Discovering supernatural creatures are real is one thing but learning I have powers and learning to use them is quite a feat. My name is Violet Webb. I live in a small town that nearly worships Halloween but I hate it. I can't wait until I graduate and get as far as I can from that silliness.
Everything changed when I followed the white rabbit. I ended up in a Realm full of vampires, fairies, witches and every creature possible. Oh, Did I mention Jacques?
The hot shapeshifter with the French accent that makes me see rabbits everywhere? Now what?
Some bloody lady of Fate gave me a prophecy to get home. The only problem is that I must defeat the darkness before it swallows both of our worlds.

Maria Vermisoglou is an International Bestselling author of fantasy and paranormal with an obsession for witches. She loves throwing her heroes into impossible situations. Maria draws inspiration from books, travel, and…the ceiling. (So blame the ceiling!) Maria started writing when the stories she read became too boring and the voices in her mind too loud. When she's not writing, she loves a good riding on the fantasy dragon, but a book can also be exciting, along with a cup of tea. Nowadays, you can find her in Athens, exploring the mysteries of the ancient world.
In July 2018, she was nominated as the second place winner in the First Annual Indie Awards as the Favourite New Female Author.
I just couldn't. I got one-third into the book & I couldn't finish it. For me, the characters didn't have anything I could connect with or care about. I couldn't care about any single one of them. The ultimate evil could come and destroy both the supernatural & human worlds and I couldn't care less.
The author does a decent job crafting her story, but if I can't connect with the characters, I'd rather read something else
Omg. I love it. Absolutely brilliant. But I need more!!! Written beautifully.. Kept me on the edge of my seat. And the love story between Jacques and Violet. I can't wait till the next one. Keep up the good work.

