soldiers and how they cope. The spice was barely there, and wasn't even worth the time and space.
Love cycles or instant replay? Practice makes perfect.
Troy and Oscar had spent a year together before Oscar called it off before a deployment. After six more years they were back together at the same base banging their heads together instead of their hearts.
But the residue of ear games and drills made it helpful for Troy the medic to care for Oscar in more ways than before. Pain is much easier to ignore if distracted by love, even if your love is a pain. The meds do not work well on love pains. Just ask Gabriel, Oscar's brother the psychiatrist.
Troy and Oscar are very cute together! Oscars worry about coming out to his brother was well written and resolved in an awesome way. The spice in this book is minimal, however their chemistry more than makes up for that.
The Men of Fort Dale series is not life changing by any means. They are cute, very easy to read MM romances for when you want to not think too much!
The early part of the story was a little "meh" for me. I felt like it was a bit draggy and was irritated by Oscar's indecisiveness. But then the later part got so much better and made me love the characters. Troy is an amazing and supportive character. He is timid and scared of getting rejected but courageous in grasping Oscar. Oscar was an annoying grunt but romantic in so many ways.
Second Chance dual point of view Best if 1 in series is read first.
Oscar has landed in a long term position finally and is hoping for quiet and the ability to heal. He is not expecting to run into the only man he’s ever loved and left for fear of revealing that he’s gay.
They were very sweet. Really liked how funny Troy was.
I was captured by the beginning of the story line and I loved every single moment that happened that brought these characters together. There’s so much drama and emotional events that brought them together and through their lives they have found happiness together forever.
I absolutely loved this book! I loved the flashbacks and how they help to develop the relationship between Oscar and Troy. And I love the scene between Oscar and Gabriel when Oscar comes out… it was so comforting to see Gabe accepting Oscar for who he is with no questions asked. And I love the epilogue but definitely wanted more from this story! Can’t wait to read the next one!

Book 3 in this amazing series. We learn more about Troy, and his first and only love Oscar - who left him years ago. This is a very good second chance romance. Oscar is still in the closet, and has to work out his feelings. I am not a fan of hot-cold situations. However, it was a great read. Very sweet HEA:
Being the third part of this series, characters featured in the previous books are now intermingling and adding extra details. This episode has a second chance romance. Both MCs were still hurting after their breakup and obviously still had feelings for each other. It is straightforward and easy to read.
This will never be one of my favorites simply because I am not a big fan of the second chance trope. Other than that, though, I really liked it. Both guys are compelling and likable. They work well together. I also liked the fact that Oscar had been pretty severely wounded and was dealing with pain and all the mental issues that come with that. (Though, it was certainly not a focus.)
