This had a lot of potential to be a win for me...until it didn’t. The story fell off track for me and I had no interest in the new direction.

I don't like when really potentially triggering things are seemingly thrown in romance/erotic books for shock value only and don't really have any purpose or make any sense. So, I'm just gonna set this one down and move on to something else.

K Webster and Nikki Ash need to make this writing together thing a regular affair! Earlier this year, I read Heath, a Wuthering Heights retelling by the duo, and not only did their writing styles blend together beautifully, but the story itself was absolutely captivating! This dark mafia romance was no different! If I didn't know this was written by two different people, I would've never guessed it, and I devoured the entire book in one sitting!
image host

Talia Nikolaides is about to join her boyfriend for a summer in America when she is summoned by her father, Niles, out of the blue. Reluctantly, she agrees to travel by jet with her brother to Greece as requested. Soon after she lands, she discovers Niles has promised her hand in marriage to Kostas Demetriou, heir to an organized criminal organization to whom he owes a large some of money. The marriage will clear his debt, but if Talia refuses, he won't live to see another day.

image host

Understandably, Talia doesn't want to participate in this insanity. How can her father claim to love her if he would allow her to be sold to such a man for his own crimes? Unfortunately, the Demetriou family doesn't take no for an answer, and after watching her future husband beat a man to death, she fears for her life more than anything.

image host

Kostas may be a scary son of a bitch, but when he looks at Talia, the last thing he wants to do is harm her. Instead of purely pissing him off, her sass makes his dick hard. He loves her body and wants nothing more than to put a ring on her finger, so he can start worshipping it. That is if people stop trying to murder the newly engaged couple long enough for them to walk down the aisle.

image host

Hidden Truths is violent, gritty, and perfectly paced! It's so well written that once I started reading, I couldn't stop. There was never a dull moment from start to finish. The authors had me engaged and invested from page one, and I'm dying for the next installment as we speak.
image host

Kostas and Talia together are hot as fuck! You can feel the tension between them immediately, and when they finally get together, it's absolute perfection. Kostas is all alpha, and I loved him from the very beginning. He swept me off my feet right along with Talia! I couldn't help but feel for her when she got thrown into an arranged marriage against her will by her own father nonetheless, but by the end of the book, I mostly envied her! Kostas is ruthless when it comes to pretty much anything or anyone, but he showers Talia with love, affection, and anything her heart desires.

image host

There is a cliffhanger at the end of the book, but it's not a big one. I think I know what actually happened, so I don't feel frantic about the ending. (Of course, I could be wrong.) However, I still can't wait to get my hands on Stolen Lies! I need more of Kostas and Talia now! Not to mention, I can't wait to see certain assholes pay for their crimes against them. I was going to say I hope Kostas makes them suffer, but if I learned anything at all from this book, that's a given! The way he doles out his own brand of justice is not for the faint of heart, and I can't fucking wait to witness more of it!

If you love mafia romance and the arranged marriage trope, this one's for you!

Another book that has been recommended to me. And this time around I find two authors writing one amazing duet.

Kostas Demetriou is the oldest son of one of the most powerful mafia families in Greece.

Niles Nikolaides is his father’s worst enemy. And for some reason His father keeps letting him slip through the cracks. Which he has no clue why. But somewhere along the line in this story, we will find. Answers to those questions.

Once Upon a time, Talia’s Nicolaides father used to be successful, but greed got to him and little by little he got in over his head.

Talia moved with her mother to Italy after the divorce of her parents. And now she is a sophomore in college with the dreams of her future. Her plans were to spend this summer in Chicago with her boyfriend until her older brother came to collect her due to the fact that her father had summoned her.
She was dragged into Greece’s most ruthless family and forced into a marriage with a monster.

We will see how much Talia’s innocence is worth since her father owes $4.6 million to Demetriou’s family

We will meet few unexpected monsters. And the one you thought were your Allies, might just be the monsters in this story, and the ones you thought to be the Monster might not be as horrible as they seem.

