We have Alpha Nor, who loves and cares for his youngest sibling Omega Toby. He dotes on him and spoils him; Toby is his whole world. However, Toby is an omega who will go into heat soon. This means he will need to be matched with an Alpha and be mated off.
One day while out hunting together, Toby goes into heat and needs his brother, his Alpha Nor, who he loves. However, Nor understands that they can not go through with this, they're blood siblings, not mates, but he can't resist and can never say no to his beloved brother. When Toby becomes pregnant, they need to make some tough decisions.
This was a short, low angst, sweet, 'taboo' story. I was really excited about this one; I saw it recommended and had to read it. Omegaverse, incest, and mpreg ! It hurts how much potential this story had, but sadly, it was just an okay read for me.
I had major issues with the ending. It was abrupt, and the author plants the idea that they might not actually be brothers, which felt like such a weird thing to drop at the end. Why cast doubt for the readers? What was the point of that?
Overall, A Heart for Him had a lot of potential, but sadly with that bizarre and abrupt ending, it left a bad taste. Hopefully, there will be a sequel of some sort, but if they end up not being related, that will be so disappointing.

Toby is an (insert age here) year old omega and his older brother, Nor is an (insert age here) year old alpha. When Toby’s heat comes out of nowhere in the middle of the first what’s a big brother do to? Knot the fuck out of him and makes him orgasm 3 times, of course. But poor Nor is feeling some conflicted emotions: what he did was wrong (meh), he’s been in love with Toby forever(eh), and the fucking mother hen is trying to mate him off (ruh-ro). So he doesn’t touch Toby (except for one little hand job) for a month, until Toby’s next Heat. Being the best big brother out there he fucks and knots Toby again. They were also staying with a doula for a while because the ass crack of a mother made Toby get checked when he wasn’t having his heats(oh but Toby no one will mate you I yo don’t have heats 🙄🙄). So the doula finds out Toby is pregnant. Nor avoids him at all costs. The mom is still pestering. Toby is trying to go college. It’s a mess, but the grandma (the only good adult over 40 in this book) tells Nor to get his head out of his ass. Which he does and mates Toby (no not fucks him, bites the shit out of his neck) of course the fucking mom catches them and instantly freaks out. She talks about aborting the baby and sending Toby away, ugh couldn’t stand her!! Anyways Toby and Nor leave, as they should, and go back to doula lady. The grandma comes too. What happens next you might ask? I have no clue, it ended like that :( I would’ve loved to see them arrive and start their family, and See Toby go to college but oh well. It easy super steamy and sweet. But I’m SO over reading about the catty mother hen and the doormat dad!! I don’t want to see it anymore!!

TM Chris’ writing just really works for me, and I think she cleverly conveyed Nor’s simple outlook on things. I am a sucker for the gentle giant protector and the innocent but crafty charge.
I do kind of think that was a bit of a cop-out and I'm glad
Other reviewers seem disappointed with the ending but I thought that was the perfect place to leave it. Not that I'd be opposed to reading more about these two...

I enjoy TM Chris' erotica novellas. This one had much more of a Tanya Chris feeling to it.
Alpha/omega bro-cest wolf-shifters. This was sweet with some family drama about the taboo relationship.
The oldest and youngest siblings of the family are in love. The older Alpha was a sweetheart, if a little dense. Don't expect anything dark or angst-filled.
CWs: mpreg, consensual incest between brothers, unmated pregnancy, discussions of aborting, family hostility towards the final decision of the MCs.
But all ends well and sweetly. I want more shifter incest, please!
Some highlights:

Not my first time reading incest, but I believe my first time reading incest with pregnancy. Which I can’t say I’m crazy about. I don’t know if I find it worse that Toby is fully aware of the risks of incest and pregnancy and chooses to go ahead with it, or Nor not knowing or understanding that there is a risk.
And then the ending where the grandmother reveals that Toby doesn’t smell like family and that she always suspected that their mother lost her pup in her last pregnancy and Toby was just adopted to cover it. And we just leave it at that, as a “maybe you’re not brother after all”.
Like, do incest or don’t. Pseudo incest is a load of crock.
Also, my brain didn’t like processing “Nor” as a name, so I found myself re-reading a lot.

i read other reviews about the abrupt ending, so i was emotionally prepared for that and it didn’t really bother me…..nor and toby were so sweet on each other, and from the very beginning, it was obvious that nor was never not in love with toby😂 i loved the way he took care of toby….and the grandma is so cute with her little knowing looks like y’all think ur slick huh😏 but why would the author try to throw in last minute that maybe they aren’t related but who knows and we’ll never find out……..like literally why it’s a taboo romance for a reason😂

Sweet and short but long enough to actually get to know the MCs, which is kind of impressive considering how much is just smut. Would love for this to be a prologue cuz wtf grandma??? and it'd be great to see them run an organization for wolves who lost their community due to non-traditional life choices after Toby graduated. Or whatever they get up to. Does suffer from the all too common heightened-senses-only-when-convenient problem.

Nor is a great Alpha and just wants to take care of Toby and give him anything he wants. Toby comes across as a little spoiled, maybe? (Thanks, Nor) But he does care for Nor and has big goals for the future that most Omega’s don’t get to do.

This was slightly disappointing. It’s ends so abruptly. The way Nor describes having sex with his brother is almost lyrical and not the smut I was looking for. And, to top it all off, we almost get an out at the end that they might night be brothers. Nor decides he doesn’t care to know one way or the other, but I didn’t like that the doubt was planted.