Review: This was a good book for the most part. I thought the plot was interesting and the story was well done. The characters were also interesting and I was able to connect with them.
However, I did feel like the book was too slow and the world building could have been better.
This story is part of a box set I have and is for a YA readership.
Violet dislikes Halloween and yet when she discovers that supernatural creatures are real, everything takes on a frightening slant.
Shades of Alice in Wonderland hover but the story departs from that after Violet follows the white rabbit...no, nothing is as it seems.
Themes of magic, romance, good v evil, prophecy and much more made this an enjoyable read. It’s fast-paced and though it could do with a thorough proofread, it had a good writing style.
It’s in three parts, however there are more stories that continue the story; there are hints of what’s to come but is does have an ending with part three.
This is a good book. You have a girl who is clueless about the supernatural world who learns quick and takes out a bad guy. Things go great for a bit then a bigger bad guy comes in. All this time she is taking lessons on her magic and taking exams in her human form. I really enjoyed the story, it was unique on how it proceeded. I will look for other books in this series. I received a free copy of this book from StoryOrigin for an honest review.
This was just terrible. Disorganized. Shallow one dimensional characters. No thought or depth in any aspect. I’m mad I spent money on something that felt like a 13yr old wrote. It felt like the author just vomited up all the worst tropes of YA onto the page and didn’t even look it over again and just hit the publish button. Thoroughly disappointed, don’t waste your time
I really enjoyed this book. It kept me enthralled the whole way. Just when you think Violet has vanquished the darkness and evil and deserves rest and happiness it comes at her from a different direction. A delightful YA fantasy with all the magic and wonder of a really great fairy tale. I Highly recommend this book.
Beware the Violet: Part I by Maria Vermisoglou is the PG13 first book in her Eulogimenoi series about 17-year-old Violet Webb starting on Halloween in Emberfall that can be read in a long day. I had it as part of Adamant Spirits: A 2022 Charity Anthology of Romantic Urban Fantasy and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
So easy and comfortable to read that you don't realise you've finished it until you turn the last page. Loveable and relatable characters with incredible world-building. I loved, loved, loved this one. Definitely a re-read for me.
This book came to my hands just before Halloween and it’s about Halloween so how could I give it anything but 5 stars. It has all my favorite characters in it, fairies, pixies, witches, shifters, and monsters. When I first started it, it sounded like a take on “Alice in Wonderland” but it is way better than that fairytale. Although, who doesn’t love the white rabbit. And, really, a town that has a whole festival for Halloween to attract tourists, perfect.
Violet and her sister, Diane live in a small town. Diane is fifteen and loves everything about Halloween. Violet is seventeen and hates all the supernatural stories and festivities. But her parents make her participate and downtown they go. As Violet leaves the house, she sees a white rabbit but can’t believe it. Later, as she tries to sneak out of the party, she sees him again. Since this is extremely odd, she chases after him. Soon, she comes to a gorge in the bushes that she had never seen before and her world changes. As she falls after the rabbit, she is sure she will be killed.
But, do not fear. Her life of magic has just begun. She meets magical and mystical characters and learns she will be the key to saving the world. The only bad thing about this book is that it is divided into three parts and did get a little confusing as I tried to write this review. All parts are related even with a little take on “Harry Potter” thrown into the mix. I think all ages will enjoy this book.
Violet is just an ordinary girl, or so she thinks. Living in a town where Halloween is celebrated with all the works, Violet is probably the only one in the whole town who hates this particular holiday. In an effort to avoid the "silly" (to her point of view) celebration, she decides to take a walk and... she encounters a rabbit, who makes certain she understands that he wants her to follow him. Does this remind you of Alice in Wonderland? Well, all similarites stop here. Violet finds herself in a whole new world, where magic and creatures of legend dwell, while she learns she has magic of her own. Let the adventures begin...
The book is split in three distinct parts, each one following a different adventure, all of them interconnected. The narrative is easy and appropriate for young adults. I loved the storyline and the characters keep evolving with each page. There are plenty of twists and turns that kept me hooked throughout reading, as well as the budding romance between Violet and Jacques. Will they have their happily ever after? Read on and find out!
Ok I wanted to like this book. I thought the premise had promise and it sounded cute. I realize it's for teens and young adults but I was expecting a higher level of writing. I would categorize it more as a book for 10-12 year-olds. The characters are around 18 but the prose and the personalities are for a much younger audience. The reactions of the characters to situations are so juvenile it was hard to read. I also struggle with grammar issues. There were frequent blatant wording issues that could have been solved by a proofread. There were also aspects of the story that came out of nowhere and didn't make sense, some of them featured as a main source of conflict. I never felt they were explained nor resolved effectively. My last big complaint is that there is a nonsensical timeline. The days, weeks, and months described in the story just don't add up. It was terribly confusing. Overall a disappointment.
Violet Webb lives in a small town that goes all out for Halloween, she hates it. She is looking forward to graduating high school and moving away to go to college. While the whole town is at the annual Halloween party, Violet, bored out of her mind goes for a walk. Suddenly she finds out that the supernatural creatures that her younger sister is so enchanted with are real, and they want her to help save their realm for The Darkness.
Wonderful, well written characters. A young woman with no idea of the power she can wield, a snarky "bunny" shifter with a French accent, vampires, witches, fairies, and more. Fantastic characters, and a unique new world, I thought this was a fascinating beginning to a new series.
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
What starts out as a retelling of Alice in Wonderland, quickly turns into a thrilling adventure.
With a very different yet distinctive writing style, this book will appeal to not only young adults but to fans of paranormal genre too. What I really loved about the book was that though it was divided into 3 plots, each one was connected very beautifully and flawlessly. The plot lines were easy to follow and a pleasure to read.
Violet and her sister Diane live in a small town that Violet can’t wait to get out of. Diane loves all things about Halloween including the Supernatural, however, Violet thinks that it is ridiculous. That is until she goes on a walk this year and ends up following a white rabbit and then all heck breaks loose! Fun read

Finding love with a rabbit shifter has never been so filled with problems as Violet is learning. And it's not the sweet Jacques but the cruelties of the predator shifters who threaten any chance of happiness with Jack. A very intriguing and angsty romance. I really enjoyed reading this!

The characters are very cute and the storyline is pretty original. This is a great book the majority of it kept me happy when the main characters were dating. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a innocent romance between two hero’s fighting for others.

Violet gets to see what supernatural creatures are, but she didn’t believe she had any powers. Until now, things were great, what is she to do. Enjoyable.
Violet is an interesting character. Jacques and violet and kristy All make a great adventure. So many supernatural creatures. It is an adventure but also a love story.
