Life has reached a crossroad with different paths to follow. It may seem a good idea to follow the path of truth, but is Maxine ready to face what lays ahead? After all the ups and downs in her life, Max doesn't know how to deal with the situations that now present themselves under a different light. She feels lost and can’t find a way to take charge over her life. Even her instincts seem to be playing tricks on her. The truth that unfolds before her eyes has never been so overwhelming. Everything is perplexing and even more mysterious.
Will Max be strong enough to handle her troubles?
And what about Thomas? Will he adjust to this new chapter of his life and give Maxine the support she needs? Will he be able to get rid of the people who have done them so much harm?
In the last book of the Collateral Duology suspense, anything can happen. Even if at the end forgive is just a verb that will not exist in Maxine and Thomas’ dictionary.
As mentioned on my previous review, I was sceptical about reading this book as it is not my usual style of read. I enjoyed the first book and rated 4 out of 5 stars. No mercy was very well written and very descriptive whereas Don't trust wasnt as descriptive. I would say the writing was completely different on this book compared to the first in a good way.
I really enjoyed this book and finished it very quickly. I could not put the book down and it helped I had a 7/8 hour car journey so I could read, read, read. I absolutely loved the main character, Max, and wanted so badly for a good ending. I loved the story line and how it also relates to mental health issues too as Max suffered a breakdown in the book. 5 stars !!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you so much @cristimatthiesenauthor for kindly gifting me these books!