What’s a woman to do when she falls for her enemy Who is a Psychopath, controlling mad man … why she runs in the opposite direction of course.

This is part one of the duet series written by K. Webster and Nikki Ash! I must say that these two authors pairing up to write was a brilliant decision! I am really enjoying this duet and after the cliffy I just read, I am dying to dig right into the conclusion immediately!!!

One thing I need to mention about this book is that it’s dark. There are some awful things that happen through out this story and I just feel the need to make readers aware of that! If you’re looking for a flowery romance ; you most certainly will not find it here! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!😬

This woman is so delicate. A butterfly caught in a spider’s web—her wings about to be tied down indefinitely.

Arranged marriage. Organized crime. Loads of drama between families/characters in the story. A ton of potentially triggering things happen. I’m sad I didn’t like this one more. I’m a huge mafia lover, and while the crime aspect of this one was okay I just didn’t connect with the characters very much. Will I read the next book? Most likely. It is well written and kept me turning pages until the very last one. I just can’t say that it BLEW me away. A good read though!

The only thing i didn't like was how the hero started off a cruel mob boss and ended up being a neglectful, weak husband.

This is a love story. No, scratch that. This is Stockholm sindrome at his finest.
We have Talia. Of course, she's gorgeus. Blond hair, blue eyes, perfect sized lips, tits and ass. Whole package. Unfortunately, she is so stupid. Not feisty. Just plain, old stupid. Because she decides to action when is time to be subtle, and viceversa. Oh, and she is a 21?23? Virgin, who wants to at least dry hump short after a little rape. What could happen if you go after a drunk man, from a violent family, who competes with his brother, and you decide to give him a sponge bath in a little dress that you decide to throw away because it's wet?
And who could refuse a lifetime of being raped, talked down (he talks to her like you would with a dog: sit, come here, behave) and possibly beaten? Talia doesn't, because she is brave and feisty. Not.
Also, I got really quick tired of hearing about how bad Kostas is. How mean. How cruel. How (insert all the synonyms here).
That first scene of violence got me puzzled. Why would you waste time hacking somebody's foot? And Talia is so disgusted that she decides to join him the next time. Then she wants to be f***ed, because she adjusts to his world.
To many unnecessary things. Also, Talia is to stupid for my taste.

Well this was a nice surprise, I read it so fast! It was interesting and I was intrigued! There are some twists that I didn’t see them coming! I’m excited to see what will happen next! I’m curious how this will continue! It was sexy, fast paced with slow burn!

I find it a little bit funny not for the story but since I’m from Greece and the names and places are from my country it was nice seeing them!

Don’t get me wrong I love K. Webster books but seriously she went to koastis brother house first. And then when he raped her she like oh my husband gonna be so mad so why your stupid ass go to his house in the first place. I’m not saying she deserved but come on use some common sense and then you get in the shower with him and….all I’m saying after all that talk of being a fighter she didn’t fight at fucking all this is one of k. Webster books that really upset me.

Five mafia stars for Talia and Kostas ❤🖤!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is the first book I've read written by these two authors, K Webster and Nikki Ash.

It is also my first mafia book which absolutely won me over and I can wait to read more books from this genre and of course, books written by these two truly talented authors.

"Hidden Truths" is a romance story with enemies to lovers, agreement marriage, mafia tropes and a lot more.

Talia and Kostas's relationship isn't one from a fairy tale and you become aware immediately at the beginning of the book.

But that isn't forever.

Between Talia and Kostas is a small flame that begins to burn, which later ignites.

This is definitely one of my favorite books this year and can't wait for "Stolen Lies" 😍❤🔥!!!

If you're looking for a good mafia book, this one is the book you need to read next!!!

Kostas and Talia grabbed me from the very beginning, I devoured this book really quickly. I could not put it down.
Talia is a stubborn and sassy character, but she is also smart enough to know when to zip her lips.  She challenges Kostas daily as he finds himself softening more and more to her.

