Hunter Wolfe’s life has been a revolving door in the penitentiary system of Saginaw and Detroit, Michigan since the age of eighteen. After witnessing the brutal murder of his mother as a young boy, his world changed, the trauma molding him into a juvenile delinquent his grandparents could no longer control. A suspected psychopath, it was no surprise to anyone in his circle that he became a weapons enthusiast and ruthless street boxer. Despite what many believe, though, Hunter’s heart beats for a select few—such as his dying friend, Noah, who has given him a set of tasks to complete on his behalf. Somewhere along the way, though, the unimaginable happens…

Nita Percy is a hardworking single mother living in Detroit, Michigan. The last thing she needs is a hulking, beastly felon like Hunter hanging around her home, but her hands are tied, seeing that her daughter’s best friend’s father is about to draw his last breath. As time passes, Nita realizes appearances can be deceiving and sees through Hunter’s gruff exterior. As a friendship begins between them and their physical attraction grows stronger, she can no longer fight her desire for him, no matter how hard she tries.

But there’s one question she can’t answer: Can Wolfe truly be trusted?

With one afraid of giving his heart, and the other terrified of heartbreak, will they be able to overcome these obstacles and start anew?

Tiana Laveen has done it again. This story was rich, so many layers.
The evolution of Hunter "Tyrant" Wolfe has left me speechless. Nita & Hunter were a great match from the start. Tyrant even said it himself; around her he was comfortable. He could just breathe.
BTW: the love scenes were 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥as usual.

This journey was epic; READ IT! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! 😘

He was her beast and her beauty

Hunter "Tyrant" Wolf came out of prison a rough around the edges man, the way he always had been. He'd been in and out of prison since a teenager. But this last time, the night before he got out of prison, he had a heart to heart with his elderly cell mate Leon, who encouraged him to straighten out his life. He left prison to find his best friend Noah dying and promising to take care of his daughter Olive, who was living with her best friend and mother. What he did not expect was to find the love of his life and soul mate in Anita Percy who reminded him of Janet Jackson. There was just one problem, he had to win her heart and convince her.

Nita was very leery about letting this 6'5", 280lb ex-con anywhere near her or her girls. Even though Olive was not her own child, like Latisha, she thought of them both as hers. She had Tisha young so most of her time went to her care. Her last relationship did not end well and she swore off men. The more she was around Hunter, the more he wore her down by his actions. She loved how well he got along with her girls. She came to realize he showed his love through his actions. Most people thought he was a cold heartless and emotional bastard. He finally got her to go out on one date with him and it was on after that. She understood his personality and accepted his tortured soul the way he was and encouraged him to open up and talk about his pain.

I enjoyed reading this book. It opened my eyes to the life of the habitually incarcerated and their culture. My heart just went out to Tyrant. He could not help the way he turned out, suffering from PTSD from his early childhood. The only way he could heal his pain was through boxing and he was good at it. The way that Tiana wrote their tryst was absolutely erotic, and I loved the girl's relationship with Nita and their humorous banter. Everyone thought Hunter was cold and hard, but his speech at the wedding just showed another side of him. When he loves, he loves hard and completely. If anyone deserved a second chance at life, he did and he got his HEA with Nita, his J.J.

I read this book three times. Hunter and Nita make an awesome couple; Hunter reminds my of someone Saint will have in his corner. Nita, sees the true Hunter and her daughter, Tisha, is a trip cause if anyone is going to keep it 100 it is her daughter. Let’s not forget Olive, Tisha best friend, that led Hunter to Nita. Hunter has his demons but he doesn’t let that stop him from loving Nita nor does Nita holds his past against him($19.99 research). This book is about family, love, support, and knowing how to take care of business. This is a MUST read.

Finding real love is a great motivator for change. The system failed hunter, but the love and acceptance of Nita and Olive healed his battered soul and he found a home for his heart.

Wonderful

Read this book. It's amazing. I want a sequel.

This is not your typical romance. Hunter is deeply flawed but charming. What I most admire was that good friend and he love his family. He is a true alpha. I like that he honor his dead friends wish. That he step up was was there for Olive. That he protected and took care of Justin. Furthermore that he was the man that Nita deserved. There romance was toughing. They were real relatable people. Hunter struggle to stay out of jail. He dealt with people's perception of him. Yet a his core he had a strong inner strength.

Nita is special. Despite being a struggling single mom she took in her daughter's best friend. Furthermore she was there for Hunter, when others would have them there backs. Nita has a pure heart.

