Finding Mr. Right #1

Alternate cover/title for this ASIN can be found here

Yesterday, I gave my two weeks’ notice. Today, I’m engaged to the CEO. How the hell did that happen?

Ethan Grant is the textbook definition of tall, dark, and handsome. He's smart and talented too, but there is one downside. He's obviously insane. There's no other explanation for what happened today. His grandfather, the president of Grant Industries, mistakenly thought we were engaged, and Ethan went along with it. Even crazier, he somehow convinced me to play along, too.

Now, I have to pretend to be his fiancée long enough for him to gain control of the family corporation. Then we stage a breakup, call off the wedding, and I walk away with my dream of traveling the world fully paid for.

I have to admit, this fake engagement comes with definite perks. Ethan was born to wear custom-made Italian suits. He can make me laugh one moment and make my panties melt the next. Before long, I feel like I’ve known him my whole life.

But to him, this is just a business transaction. Only a fool would fall in love with a fake fiancé, right? Luckily, I’m no fool.

Or at least I wasn’t before I met Ethan...

Note: This novel was previously titled Shameless Boss.

***Mr. Right Stuff is a romance novel with steamy scenes, no cheating, and a very happy ending.***

A more than meets the eye- fake fiancé office romance!
This sweet heat, humor-laden brimming with chemistry tale is full of twists and turns, and agonizing decisions.
Ethan finally has the missing puzzle piece to take his rightful place as president of his Grandparents company Kate, one foot out the door, ready to move on from her job there. Holds off on her plans to take the journey of a lifetime with her roommates for a while longer with Ethan's offer to quadruple their funds! All she has to do- pretend to be his fiancé for a few weeks, then they break up before the wedding. Should be simple right?
Awh, these two! I wanted to hug them, and shake them!
What an enjoyable, fast-paced, with light angst and a sweet romance that turned out to be!

Pardon me while I gush shamelessly about" Shameless Boss"; it was a delightfully light hearted read with some sweet romantic moments and some fun humorous moments, that had the pages flying by with ease and left a smile n my face .

Ethan Grant is our sexy theory one year old. CEO of Grant industries, raised by his loving grandparents and his grandfather who refuses to turn over full control of Grant industries to him until he marries. His grandparent of late have been pushing pretty hard ; and it's not like Etann has not tried, he has ; he even had his assistant make a list of socialites that he tried dating but they just we're all duds . So out of desperation he made up a fake girlfreind to try and get his grandparents to give him some space , but know it is the never ending cycle of when will we meet her like, what's her name , please tell us something about her . Ethan finally caves and describes a women who he is enamored with , so much so that he makes sure he is in the lobby of his building when he knows she will be on coffee break, but that is as close as he will get; he refuses to be that type of boss , the one that goes after and employee. What Ethan never expected was for that women to be sent with paperwork to his grandparents house for his grandfather to sign on e very same day.
Days later he finds himself being visited at the office by his grandparents for lunch with them; and apparently it looks as if it will be a long lunch since they have secured the company chef to make them a private one; but to further add to his surprise the very women he desires, the one he is secretly stalking is sitting at that very table and his grandparents are going on about turning over the business to him know that they know he has found his fiancé .
Considering that Ethan does not even know the poor girls name, he is trying to put together how that came to the assumption.
Katelyn Barnes , is also flabbergasted ; especially since she just put in her two week notice a few days ago so she can travel Europe with her fepreinds on a dream trip they hang been saving for years to go on.
The fact that Ethan is not telling his grandparents otherwise enrages Katelyn and sends her running from lunch, but she finds herself stopping and feeling bad for running out, especially after how nicely his grandparents treated her when she went to their home.Katelyn's delay allows Ethan to catch up with her and Ethan then proceeds rouse his power of persuasion and the promise of quadrupling e money her and her friends have saved for their trip if she will stay and play his fake fiancé with a break up before she is scheduled to leave for her European tour.
Katelyn's agreement leads to these two spending more time together getting to know one another , planning an engagement party and then a wedding that neither will ever attend.
Most of all it leads these two to falling in love with each other but not telling the other because who falls in love in two months .
The break up is inevitable. Katelyn will be leaving for her Europen tour, and who is Ethan to keep her from her dream when she has helped hm keep no get his dream of being not only the CEO but the President of grant industries.
But can Ethan really let her walk away?

*I read this as Mr Right Stuff with Sophia Brooks as the only author. Very weird to have two different titles and a co-written initial book.*

That said...Mr Right Stuff/Shameless Boss was such a fun read. It's light, easy, made me laugh a few times, too.