Hidden Truths uses the forced marriage/ mafia troupe that is very popular at the moment. but the authors take in a new direction . The location, the setting, the characters are all unique enough to make this book stand out from all the others in this genre.

This is not my first tango with these two authors, I am a big K Webster fan and  I read their last collaboration HEATH an loved that too. They work well together, the story flows effortlessly and the story telling is consistent throughout.

There are definitely elements of suspense throughout, and this installment of the duet ends on a cliffhanger so be warned. It's dark, gritty, sexy and addictive. I can't wait to read the next book and conclusion to Talia and Kostas dark and tangled love story.

DNFed at 75%
15% in and I was borred. It picked up after that and became interesting.
The h is sold into marriage by her creep of a father to the Greek mafia.
The H is super alpha in the beginning. He makes the h witness him torture and kill a guy.
Long story short, the h is a virgin. She gets rapped but doesn't tell the H and it takes her about 3 days to get over it and start a sexual relationship with the H. I was actually looking forward for the book to portrait how she deals with this trauma but it is kinda swept under the rug.
Since this book is part of a duet, I assume that the drama will become more intense at the 85% mark but I will not stick around for that.
This book had potential but the execution was lacking for me!

The first chapter was slow, so I had some concerns, but once I began reading chapter 2, it was full speed ahead! Poor Talia is literally forced to change her life completely and marry an intimidating stranger. Their story was tense, sexy and had me on the edge of my seat!!!

My only complaint is that on the day Talia is forced into the arranged marriage, we don’t get her perspective at all. I imagine she had to have felt sick to her stomach with dread, especially after a very traumatic event happened to her the night before, but we get absolutely nothing... no inner musings, no thoughts, no descriptions of how she felt whatsoever.

I could also tell that this book was written by two different authors. Because this wasn’t proofread (or edited by an editor who knows how to proofread), it was obvious that one of the authors follows a certain punctuation rule while the other isn’t aware of that rule yet follows a different one. Same for an apostrophe rule. Despite this, I was deeply interested in the characters and eager to find out what was going to happen! There are twists, turns and fabulously dark scenes! I cannot wait to happen find out what happens in book #2!!!

This is the first book I’ve read where these two authors have written together, but I am a huge fan of K. Webster and Hidden Truth’s did not disappoint. It was fast paced, shocking in its brutality, and not for the faint of heart. The writing reminded me in a lot of ways of Pepper Winters, with the ability to paint a main character that was a dangerous monster of a man, shaped by his circumstances, but who you root for despite all reason not to.

Kostas is, in his own words and actions, a psychopath. He is violent yet controlled, having grown up the son of the mafia king of Crete. He is wealthy beyond comprehension and dangerous beyond reason. Yet when he is told he is to marry the daughter of his father’s enemy, he does his duty without argument or hesitation. Despite his faults, he honors his commitments. While it is twisted that he views Talia, his new bride, as his possession, he values his obligations towards her and never wavers in his protection. And in his own way, his affection. He is the bad boy that you know you should be disgusted by, but somehow you can’t hate this man.

Talia and Kostas are an interesting pair. One is worldly and savvy, brutal and unforgiving. The other is young and naïve and learning quickly to adjust to the new world in which she is thrust. Talia quickly learns that the people with the sweet smiles and overtures of friendship may be the ones she needs to be wary of the most. I loved watching her fall for Kostas despite every reason she had not to, and learn that the monsters aren’t always the easiest to spot.

Hidden Truths ends in a cliff-hanger with the second book in this pair to be released soon. And I’m glad there isn’t much of a wait because I can’t wait to see what happens. This is truly not for the squeamish, but the story is well told and races along at a breakneck pace. If you like dark, twisted mafia drama, this is the story for you!

It's not quite a safe romance, let me start with that.