Excellent

Given the right circumstances and a chance, anyone can make it. Our choices in life often determines the outcome. Love transcends even the hardest heart. Knowing who you are helps you be your best self. I really enjoyed this book, ups and downs and all.

Grown Folks Love Story

Tyrant is a sexy beast and he met his match with his real life "JJ"! I love the way Hunter grew with each character he interacted with. He was definitely a straight no chaser type of dude so he did not need a wallflower in his life. Nita was no pushover, that's for sure.

I'm sure I'll update this review once I get my thoughts in order but just know that you'll appreciate this mature love story. It has real life every day situations that often occur in these trying times. You feel passion. You feel love. You feel pain. You feel heartache. You live this with the characters because the author sucks you into their realm through her words.... .that's an amazing feat.

Wow... Ms Laveen has got the recipe right once again. I absolutely loved this book. It reminded me a lot of another one of her books, Gumbo. I laughed, I cried and thought deeply. There was so much pain and grief in this book ( everyday life struggles for some) but also a lot of love and deep appreciation for the small victories. Everything you want in a book. It was thought provoking at times even if you didn’t always agree with the hero’s actions. Hunter was clearly a complicated man, a beauty and a beast. As he said, he kept his circle small but he loved them fiercely. I loved how he apologized and showed his gratitude to his grandparents who never gave up on him. He embraced his brother despite the circumstances and was the best friend anyone can ask for to Noah. The build up was great. No insta story but a real relationship, being built overtime with its ups and downs until they became a family, the 4 of them, full of love and understanding. If there’s one thing, I could have wished for is more of Nita’s point of view. She was part of the story, obviously, but I felt the author focused more on Hunter’s journey. For instance, there were no interactions between Nita and her friends and family. We know Tisha was born when she was young but we didn’t get to read much about her struggles. Anyway this is definitely a 5 stars for me. I’ll be reading it again.

Well, Well, Well Ms. Laveen has done it again and never disappoints. TYRANT is a f****** BEAST!!!. This book had me feeling some type of way. HUNTER is such a Raw, vicious, sweet, beautiful character. HUNTER "TYRANT" WOLFE has become one of my favorites characters of Ms. Laveen's books. (I will always love Dean North). I loved the chemistry of HUNTER & NITA. He walked out of prison and into the heart of a strong beautiful black woman. This book showed that everyone deserves a second chance in life and love. Intially NITA was a little skeptical and unsure about letting a man of Tyrant's caliber be in her life, but once she bit the bullet and said F*** it she never looked back with regret or sorrow.

I truly enjoyed this book. I love love love Ms. Laveen's main characters. Her couples are always real and true to themselves and each other. I love the maturity of her characters and the depth of their love and relationships. This is the 9th book of hers that I have read and I have loved each and everyone of her books. I know I am praising the author more so than reviewing the book but this is a book you must read because if I discuss more I will give spoilers (which I hate). Its a Must read.

Definitely a gem! 💖💕

Hot 🔥 and yet, this is more about love and support for each other. 🌺🌿

I didn't expect to not stop with this book. Hunter is a person with a lot of issues from his past. Anita is the type of person that carries the world on her shoulders with a smile; even if it's killing her inside. Tyrant is a person suffering from PTSD since childhood, never addressed. It happens. And a lifetime later, it's hard to move on. One simply has to try to do better. And that's what Hunter does. Before leaving incarceration, and old cell mate gives him the best advice. That's what this journey has been about. With Nita along the way, helping him open up and dealing with the pain of the past and present.

The communication or lack of; the understanding of one another without words, it's what made me love this characters so much. As for.. well, their "intimacy moments", the author sure made it feel erotic. And romantic. 😊 That was intense! 💖💕

I've had this book for years now. Regret not reading sooner. Definitely going on my favorite folder for books to read more than once! 💎

Wonderful

This book had some serious and intense situations. However, what drew me in was this amazingly raw and intense ALPHA male who was filled with rage and pain from a life of heartache. That was until tragedy brought him, Hunter to Nita, his soulmate’s door. Through Nita, Hunter found a lover, a friend, and HOPE for the first time in his life. In Hunter, Nita found her ROCK someone she could rely on.

I loved Nita and her bond with her daughter and her daughter’s best friend. I loved how Hunter bonded with both girls and became a part of their family unit.

The bond of friendship between Hunter and Noah was beautiful. Also, the bond between Hunter and his brother Justin. Hunter didn’t have many that he loved and trusted in his life. But, the few that he had were people he knew were loyal to him.

There were so many emotional and heartfelt moments in this book. I enjoyed Hunter “Tyrant’s” journey and his love and growing relationship with Nita. They were a wonderful couple. This book was amazing. I highly recommend!