The Gist: Ethan's grandparents want him settled. A nice wife. Kids. Come on! Give them great grand babies! And he's...like okay! I have a girlfriend! We've even talked about marriage! Thinking that maybe they'd give him a break for a while. But then they want ALL the details and he's all shit! this chick doesn't exist. So he subs in a description of a hottie at work. Whew. Until a little while later his grandparents invite him to lunch and he walks in and they're all congrats on your engagement! And he's all...the fuck? And the chick is all...the fuck? Because they are literally just meeting. Um. lol To get what they both want, though, they might just go along with his grandparent's crazy notion.

I enjoyed Ethan and Kate. They're both nice people and passionate. She's planning a 3 month European vacation with her best friends. He's got plans to become President of his granddad's company. They're both very focused. Kind, smart, determined. They were a good match.

And the romance. Well they both had a thing for each other but an arrangement, too, to get them both what they want (a year long world tour and that presidency). Now and again I wanted to shake them both to just use all your words! but I enjoyed them getting to know each other, having little flails and finally figuring it out. It stayed fairly PG until towards the end.

All in all, Mr Right Stuff was just nice happy fluffy romance fun. It hit the spot and left me smiling. Just what I needed.

Unlike any other books where the boss needs a fake fiancee to get his family off his back, this one was utterly delectable and damn sweet.

Ethan Grant, a successful CEO of his grandfather's company always dreamt of becoming the president of the company. But his grandfather, an old school believed that true success is achieved only when you have a wife and a family. He dangled the opportunity to make Ethan the president only if he married.

At exactly 10.30 am everyday, Ethan does a bit of stalking in the lobby. He doesn't know her name nor the department she works but he knew that everyday she came to get the Chai latte. One day, when he was doing his everyday stalking, his grandparents were talking to him at the same time and asking him about his dating life and by mistake he described Kate. As soon as her grandmother saw Kate she knew, and decided to play matchmaker. To realize his dream of becoming the president of the company he asked Kate to pretend to be his fiancee and then afterwards stage a breakup while he'd pay for Kate and her two best friends' worldwide tour, to which Kate agreed.

What they didn't plan was to have feelings for each other. I really liked Shameless Boss. It was really unique, light and sweet. There were no unnecessary drama and absolutely no angst. The characters were loveable, even Walter and Bridget. And damn, love that epilogue and Bridget's matchmaker style.

Ethan is the CEO of Grant Industries. His Grandfather is the president and won’t step down until Ethan finds a wife. “To my grandparents, I wouldn’t be a true success until I fell in love and got married.
And until that time occurred, my grandfather would remain president of the company.” (Direct quote)

Ethan has been obsessed with looking at a woman from afar. He doesn’t know anything about her, but knows that she goes down to the lobby at 10:30 every morning to get a chai tea latte. While staring at her, Ethan gets distracted talking to his grandparents when they ask about the girl he’s seeing, that he made up, and describes “her” to them. Events happen and the grandparents meet “her” before Ethan does and assumes this is the one their grandson is dating.

Kate just turned in her two weeks notice getting ready to travel to Europe for three months with her two best friends, Julie and Dan. They have been planning this trip for five years and have finally saved enough money between the three of them to do it. That plan is put on hold when Ethan asks Kate to be his fake fiancée.

This is a cute, sweet and sexy romance. If you’re looking for hardcore Alpha, you will want to look elsewhere. This is definitely on the sweeter side of things! It makes you want to say, “Ahhhhh” and tear up a little bit.

The characters, even the ones that aren’t the main ones, are likable and its easy to relate to them. There is a HEA with no cliffhanger.