But then again, you never know what you're going to get with any of K. Webster's books. In this one, it's an arranged marriage with Greek mafia romance. Gotta say, that's a first for me. Steam level not that high, as it focussed more on the conflicts. Our hero also had an instant 180° personality change, which I didn't exactly care because I was too taken back by the

So yeah. Definitely a good dark mafia romance but not the best (nor the most enjoyable) read I've had for these couple of days.

Fabulous, intense story!
Kostas is a demanding and cruel man. He takes what he wants with no apologies or second thoughts.
Talia is caught in the crosshairs of a powerful family and her own. She is strong but is she strong enough to deal with Kostas?
This story had me sitting on the edge of my seat. It had all the components of a fabulous story. There was lust, anger, dominance and submission. And lots and lots of making up.

This is my second book from this duo and, again, another baffling read.

Kostas Demetrious is “What you see is what you get with me, Psychopath and all.” He is the eldest son and heir of the mafia king of the most powerful family in Greece and does what is expected from him. So when his father informs him that he is to be married to Talia Nikolaides, the daughter of his father’s mortal enemy, Kostas does so without argument.
Kostas is not a nice man but does stand by his words, he is a man who honours his vows and commitments. “I am yours now as much as you are mine. And I vow to never let you go, even then.”

Talia Nikolaides, daughter of Niles Nikolaides who is heavy in debt to the Demetrious family and is forced to pay them back by negotiated is daughter. While Talia always intended to marry for love, she can not believe that she has to marry a man to pay for her family’s debts.
Throughout the story Talia becomes a strong and feisty woman, who realises that Kostas is way more than the bad boy and heir to Greece's most powerful kingpin. We see Talia slowly becoming and embracing her role as the wife of Kostas.

The story is fast paced, a real page turner and ends with a major cliff hanger that will have to read book 2, immediately after book 1.

Part of the Truths and Lies Series, and must be read in order:

Gahhhhh!!! This book! I am so sucked into Kostas and Talia and just everything! This story has a bit of a captive theme but I love the crime organization twist. And don't even get me started on Aris. There's suspense, intrigue and unpredictable bumps in the new relationship between Kostas and Talia. At about halfway through I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! AND I was only halfway through! This read was addictive and a bit of a page turner because I was always waiting for the other shoe to drop. When some secret would be revealed. When someone came for a little revenge. Give me the dark and gritty...I love it when I get some ruthless retaliation coming up next!

So this book started off promising, Talia being forced to marry Kostas because of her selfish father who owed Kostas money. I hate the father, he honestly had the fucking never to say Please forgive me, sunshine. You are everything to me. I JUST WANTED TO BITCH SLAP HIM THEN! Worst father of the year award goes to HIM!

Anyway the plot twists that led till the wedding. I WAS SO NOT EXPECTING THAT. It got me really excited to finish this book. After the first twist, I was still trying to process it and figure out what can happen next until another twist happens leaving me shocked.

Anyway up till that point I was devouring this book until everything just went downhill. Talia went from hating Kostas’s guts to “KOSTAS DONT LEAVE ME”.

Like okay after the first and second plot twist she could easily run away but she did not. And she became this needy girl after Khosta even though she just hated his guts a few days ago. So I did not understand the DRASTIC change in their relationship. So yeah blah blah blah book ends with Talia being kidnapped and I ALREADY KNOW WHO IS BEHIND EVERYTHING AFTER THE SECOND PLOT TWIST.

Am I disappointed with this book? Absofuckinglutely.
Will I read the second book? Yes BECAUSE I WANT TO SEE KHOSTA RUIN THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SECOND PLOT TWIST.

Hidden Truths by K. Webster and Nikki Ash was an incredible read! The plot grabbed my attention right from the start, and kept me interested throughout every chapter! The pacing is perfect with absolutely no lag time, with plenty of drama, angst, and red hot, delicious, steam to keep things going. Readers that loved The Merciless world by Willow Winters, The Kiss Thief by L.J. Shen or Bloodstained Beauty by Ella Fields NEED Hidden Truths stat.

