The final chapter in Phase I of the incredible, best-selling MELT saga.
A new, intensely thrilling series, MELT has received unanimous praise from beta readers and early reviewers alike. Written by JJ Pike and Mike Kraus, MELT examines a part of our world that we often take for granted. Add in a dash of real science and a glimpse of what the future might hold in store and you're presented with the recipe for MELT: a frighteningly real post-apocalyptic thriller.
MELT is a novel-length series that will be released on a monthly basis. Phase I of MELT consists of 8 books, and a planned second phase will consist of approximately 4-6 books, to start publishing in early 2020.
This story still bogs down with so much internal conversion each character has pretty much all of the time. We have added Old Alice and New Alice to the cloud conversation list. This also has the side story of the survivalist group that has built a complex that the government would struggle to have and yet it is all managed by one guy that kind of folds in the end. At least there is some progress in the battle with MELT, the actual threat. I was glad to see Barb surface again as she is now not the craziest character.
Hold, book 8, is dramatic and harrowing! I’ve been invested in the MC’s for quite a while but this episode kept me on the edge of my seat turning pages as quickly as I could read them. I highly recommend the entire series! Now, I’m off to get book 9, enjoy!
So good that I groan at the next that the next book won't be here until October! But so glad that this world continues. So masterfully written. You think you've seen the last of a character from 4 books ago, nope! The Characters are so vivid I feel like I know them. Total immersion in this series! One of those that you will stay up until 3 in the morning reading and be glad you did!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Hold in the Melt series. It all started coming together and tying up loose ends. I had thought Fran was not as innocent and she didn’t disappoint but was surprised by her last encounter with Bill. Glad Barb made a reappearance (I love her character). It’s a little out there but not by much. Really good entertainment read.
I have been reading this series from the beginning and enjoying it. But, I have say it is like being a mind reader inside a mental health hospital. Reading the thoughts of some really crazy people.
I am disappointed that the next book will be published almost a full year from now. I hope I will be able remember what happened in the previous ones.
This 8th episode of MELT continues to challenge the growing ensemble of characters. Not one to disappoint in the least. It seems like the challenges just keep piling one on top of the other. My only disappointment was learning that the next book in the series is not so out till October! Boohoo!
But they have to write faster! Most engaging and frightening series I have read. The Everlee family is astounding in their commitment to each other. Such a fascinating and frightening concept. Highly recommended.
Book 8 did not disappoint me at all in fact I reread the last few chapters because I wanted to make sure I hadn't missed something and enjoyed how the writer summed it up for this part of Melt. Now waiting for book 9 to be completed.
I started the book and had a difficult time stopping to do housework! I am retired. It was always my goal to read books since I have time. Fun. Adventuresome. Great storyline. Looking forward to reading several more books from this author.
Great story. Mike and JJ have woven an incredible story of the Everlees and their friends and foes. Can’t wait to read the next installment! I highly recommend this series!
