A game-changing book offering a six-step approach on how to find and follow your true calling and redefine success from entrepreneur and soul coach Rha Goddess.
Are you willing to believe in you?
Every single one of us has a calling.
For most it’s the thing you have to force yourself not to do.
When you try to ignore it, you can’t stop thinking about. It is the thing that both terrifies you and brings you the most joy. Already living yours? Great! How do you make the most of it?
The Calling will provide readers with a road map, via 3 fundamental shifts, on how to stay true, get paid and do good . The steps that will help lead you there
RECOGNIZING ―it always begins with awareness. If you can’t see it then you can’t do anything about it.
ACCEPTING ―means embracing, and taking responsibility for yourself, your life, and the things that want or need to be changed.
FORGIVING ―yourself and others.
AND MORE!
The Calling will be the resource that people have been asking Rha to write for years, and there has never been a better time for her to share her proven method.

A Guide for Finding and Pursuing What You Want in Life
We all want a fulfilling life, but sometimes it’s hard to decide what that would mean and even harder to find out how to accomplish it. Rha Goddess provides not only a way to find your calling, but a guide to how to achieve your objectives.
The first step in finding your calling is deciding what you want, what your goals are, and how to define your thought processes. The second step is figuring out how to put your plan into action or as Rha says, “Get Paid”. The third part challenges you to “Do Good”. The book is filled with good advice, success stories, and exercises. The exercises are not designed to be quick. Some are suggested to take two weeks. This is not an unreasonable expectation if you’re trying to change your life.
If you’re dissatisfied with where you are in your life, this book will offer motivation and concrete suggestions for how to move past your discomfort with where you are and find fulfillment. It’s an easy book to read, and if pursued consistently can help you change your life for the better.
I received this book from St. Martin’s Press for this review.
Rha is the life coach we all probably need and most of us are still ready for.
I don’t agree with all of her philosophy but wow do I love her delivery. She is feeling herself and thrilled to help us feel the same way about ourselves. She wants us to love life and live in a way that makes that obvious.
I think If you read this book, you will walk away with do,etching you needed to hear. Bare minimum you will walk away with respect for the author and the way she lives life.
The book is pretty well written and very easy to read.
I received a copy of the book from the publisher Via NetGalley for the purpose of reviewing it. The opinions I have expressed are my own honest review.
Rha Goddess is an amazing, inspiring and fantastic motivational author. In The Calling, she offers a six step approach on finding your place in the world. As Walt Kelly said, "We have met the enemy, and he is us." and for many of us, that is true. Goddess describes on self discovery, self awareness, acceptance and forgiveness, how to get to that point of finding our calling.
This is not a speedy self-help book, as she suggests spending 2 weeks on an exercises before moving on to the next chapter and really, aren't you worth that time? Her points and suggestions are simple to understand and definitely worth doing. This book is inspiring and I am grateful to NetGalley and St. Martins Press for the opportunity to review it in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 stars It's obvious that the author really has a passion for her True.Paid.Good. and Move the Crowd branding, and she wants to share it with everyone. The reader just has to wade through a lot of anecdotes to get to the really useful info - although who knows, maybe they'll find the anecdotes helpful...I felt like the stories leaned almost into testimonial territory and this book would be a great supplement to a live event.
The writing has a casual feel, which keeps it from getting too dry, but occasionally the reader gets bogged down by long run-on sentences.
My favorite section was probably Part II: Get Paid. She asks the reader to delve into aspects concerning their finances and brings up many facets that influence how one deals with money. Very thought-provoking.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Goodreads Giveaway in exchange for my honest review.
This book is a money grab. It's the basic stuff you see on walls in Pottery Barn and it's the word soup of the spiritual world for wannabe influencers.
It's odd to me she focuses on racial justice but collects checks from speaking engagements where she's the only POC there and it's not about awareness but self indulgence of wounded whyte women. She's superficial and problematic in her words and faux wisdom.
She resonated with me the first time I heard her spoke and read her words, but I realized she just repeats the same things over and over, just a little different.