Shameless Boss, previously known by the title "Mr. Right Stuff", both of which were Book 1 of the Finding Mr. Right series, was about Ethan Grant, the CEO of Grant Industries, and Katelyn "Kate" Marie Barnes, an accounting employee of Grant Industries.
Side Note: One thing I absolutely hate about books (and I don't hate much about them, so this is a big deal) is when the author chooses to NOT number the chapters and make the reader figure out a way to determine how far they've gotten in the reading of one such book. Well, this author is one of them who didn't do any numbering. UGH.
Although Ethan was the CEO of the family company, his grandfather was still the president, and would not relinquish that position to his grandson until he was either engaged or married. Ethan found that to be a bit archaic, and refused to fall in line with his grandparents' wishes for him to marry. However, there was a particular woman at work that he found intriguing enough to "stalk". Every morning the woman would arrive at a coffee kiosk in the lobby of Ethan's building, and he made certain he was there to see her. The only problem with that was he never approached her, he didn't know her name or anything at all about her, and she was unaware of his interest. One morning while he was "stalking" her, he was on a call with his grandfather. Both grandparents began grilling him about his love life and the fictitious fiancee that he made up (but they didn't know that). He then gave a brief description of his non-existent fiancee before the call ended.
Later the same day Kate, who was the woman at the kiosk, was sent to Ethan's grandparents' home with a contract that Mr. Grant had forgotten to initial in several places. Unknown to either Kate or Ethan, she was mistaken for his fiancee by his grandparents because Ethan had unwittingly described HER earlier when his grandparents had asked what she looked like. A few days later, Ethan arrived at a restaurant where he thought he was meeting his grandfather for lunch, only to be surprised by the presence of his grandmother...and Kate. During the luncheon, Mr. Grant told Ethan that he would be handing over the reins to the company now that he had finally found his soulmate. It was the first time Kate had been made aware of the fake engagement...as well as the first time she'd met Ethan face-to-face. Things started to go south and Kate rushed from the room. Ethan followed her, then convinced her to go through with a fake engagement so he could allow his grandfather to finally retire. Things were pretty rushed after that, with his grandparents hosting an engagement party for them and then they were lost in the planning for the wedding that was supposedly soon to follow.
There were a lot of things wrong with this story. It lacked many of the emotions that a reader of romance novels would normally expect. The angst was very low, the drama was dull even though there was a good deal of it. The chemistry was bland, and the two spicy scenes...weren't spicy at all. The chemistry between the two main characters was virtually non-existent, especially as they were rarely together. Most of their "togetherness" was off-page, and when they WERE together, it was boring, and they were usually with other people. Oh, they had some angry moments, but even that was low-key compared to most novels.
The book had loads of grammatical errors and the plot and storyline were both confusing. The aim was for Ethan to gain control of the business and for Kate to travel the world with her two BFFs after the engagement/wedding fell through. There was virtually no communication between the main characters. They only ever talked about the fake engagement and how they were going to break up in the end, but they rarely talked about anything else...on paper. Everything important was either said to themselves in their heads, or the talks took place between them off-page. Even the ending was off. It was abrupt and made very little sense. It just fell flat. This book definitely did not earn more than a two-star rating.

Another great book by Sophie Brooks! Don't think for a moment that you have read another story similar to this one. NOPE. It's fresh and fun. A page turner!

He have been watching her for some time now, always at 10:30am she goes to buy her chai. He always look but haven't made any moves on her, she is an employee and that's something he respects. Jake is the CEO  of the company founded by his grandfather. But when his granmother and grandfather ask about the woman he is dating he describe his beautiful brunette. He knows is not good to lie to your grandparents but when they are pressuring you to marry to give you the presidency of the company, you have to do somenthing about it. Now as fate will have it they met her and are talking about engagement parties and weddings, the only thing he have to do now is convince her to be his fake fiancee.

Kate is going to make her dream come true. She and her best friends and roommates are going in a 3 month trip to Europe, she just have to give her boss her 2 weeks notice. Just when she is going to give the letter her boss send her to the founders home for some signatures. When she meet them she is impress not only by their house but by the way they treat her, they are so sweet! Days later they asked for her at her job and some shocking news are revel. They think she is his grandson fiancee!

A sweet office romance story with an unconventional beginning...

Kate Barnes works in accounting for Grant Industries, she’s only an entry level data clerk, about to hand in her notice when her boss sends her to deliver some documents to the company’s president. The Grant’s are taken by the young lady, especially when they realise their grandson, Ethan Grant had noticed the young woman.

Ethan Grant, CEO of Grant Industries, noticed the young woman every day and went out of his way to be in the same place as her, but as she was one of Grant Industries employees she was off limits to the CEO. Little did he realise he was about to meet the woman he’s only admired from afar thanks to his Grandparents. Having raised their grandson, the elderly Grants want him to marry, and only when he’s married will his grandfather step down as president and hand the reigns over...

What starts out as lust from a distance turns into a fake romance for the sake of getting the company Ethan loves... but how long will the fake romance last before real feelings take over?

I liked this story, well written with interesting characters, had me cheering them on as they chased their dreams wanting them to reach their HEA. Yes, I do recommend this if you’re considering it.

I liked this sweet fake fiancé turned real fiancé book. Ethan and Kate were meant to be together. Ethan a successful CEO of his grandfather's company dreamed of being president one day after his grandfather Walter retired. His plan to gain the job was a little unorthodox but with Kate on board he would get it. Kate on the other hand was living with her two best friends Julie and Dan. They saved for 5 years to go to Europe for a few months. When Ethan made his offer she said yes. So they became fake engaged. Well Bridget the grandmother wanted to start planning the wedding ASAP after the engagement party. All this was a whirlwind for Kate and she began to feel very close to Bridget. I liked the part of the story that recreated the proposal scene that had been a make up story to begin with. I also thought the romance was gentle and sweet. I am glad that neither Ethan nor Kate had to give up their dreams and they did come true not the way it was originally planned but just the same it cave true. A Must Read.

