Pacific North Witches #2

Get with the Potion

Rate this book
Escape to the Pacific Northwest, where magic and mountains meet murder and mayhem.

Ali finally feels like she's got a bit of breathing room in her life. She's got a bit of cash to get by and is just waiting to take the test and embark on her new career. Plus, it helps that she's in everyone's good graces after solving a murder a few weeks earlier.

But when a witch Ali had a run-in with the previous day is found dead, everything changes. Ali finds herself going from local hero to pariah overnight, with the whole town believing her to be the killer. Never one to sit around and wait for things to happen, Ali decides the best way to take charge in this situation is by finding the killer herself, and clearing her own name.

Of course, the list of people who think this is a good idea has exactly one name on it: Ali's. Willow and Leda are sure Ali is going to end up getting arrested - or worse - in the course of this investigation, and Ali keeps on running into that hot new enforcer for some reason, even though she's doing her best to avoid him.

But as Ali digs deeper into the case, with the help of some new friends from Pacific Cove, she realizes not everything is exactly as it seems. Will she be able to get to the bottom of things and solve the case before the killer gets to her first?

Get with the Potion is the second book in the Pacific North Witches series of humorous paranormal cozy mystery novels.

Giant squirrels, fainting goats and now suspected of murder - what a week!

A great read. I would have give this a 5* but for two main things - the elf suddenly changed gender and Oliver suddenly became Andrew. Loved the way the characters are growing and the way she tends to cope with everything from bullies to the antics of her Grandmother. A great plot in which she stands up to a bully (after a morning with Gran and her nefarious plan for the squirrels) and then is suspected of murder when the bully turns up dead the next morning. Now half the town has her pegged as a murderer! Although her Gran rather enjoys the notoriety. Just wish her mother would get off her case a bit. However she decides to do a bit of investigating. Body swaps, fire ghosts, victims of bullying, a fainting goat (her new familiar) and blackmail. Will she find the killer and if she does how will it end?

Fantastic read! Silver knocks another one out of the park minus a few small grammar edits which I'm not demoting her for because I enjoyed the book that much!

Ali is the suspect in a murder investigation and in true Ali from she gets involved to clear her name but will she find the kil!let before they have reason to kill her for snooping?

Also someone gets a familiar and they're as cool as ice!

Solid 10/10

Read books in order, Ali helps her Grandmother with a plan to use squirrels, as her listening devices,
so far just recordings no video-yet. While Ali is waiting to re-take her test, she helps a student from
being bullied by a mean girl by Hexing her with boils. The mean girl swears to kill Ali for her hex.
BUT SHE -THE MEAN GIRL- WINDS UP MURDERED. Now the whole town is beliving Ali did it.
The Enforcers are looking at her too. Ali get to investigating, after all she is innocent. Along the way her familiar is foung, not what she expected. A mini goat that also has a "Fainting" spells when he gets frightened. Vinney and her hit it off, I mean Ali does seem to have some of the "Hardheaded Traits." Well written fun story, with adventures all the way.

Fun series

This is a fun storyline of a witch that is trying to find her way. The characters are well defined and likeable. The plot and subplots move quickly, but are a little jumpy. I am looking forward to the next book.