Love don’t cost a thing

To find someone who accepts you in spite of your past is one gift that should be cherished.

Although Nita almost missed her blessing, she was lucky enough to realize that she should follow her heart and give Hunter a chance.

Tiana Laveen books are so different because, the characters are sometimes messed up in the head but once they find the one that connects with their souls. That’s it for them. No childish behavior that’ll cause them to break up for a minute and then get back together. Her characters are adults who act like adults. Same can be said for Nita and Hunter.

Although the circumstances weren’t ideal when Nita and Hunter met, I’m happy about the outcome thereafter.
They were a funny couple, lol adding in Tisha and Olive.
Hunter has his demons and Nita helped him slayed them.

This book is a must read! You’d definitely not be disappointed

Wolfe Brigade

Hunter Tyrant Wolfe is larger than life with a even larger ego....hell bent on destroying himself and everyone who dares harm him or his love ones...he was in prison again...getting ready to come out..again...with no future plans as to what to do next....he was doomed from the beginning...his father was a alcoholic monster who beats his mother constantly and then finally killed her...right in front of his 7 years old eyes...and tried to kill himself....in front of Hunter...this child stood no chance..in and out of prison...numerous missed diagnosis...but little did he know there was peace and solace ahead....first in the form of his best friend Noah and the woman who would be the love of his life....Nita..or Janet Jackson....Miss Jackson if you're nasty.....and did it get nasty....sexy...cool.....erotic.....

Run With The Wolf!!

I have sitting here thinking exactly what I could say about this story being so so good. The writer gets it right coming out the gate. The slow wind up pitch is what sets the tone throughout the story. We get to people who have been surviving on their own and a set of circumstances bring them together. The writer gives a no nonsense hero in Hunter. There is no sugarcoat,it's what you get! You fall in love with this character and his way of handling and dealing with life. This is new book boyfriend! I just love when he lets you know he is the alpha of the pack. This was well thought out and a lot goes in the telling of this story and it gives us some hard ugly truths. If you are looking to be jolted and entertained than this is for you. If you looking for a mama's boy then this is not for you.

Tiana Laveen never disappoints. She did her thing on this. As I was reading this story, the main character Hunter (Tyrant) just really spoke to my soul. Even before I found out the character's zodiac sign, I knew he was a Scorpio. That is supposed to be my best match, although I have never met or dated one. I'm a Cancer and I suspect Nita is one as well. I can see why, Hunter would definitely be the type I would go for. Its probably for the best though. All that aside, I loved the story. I could not put the the book down. I was in a reading slump, but this story revived me. This was definitely a different type of romance. I love stories of 2nd chances and redemption and this story had it all. Both Hunter and Anita spoke to my soul. I can see this being a series or a movie. Thanks Tiana for reviving me. Don't let Saint know he is number 2 lol.

WOW

I had passed over this book several times, finally decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. Hunter just out of prison is tasked with taking care of somethings for his friend Noah who is dying. In locating Noah's daughter Olive he meet Nita the lady that is taking care of her. Hunter is in love at first sight, but he has somethings to work on. His emotions are all over the place, the ones he show. In some situations he has no emotions. It's a journey of a man released from prison to finding happiness, love, acceptance, and a job. 😉😉 it is so hard when people are released from prison to find work, when they don't they end up back in prison. This time Hunter got it right. Kudos to the author.

Beautiful Beast.

What a wonderful and skillfully written book! This story weaved heart, soul, grit, hurt, and love all together to create a masterpiece of second chances and acceptance. Hunter, aka Tyrant, grew up in an abusive household, and that tragic upbringing set him on a course of destruction that led him in and out of prison. On his last release, circumstances led him to Nita's home, and their imperfect and real love story began taking shape. Nita soothed the savagery within Hunter, while he gifted her with love, in words and deeds, that she could rely on. And of course the chemistry was off the chain. Beautiful read. Bravo!

Holy Cow

What did I just read 😱😱😱 THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!! I felt like I was in a movie. This is why I love TIANA LAVEEN! Her writing style is one of a bloody kind, she doesn’t just tell a story she makes it come alive. I legitimately felt like I was Hunter and Anita during the book, the words, the music it all contributed to that. This book was the definition of second chances and being yourself goes a long way. The music mentions and word styles all played a part. If your new to Tianas writing style give it a chance, she writes a certain way for a reason. Bloody amazing book ❤️

Wow!