Kostas is one of my favorite alpha/bully heroes. His intensity and directness is magnetizing, yet his reverent and devoted side is addicting. I cannot get enough of Kostas!!! I also loved Talia as much as Kostas. She's strong, yet relatable, tenacious, yet comforting. She definitely checks off all of my heroine boxes!

As book 1 in the Truths and Lies duet, Hidden Truths has me totally bought in and dying for book two! Start this gripping and riveting read today! Enjoy, book babes. xo

Thank you for the ARC !!!!!!!

This story took a hold of me and didn't let go. Kostas.. oh what an alpha you are!!! Loved how possessive he is over Talia and also how sweet he is behind his monster. Talia is a strong heroine after all she has been through. Her father woooo I hope he gets what is coming to him. There is one person in this book that I was so disappointed in ..well pissed the hell off ... and I hope that the one thought I have right now isn't going to come true in the next book. This book is full of twist/turns, hate, love, suspense, tragedy and so much more!!! I can't wait for the next one!!!

K Webster N Ash Truth and Lies duet

Wow! I had only the tiniest of ideas of what I was getting myself into when I decided to tackle this one (mostly because I often skip reading blurbs). No matter, stopping to write this was hard to do as it is intriguing and well-written. I'll be digging into the second half of the duet as soon as I hit post on the review.

Talia Nikolaides and Kostas Demetriou are NOT a match made in heaven, but that doesn't mean he's willing to go against his father's wishes.

I think I respect Talia even more when it all hits the fan, and she reacts with a clear head. Taking care of those who mean the most to her and trying to be helpful to someone who ends up hurting her in a way you can't make right. Sticking with the plan when a game changer occurs is questionable, but I can't disagree with her decision.

One week and I’ll officially have been sold to the Devil.

Lovely.

-- Talia Nikolaides

Kostas earns some respect with how he reacts to the news that her first wasn't enjoyable, let alone consensual. When the whole truth of it comes to light, I almost feel sorry for the perpetrator. Nah, he has earned whatever comes his way. Karma is a ....

I'm not buying into what Kostas is told as this goes into a cliffhanger. In the event that it's truthful, I suspect why, but I have serious trust issues with the weasel who utters the words. I'm not sorry one bit for saying that.

I read along with the audio book. The narrators are Sarah Puckett and Jeffrey Holz. I am frequently an advocate for duet narration. In this case, I really, really wish it were duet. I have listened to Sarah more than a few times and like her. Jeffrey's new to me, and he's great as Kostas, but his delivery of Talia makes her out to be whinier than I think she was intended by the authors.

4.5 stars!

What can I say...Just what can I say?

I have been dying to get my hands on this and I'm so glad I got to read it. This is the second time I've read something that was both by Nikki Ash and K. Webster- and I am not disappointed.

"The truth you’ll come to learn is that I am yours now as much as you are mine. I vow to learn every part of you in hope you’ll want to learn every part of me. If you ever lose your way, I vow to find you and guide you back to a place where we can be truly happy. By taking my ring and my name, you’re taking me too. We’re bound in more ways than either of us can count. For me, it will be until death. And I vow to never let you go, even then.”

Talia's father ends up owing a debt to THE leading crime mob in Crete. Instead of being a decent human being and father, he gives up his daughter in order to save his ass from being killed for his lying and greediness. This sparks Talia being uprooted from pretty much all that she knows and thrust into a sham marriage with Kostas... or so she thinks. Throughout all of this, she and Kostas actually develop feelings for each other. Turns out, her first impression of Kostas' brother, Aris, is wrong. In this book, you find out the reasons why the brother's father, Ezio, is exacting his revenge this way. This book is action packed, with a touch of sadness and darkness as well as an unexpected love growing.

I pretty much read this in one sitting and by the time I got to the end... Let's just say I'm probably not gonna get much sleep because- ON TO THE NEXT BOOK!

***I'll write more of a review later, or maybe on the review of the next book after I read it.
