3, 2, 1... BLAST OFF into another adventure with NIBBLES the book monster! Join him as he causes chaos, meets a dragon and makes a brand new friend... Children will love to lift the flaps, peek through the peep-holes, and chase Nibbles through the third book in the award-winning series by Emma Yarlett ( The Book Monster and The Dinosaur Guide ).
Emma Yarlett graduated with honors in illustration from University College Falmouth in 2011. Her other work includes a nonfiction book by Julia Donaldson and animation for the Waterstones Children’s Book Award.
Cute! I loved the page-in-page design and all the little holes and uneven surfaces. It was so much fun to turn each page and explore all the visual and tactile details!
This book it's amazing how nibbles go to different books, my daughter of course she loved it, but I think my favourite so far it was The first one Nibbles: The book Monster
Just as fun as the first book, but a bit easier to follow and a bit more to read. Nibbles has escaped again and sent a little boy on an adventure through a book of facts, which turns into a joyride for both.
Another book in the Nibbles series, and it's almost as good as the first one. I'm giving this one 4.5* and, although it might not be exactly fair, the only reason it isn't 5* is that I simply didn't enjoy it as much as the first Nibbles book. It's still adorable though, and fun, and funny, and this one is in fact also full of educational material presented in such a away that it isn't obligatory to read it, so the book can work for both younger kids who will want to mostly follow Nibbles' super fun path of chaos and description, and to older ones who will enjoy learning something interesting about the sun, for example.
I love this series' concept of "book inside the book". It works especially well in book 1 when the little reader is already familiar with other stories, and here every book has its own theme as well.
I just love the illustrations, and Nibbles' face is always a delight.
I'm actually surprised these books have so few reviews because they're well worth reading and rereading!
Genre: Modern Fantasy Grade range: 1st-4th grade Review: I love all of the Nibbles books! I think they are so creative & really engaging! I especially like this one because it introduces space & facts about the moon for example! I think this would be really good to have in the classroom because it's fun & informative!
Read this to my grandson today. We both really loved it. It has 2 smaller books within the big book. Many pages have an enlarged word that is getting easier for him to recognize and 'read'. It's always fun when there's holes which make pages appear on other pages. He loves it when there's a monster in the book!
Thank you Penguin Random House Canada and NetGalley for the advance digital reading copy of this book.
I love how many facts were packed into this Nibbles book! The illustrations and text are super fun, I think kids will have a great time following Nibbles and his book munching adventures.
Nibbles is the best! This fun loving book eating monster works his way through the book eating actual holes in the pages. He causes chaos and laughter all while teaching kids facts about the solar system, colors and dragons.
I had to knock a star off because as fun as the story and illustrations are, all the facts presented are more engaging and geared towards older kids whereas the younger kids just skip/want to skip straight over them.
The 3rd book in this adorable series, Nibbles: The Monster Hunt, did not disappoint. In fact, I believe that little monster is beginning to grow on me.
