Το μυαλό της Νάντια γέμισε από εκείνη τη στιγμή με αναπάντητα ερωτήματα. Τι είχε συμβεί τότε; Ήταν απλή σύμπτωση το ότι ξαναβρέθηκαν τώρα; Και γιατί όταν κοίταζε τα υπέροχα, γαλάζια μάτια του έβλεπε περιφρόνηση και μίσος;

This turned out better than I expected after reading the first 40 pages. These 2 have been separated for 11 years. The day of their wedding they were in a car accident. Each of them blames themselves for the wreck. The heroine, Nadia, had been told that her husband had died too. He on the other hand was told that she blamed him for the accident and didn't want to be married to him anymore. He takes money from her father to leave and never see her again. I had trouble forgiving him for that. The author did an okay job getting around it and making him somewhat forgivable for it. Plus he does eventually near the end of the book regret it and acknowledge that he had been a coward to take it. Anyhoo, the book starts after the manipulative father has died and has set up a very wonky will. The hero and heroine meet again. The part of the story that bothered me the most is that even knowing that he took money to leave her, Nadia basically lets him walk all over her. I have no gripe with them falling back in love but I felt like she should have been slamming a few more doors in his arrogant face. It picked up a bit later on and I felt like the relationship was more balanced. There was a fairly good grovel scene at the end and over all I enjoyed the book.

I do love a hero / heroine returning from the dead book. In this case, the heroine was told by her father that the hero had died, the hero was paid off and told by her father that she didn't want to be saddled with a cripple (hero was in a wheelchair for 18 months after their accident). Roll forward 11 years and H's dead husband lives in the apartment across the hall from her. Hero wants revenge on the H's father (now deceased) for what he did to him.

This was a re-read for me, enjoyed it just as much the second time around - and hated the hero for 90% of the book! He grovelled well at the end and gained an extra half a star.

the hero himself was actually the villain !! he was worse than nadia's father. everett kincaid did what he thought was in his child's interest while lucas set out to destroy them but everett was already dead and he knew the truth now..that nadia had been lied and thought he was dead. so why continue with the revenge !? and also he had already wronged her by taking money from her father but that was forgivable because he was under difficult circumstances. but planning revenge all through the book when his tormentor was dead and knowing all that nadia had suffered, he still plotted and slept with her trying to get information from her to destroy her and her family better.. i hated him intensely.how could she love him after knowing of his betrayal !? as it was a harlequin book, so i knew they would end up together. and he did make quite a great gesture at the end but even then, he did not redeem himself in my eyes. and yes another book where title was misleading. they did not get married by deception. they got separated by deception or you could say divorced by deception !! but not married haha xd

Tbh i have mixed feelings about this, this story is wonderful for all of the drama in it! You love but you also gonna hate it lol.
I love the heroine ! She is a strong woman yeahh it just... everytime she threw that the hero dumped her for the money... girl 😔
(help me plz)
But the hero... ok this is weird, i feel bad for the hero because after the accident, it was predicted he would never walk again, plus his family was just holding it together and he would further be a burden medical fees and all to them so i kind of think he should take that money from h father. Yeah h father lied to him that heroine didn't want him and all... and the H was quick to believe it... that was bad decision on his part too. I mean if the h didn't take that money (the h father was an asshole to him like literally attack him when he was low) HE WAS ON A VERGE TO BE CRIPPLED. That money helped him and his family on the price of... But i think he should not believe easily the h would leave him...

Also i understand his vendetta but i hate it.

GOD I FEEL A BURNING HATE FOR h Father until the end lmao

A little unbelievable that considering how much h mourned for her supposedly dead husband, she didn't chk out the mortuary and memorial service or reach out to h's mother and sisters. Considering how much H's family had been relying on his income and how rich h was, she didn't try and reach out to them to see how she could help or even console each other??
Then years later, considering the h is a financially savvy CPA she doesn't even have rainy day funds in her personal account. This from someone who manages the accounts of an organization that is worth billions?
The book had a lot of pathos and angst but had so many plot holes and weird convenient plot devices that are absurd and weird. I like my fiction engrossing but the story line was so unbelievable that it was a jarring read.

I wanted to like it but was only ok. My biggest issue is that heroine is unable to have anymore kids. I liked that they reunited and they pretty much laid it all out about how her father ruined their lives 11 years before and it wasn't the whole book of miscommunication. With what Heroines father did I can't really fault either of them for sleeping with others during separation (but still don't like it). I especially don't like how many guys heroine slept with (apparently it was a lot and I assume one night stands as well since after sleeping with hero she wandered briefly who she slept with and if it was a Lukas look alike again). Np.

Couldn’t get into this book. She finds out her ‘dead’ husband has been alive the whole 11 years she’s mourned him, and it’s barely a thing.

By focusing completely on the developing relationship between Nadia and Lucas, Rose managed to create a full story in a very short book. Overall, I'm impressed by the writing quality.

However, I detested Lucas. Through most of the book he behaves like a controlling bully. (And that's ignoring the seriously coercive aspects.) Not to mention Basically, he's a really rotten guy for almost the entire book. And while Lucas' realization about the depravity of his behavior is surpassingly convincing, I needed more time to see Lucas a worthy man for Nadia.

So, Wed by deception is a quick read with a focused plot and a vivid hero and heroine. I intensely disliked the hero, but Rose provided a rather convincing change of heart. The ending was a bit too pat, but at least Rose didn't wimp out on .

Nadia was under the impression the man she loved more than anything was dead. Until, bam, Lucas was suddenly at her door. Lucas is cold and has disdain dripping from his pores. Will Lucas have Nadia pay for a misdeed she had no knowledge of or even participated in.

Loved the conclusion of the Kincaid series! Nadia's and Lucas' shared pain made this a poignant, touching read.
