Parallel Opposites: a coffee and cigarette story

Rate this book
After the attacks in New York and further signs of global warming, two young twenty-somethings seek refuge alone as they face their own rising disorder. A nearer memory, Laura's former lover viciously fought and undermined her. Soon, she meets this same person she knew at first meeting--through someone new. Elsewhere, Michael moves into an apartment where his illness quickly resurfaces and shadows his every move. With questions about the past, and doubts about their future, Laura and Michael complicate each passing day as alcohol and drugs dismantle them both. Although they don't know each other, Laura and Michael hold more in common than roads of Nebraska.