I started this book not sure if I was going to like it but willing to give it a try because the cover looks lit! And boy am I glad I did! This book kept me riveted all the way through til the end. We got a single mom taking good care of her child and stepping up to take care of her daughters best whose parents are missing in action. Then we have Tyrant, an serial criminal ex con who gets one last chance to change his life or end dead or imprisoned for life. He gets out of jail and doing a favor for his best friend ends up giving him an real opportunity to change his life. Will he take the chance? Or fall back into old habits?

Fantalicious!!

I very seldom read a book twice, because I have too many books to read. However, each time I am done with Tiana Laveen's books I want to go back, read over some scenes... The characters are funny, wholesome and not to mention badassess...Anyway,Hunter aka Tyrant was a troublesome guy in and out of prison since he was a teenager that is until he met Nita ...she will become his "center".
Here is Hunter's own :

“I’m so lucky to be able to spend the rest of my life with you, baby,” he whispered in her ear. You aren’t just my best friend and lover. You’re half of my soul…”

Wow! This was a recommendation from goodreads. I love this book! So unexpected. It was told mostly from the hero's pov. You do read from the heroine pov but I had yet to read a book from the guys perspective. He was really going through it. Thankfully he was growing and maturing which aided his fall in love. He still had some alpha male foolishness that had no consequences outside the relationship. He bout it, bout it!😂 but I just loved the romance. The characters had a lot of chemistry but it felt real, not just some erotic book of language people don't use. I love how normal the couple is. Tisha cracked me up! Definitely will read others from this author.

Great read

I enjoyed reading this novel more than I thought I would. Especially when I read chapter one lock up, I almost put it down. I pressed on through and I am glad that I did. I too feel in love with Hunter “Tyrant” Wolfe. He definitely had his far share of struggles, but he was real, cold yet loving, strong willed, good hearted, honest, smart and determined. One thing that rang pound and clear with if that you would never to guess where you stood with him. He loves and he loves hard, but cross him or anyone that he loves well let’s just say I may or may not feel sorry for you once he through. Again brilliant read from Mrs. Tiana Laveen

Tyrant!

Another great one, this author never fails to write a hard to put down book! Every page keeps you guessing on and hoping that no Hunter did not just say or did that! But he had the perfect partner who was his equal! The name fit the story! But the tyrant proved he was hot and ready for every scene in the book! He did not let his past stop him and he had a woman who was right there beside him believing he was worth every minute they were together! I Loved it, 5 plus! The author always proves she is on top of her game! The Best! I buy her books no matter the title or story description!

I just finished Tyrant and I really enjoyed this book. Wolfe is certainly an alpha male to his core. One of the main things I liked about Tyrant was if you happen to be one of the few people he cared about you were lucky. Nita was a great mother and nurturer; she did not play about her kids. I always enjoy a good comeback story so to speak, the conversation that Leon had with Tyrant was everything I wish they had more interaction.

I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read.

I Hate when her books end

This was such an amazing read, Tiana is so gifted I hope due to the quaranteen she put books out every month, she could release a book called poop and I'd be the first purchase. Any ways the books the character development the tragedy, the love, redemption amd of course sex scene were phenomenal this book is a 10/10 definitely recommended, i just hate when the books end, I also wish Hunter would have went to see leon one last time to show him.his new life, but besides that amazing book

This story is truly one of the best that I have ever read. It really gives you insight into the actual prison system well past when a sentence is handed down. I applaud the humanity given to Tyrant and the depth of his character. Nita was a great partner for him because she was not a woman with stars in her eyes but a real woman with everyday problems. I recommend this book to anyone who loves reading REAL romances.

It is not your stereotypical shining knight on a white horse but the Tyrant gets the job done. Loved it!

Tyrant the wolf

This book was great from beginning to end. If you have ever read a tiana laveen book then you know her style of writing and will not be disappointed. I fell into with Tyrant and Nita at hello. This relationship between Tyrant, Trisha and Olive was so cute and genuine. Nita’s support and backing of Tyrant was that of a true ride or die. Her chanting Noah’s name brought a tear to my eye. There were just so many memorable moments that made this story that I could go on and on but I don’t want to give anything away. This is a must buy.

Outstanding!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Every book that I've read by Tiana Laveen has blown my mind!! Tyrant/ Hunter was a totally different breed and JJ/ Nita was the same. They gave each other everything and didn't try to change each other. Whatever was bought to the table was excepted. This story reminds me of beauty and the beast. Tyrant was gritty, violent, sexy, loving and totally beautiful. I cried, laugh, cursed and fell in love with these wonderful characters. Ty for sharing.🙋🏾‍♀️❤❤❤