The Calling by Rha Goddess is a very detailed novel that discuss different things needed in order to achieve and/or find your calling. There are many thought provoking topics that will allow you to clearly define your life, thought process and overall goals. There are three main parts to this novel. The first part teaches the reader to “Stay True”. In Part two the reader is out on the path to “Get Paid”. In Part three having completed part one and part two the reader is challenged to “Do Good”. Stories and homework that is specific and targeted are also seen. This is a vast resource that also has website links that can be used to continue the process of finding your true calling. I have not seen a resource this detailed and full of hopeful advice and motivation. In a long time. This is an excellent resource for anyone looking for a change or affirmation that they have found their true calling . I received this book from the publisher and netgalley in exchange for a free and honest review.
Interesting and innovative ways to work through your personal goals to do what you were meant to do in all aspects of your life. There are work sheets for personal assessment and working through your viewpoints to reach your goals. Good food for thought. She gives examples of each concept that is introduced and includes some spiritual components. I received the book as an Advanced reader copy and was under no obligation to provide a review. The opinions expressed are my own. Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
I started reading this book in 2020 but got distracted for various reason, but also remember thinking is it worth going through all the exercised. I got an audio of the book that she read herself. I went all the way through it and now I feel encouraged to go back to beginning and do the work.
Not everyone is for everybody but I am a fan of Rha and have listen to her on several different Podcast which is how I learned about this book. If you are looking for some good questions, this book is full of good ones.
Up until part III, we were going great. I could look past the not-so-subtle criticism of capitalism and merit based success to take a away valuable thought provoking questions. I was encouraged to read this based on a recommendation, and was curious since Gabrielle Bernstein had written the foreword.
A tad too anti-capitalist, victimizing, and self righteous to make a meaningful impact for me. Rha's delivery was strong, and her points were articulate, but was not expecting this book to be so openly biased. Worth reading, but Part III and further went lost me.
This was exactly what I needed at this time. It’s a deep dive manifestation book but more like the homework/workbook I needed. The audiobook was very good to listen to. It’ll be one of the few books I’ll NEED to buy because of the detailed direction provided (such as sentence prompts and reversing blocking thoughts). If you’re ready to find your purpose and actually ready to make those changes - the. This is one of the best books I’ve read to do it (and I’ve read plenty).
This is a great book for any self starter person looking to branch out into being a life coach, motivational speaker, and social activist. I expected something else due to the title. This is the book for you if your calling is to save the world and you have a sector of the world you are passionate about. If you're looking for self help or guidance, you'll have to pick and choose what you get put of this book.
First I would like to state that I have received this book through goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity and honor in being able to read this book. When I received this book I began reading it at once. This book was a interesting read. I would recommend this book to others.
I received this book as a Goodreads Giveaway. I really like the premise of Rha's book. It's very thorough & has exercises to guide you through Rha's process. My only complaint is that it's really long. I feel like Rha would reach more people if she pared her book down just a bit. Otherwise, it's a great book, not only for business but for personal growth as well.
This is a really good self-help book. The author is encouraging and upbeat, with practical and down to earth advice on establishing a new career based on your true interests and passions. There's lots of worksheets and other resources in the book as well. This is much more than the usual "get rich on what you love" book. The author put a lot of effort into the book, and it shows.
Excellent guide for those looking to find/pursue their true calling.
Each individual will walk away from this highly spiritual (yet somehow also highly practical) guidebook for the soul with something different. I have pages & pages of highlights, notes & journal entries. One of the most generous books I’ve ever read (and I’ve read a lot!).
MEH. Rounding up from 2.5. I started reading this after hearing Rha Goddess’s fabulous interview on Kate Northrop’s Plenty podcast. There were a few good exercises in here, and, if this is the first personal development book you ever read you might find it meaty. But I can’t say I have any real takeaways.
Thank you for this book and for sharing the amazing inspiring stories.
Highlights from the book 📖
Your L3 (Live, Love, Lead) will become the baseline and the cornerstone for how you want to show up and be expressed in the world.
Step 3: Forgiving yourself and others. This is where the rubber meets the road.
Accepting, embracing, and telling the truth. It means taking responsibility for yourself, your life
Step 1: Recognizing that it always begins with awareness.
you can’t shake this burning desire to do something with your life that will actually make a difference in the lives of others, it’s time we get started:
I was given an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher to read and review. As an avid self-help book addict, I like this book. It gives a slap in the face and encouragement, all in the same sentence. It makes readers examine and make better choices. The exercises are relevant and motivating.
Fairly decent as far as self help books go. A lot of the example stories used are very inspirational-speaker focused. I don’t necessarily agree with the author on some of the points, such as belief in a higher power. However there are quite a few ideas that stick out to me to chew on.
