Rate this book
"Save Our Bees - Your Guide To Creating A Bee Friendly Environment" is a guide to show you what you can do to save our dwindling bee population. Over 70% of our food crops are pollinated by bees; a species that is dying out at a frightening rate. Scientists have expressed their concern that if something is not done soon to stop these pollinating insects disappearing, we will face serious, irreparable problems with the world's food supply.

Bees are an amazing species of insect; there are over 25,000 different types of bee on the planet, with over 4,000 in the USA and around 250 in the United Kingdom. Honey bees are probably the most important species of bee as it is estimated that 80% of the food eaten by an American has been pollinated by a honey bee! These 'busy bees' work tirelessly to pollinate our food yet they are losing their habitat and their natural environment as our monoculture farming expands.

There is a big movement across the Western world to save the bees and provide them with an environment that supports them. Everyone, no matter whether you live in the middle of a city or the country, can help the bees. This book is a complete guide to everything you can do for the bees from the best flowers to grow for them, to how to support them with our changing weather and much, much more. When you read this book you will understand how this docile, much mis-understood insect is the foundation stone of much of the life on Earth and why it is so important that something is done to help them.

Jason Johns

Jason has been a keen gardener for over twenty years, having taken on numerous weed infested patches and turned them into productive vegetable gardens.

One of his first gardening experiences was digging over a 400 square foot garden in its entirety and turning it into a vegetable garden, much to the delight of his neighbours who all got free vegetables! It was through this experience that he discovered his love of gardening and started to learn more about the subject.

His first encounter with a greenhouse resulted in fifty tomato plants growing like triffids, but he soon learnt how to make the most of a greenhouse and now grows a wide variety of plants from grapes to squashes to tomatoes and more.

He is passionate about helping people learn to grow their own fresh produce and enjoy the many benefits that come with it, from the exercise of gardening to the nutrition of freshly picked produce. He often says that when you’ve tasted a freshly picked tomato you’ll never want to buy another one from a store again! Jason loves feeding friends, family and strangers his home-grown produce and enjoys hearing how much better people think it tastes.

Jason is also very active in the personal development community, having written books on self-help, including subjects such as motivation and confidence. He has also recorded over 80 hypnosis programs, being a fully qualified clinical hypnotist which he sells from his website www.MusicForChange.com.

Jason also loves to grow giant and unusual vegetables and is still planning on breaking the 400lb barrier with a giant pumpkin. He hopes that with his new allotment plot he’ll be able to grow even more exciting vegetables to share with his readers. He spends spring fighting with his thirteen cats for windowsill space for seedlings and goes to elaborate lengths to protect his plants from overly curious cats.

At the moment, Jason is studying for his RHS Level 2 qualification in Horticulture. He has written over 18 gardening books and a dozen other books on a wide variety of subjects including self-help, beauty, cooking and health.
