Inspired by the worldwide hit Sanrio character and animated series star!
How do I get a job while still having enough time to party? I’m supposed to pay rent every month?! How am I supposed to live without my mom doing my laundry?
Adulting is tough. Thankfully, Gudetama is here to guide you on your path to growth!
I mostly read this to satisfy an UBN category, but I actually felt like Gudetama and Nisetama had a few nuggets of wisdom. Their bits about learning to say no and how to cut costs were nothing revolutionary, but I still felt like they were good to hear again and maybe reading them in graphic novel form helped me internalize them more.
More of a fun little reminder that we're not alone in the world of adulting than a guide. A colourful and slapstick graphic novel about the inevitable path we must face on our journey to being a somewhat independent functioning adult. A simple light read for those in a reading slump or lovers of Gudetama.
I hate the term "adulting," but this is still cute. Like the first book, this is definitely more humorous than actual advice - the problems are relatable, but the solutions won't change your life.
Really cute! This had a lot of really great wisdom in it: how to budget, how to take care of yourself when you reach rock bottom, how to deal with hearing a bad rumor about a friend, how to reduce your kid's screen time etc etc. My main criticism is that it felt too short! I wanted more!
I enjoyed this installment in the Gudetama series, but at this point it is starting to seem like the same thing over and over when you've read the previous issues. It is another round of Gudetama answering questions and giving advice, which sometimes results in surprising conclusions by those listening. There is a good amount of humor and some of the different characters tie into each other. If you enjoy Gudetama, then you will enjoy this one for sure.
Gudetama is back at it, this time with advice on "adulting for the lazy." Gudetama offers his advice to many individuals who are suffering from problems related to being adults. I would venture to say that being an adult is not fun for the majority of people but with Gudetama's help, it can be easier than you think. Topics related to finances, relationships, depression, and bettering yourself are all explored with appropriate solutions given by Gudetama. For such a small guy, he's got big ideas that work for everyone. With help from Nisetama, they balance out each situation with his extreme laziness and her increasing optimism on either side of an anxious individual. I was not familiar with the "Gudetama" books, but after reading "adulting for the lazy," I would certainly check out his other works as well. The length is short, and with it being in sequential art format, the overall reading time is minimal. This story is one that should be recommended and gifted to everyone, starting with high school and college graduates. I initially wasn't sure how I'd feel about this book, but it was a worthwhile read that was humorous and informative
I liked this one better than the holidays one. Kind of cute and amusing.
Maybe this one goes first? They actually introduced jumpsuit guy (Nisetama).
More of Gudetama going around giving advice to people. But the advice in here was, to me, a better mix of practical and funny than in the holiday book which I often found just kind of odd.
One more Gudetama comic to go, and I'll be done with my reading for the year!