What an absolute joy to devour. I truly enjoyed everything about this release. I have always liked the writing style of Ms. Brooks and should you have the time, I encourage you to pick up this book and see for yourself just how talented Ms. Brooks is. Ethan has just about everything he needs in life except what he needs to become the President of his Grandparents company... A Wife. He's certainly obsessed about her but marry her... where did that come from? Kate has just given notice and is getting ready for a trip of a lifetime with her friends. So, why then did she agree to play the fiance to the deliciousness that is Ethan? She must be crazy... right? Nope, these two are perfection together and the sooner they realize it, the better. After all, his Grandmother saw it right away, so why can't they... or can they? Beautiful Romance.

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and I highly recommend reading ASAP (as well as anything written by Ms. Brooks).

There is Ethan who is a successful CEO of his grandfather's company. He dreams of being the president one day after Walter, his grandfather retires. Then there is Kate, who is an independent woman with dreams of her own. When Ethan gives her an offer she can't refuse, she becomes his fake fiancé. This is a fake turned real fiancé story. It has good character development and the storyline is sweet and romantic. Neither of the characters give up their dreams, they just come true a different way then originally planned. This is a definite one-click.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Not many books have the secondary characters as my favorite, but the grandparents Bridget and Walter of Ethan really pulled at my heart. They were the most sweetest, humble billionaire matriarch and patriarch in a book. I also liked Julia and Dan, Kate’s roommates too. Ethan was a dream come true book boyfriend. I loved the unique storyline, is was a refreshing touching change from the billionaire books I read. I loved how Ethan and Kate’s relationship blossomed. It was a sweet book. I highly recommend this book. You’ll fall in love with the Grant family.

Ethan Grant is CEO of Grant Industries with the dreams of being president of the company. Unfortunately, his grandfather won't make him president unless he settles down and gets married.

Kate Barnes works at Grant Industries and unknown to her, she's caught the eye of the CEO. At 10:30 every morning he makes sure he's in the lobby to watch a beautiful brunette get her Chai tea latte. After a misunderstanding with Ethan's grandparents, Kate finds herself fake engaged to the sexy man.

A fast paced, sweet fake fiance romance with a very happy ending. Meddling grandparents are the best!!

This is a fun and sweet read with great characters and an entertaining story. Ethan is obsessed with a woman that he only sees from a distance every day. Now he has made up a fiancé and his grandfather think it is someone he has met. Kate is planning the trip of a lifetime and is ready to give her two weeks’ notice until she gets an offer to be the CEO’s fake fiancé. Great characters and wonderful chemistry. I really liked it.

This is so sweet. The chemistry between these two is a slow, passionate kind that catches you off guard. The way he's been stalking her is sweet, but lying to his grandparents is a disaster waiting to happen...as they both soon find out. Their adventure is so unusual, but romantic in the same sense. I'm definitely recommending this book to everyone. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Lots of mixed up fun

I absolutely loved Kate and her roommates Julie and Dan. These devoted friends have a wonderful plan to see Europe but Kate gets in the middle of a family conflict that changes the travel plans. Ethan is wanting to completely take over the family business but Grandparents think he needs to be married first. Ethan enlists Kate as his game fiancee. It's all pretty funny till love turns it serious. Beautiful love story. Linda

The idea of the story was really good but the execution lacked some finesse in my opinion. Everything felt rushed and I would have liked more details in their getting to know each other and the secondary characters.
The second "real" proposal was a little much and the rushed wedding and it got so cheesy.
It was just not believable how everything was hearts and flowers all of a sudden and love here and there and everywhere :/

4*
Ethan has been watching Kate for a while but as she works for him it’s hands off policy. His grandparents want him settled so he tells them he’s in a relationship with Kate.
Will his plan work?
Kate has been saving for a trip of a lifetime with her roommates she’s just handed in her notice two weeks then she’s free!

A pleasant suprise.
Not your usual pretend fiancé tale. Ethan and Katelyn think they have it figured out, a win-win for both of them. His grandparents will never figure out they've been "played". But, who's "playing" who? All's fair in love and war.
I recieved this book as an ARC, this is my honest opinion.

Cute story

It was a cute story, but for me nothing really stuck out about it. I still rated it five stars because I don't think it is fair to give me rating reviews just because the story didn't suck me in like others. It's well written. Just isn't one that will be filed in my mind to re-read later

A short, cute and fun reading. I wish it was a little bit longer because the last chapters felt such a rush. I didn't like the insta love part but I get that it was a short length novella. I also didn't like the grandparents involvement at the end.
Overall, it was a book cleanser and I had fun reading it.
