The weapon is lost and Mathias is gone. Somehow I have to save him and the world.
I made a deadly mistake. Now both the Crown of Nimrod, an ancient weapon Spotters use to alter numbers, and Mathias are in enemy hands. Mathias is the only Ten in existence but there’s no guarantee that Weard will keep him alive. I managed to slow Weard’s plans down a little by stealing the Sapphire of Shinar which powers the crown’s full ability but now I have a deadline. I have one week to return the sapphire to Weard or let Mathias die.
I have one chance to make this right. I must find a way to gather allies among the dragon princes and Fae but I must also reach out to my father’s kin, the Jinn. My path is set from Petra to Weard headquarters in Chicago. I don’t know if we can win this time. But one thing is for certain, when I reach Chicago, the man calling himself the Nephilim is going to find out what happens when you try to separate a half-Jinn Spotter from her Ten.

I enjoyed the series. I never fully connected to the integrated paranormal/normal world, and didn’t completely understand some of the players and their alliances. However there are other series in this world so I may have started in a later one. Extremely character driven which I appreciate. The hero and heroine both grew a great deal throughout the series! I do feel like Mathias got the short end during his time “facing his demons” in this final book. It made sense but didn’t make sense at the same time. But that’s my only complaint. Overall a wonderful series with strong characters!
To begin with 5 must read 4 should read 3 a good read 2 needs work 1 not worth it
The characters presented an interesting twist on mythological beings in a current world environment. There were some minor disjoints in plot but nothing major. It was fun. It was light. It had highs and lows. It concluded.
The best compliment is that i will look at the authors other work after having read this series.
Though I could go for another addition to this tale, I am happily satisfied with its ending. Each installment offered more than its share of action and intrigue but this last tale has our little spotter Lauren coming fully into her own, rescuing her man, and changing her world. A fantastic read.
It was good to get a conclusion to the series. I have learned I don’t mind a series but at about book 4 ( on any series) I’m ready to move on. The first couple of books were really good, but after a while it was like.... another quest? Really. The series was good and over all probably 3.5-4 stars. It was enjoyable, I’ve read better and a lot worse. It was clean and only a little light language if I recall correctly.
