Twisted Shifter

Rate this book
One little mistake changed everything.
The wolf who has shared Davin's existence since puberty has vanished from his soul and he doesn’t know how to get it back. But that seems like the least of his worries. Suddenly he can’t stand the sight or scent of blood. That makes things…awkward. His company specializes in vampire tours of the northern lights. Oh, and he just met his mate. Too bad she’s the blood slave to one of the vampires.
Wow, is he having a bad week!

It was supposed to be a week of fun!
Aurora viewing in Alaska is too good to pass up, even if it means Bree has to spend it with her ex-boyfriend turned friend. Wedge can sometimes be a drag and his friends are a little weird—they never go outside during the day!--but the aurora is amazing. So is the sexy tour guide. He’s the perfect man for a wicked vacation fling...
Except Davin and Wedge both have major secrets and Bree’s not sure she’s going to survive the big reveal.

Tielle (pronounced "teal") St. Clare has had life-long love of romance novels. She began reading romances in the 7th grade when she discovered Victoria Holt novels and began writing romances at the age of 16 (during Trigonometry, if the truth be told). During her senior year in high school, the class dressed up as what they would be in twenty years-Tielle dressed as a romance writer.

When not writing romances, Tielle has worked in public relations and video production for the past 20 years. Tielle moved to Alaska when she was seven years old in 1972 when her father was transferred with the military.

Tielle believes romances should be hot and sexy with a great story and fun characters.

An aurora viewing visit to Alaska with her ex boyfriend (they're just friends) turns into an adventure unlike any she could have imagined for Bree.
There's a mix up at the hotel which finds her sharing a room, though not a bed, with her ex, a bunch of stuffy, night owl friends which he insists they spend their time with, and a hunky local tour guide who's both willing and able to keep her warm.
This addition to the new Alaskan Alphas series offers wolves, vampires and a couple of surprise shifter species in a romantic, entertaining and often funny trip through Alaska in February that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Well written fast paced story with fab world building, surprises and steamy romance

This was a really fun adventure romance that takes our gal on a trip to Alaska with her ex. Well, things aren't going too smoothly with how weird her ex has been acting so she heads off by herself as much as possible. Sparks fly when she interacts with their tour guide, Davin. The romance is hot, but so are the secrets, and the consequences of keeping those secrets. I enjoyed how their relationship built, the action and the twists. All worked together to make this a page turner for me.

What happens when a wolf shifter’s wolf deserts him? Davin not only lost his wolf, but he can’t stand the sight or scent of blood, not a good thing for a predator. Now he has a group of vampires and their blood slaves on a tour to see the northern lights and he finds one of the blood slaves irresistible.

I had so much fun reading this book. Bree is so innocent and clueless, she doesn’t even know she has been dating a vampire, who gives her hickeys. And Davin is afraid that he has found his mate and she is a blood slave. No one wants to be the first one to tell her about the paranormal world, but the vampire Wedge and the shifter Davin will have to clue Bree in, and hope for the best.

Davin was my favorite character; the poor guy was struggling with his missing wolf and then finds his mate but is afraid she is off limits. Seems there are rules about poaching a vampire’s blood slave; but can Bree be a registered blood slave if she doesn’t even know vampires exist?

This is an enjoyable read of shifters in Alaska. In this second in the series, Bree had an opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis although the trip was at the expense of her ex-boyfriend. She thought what could go wrong since she made it clear they were just friends. But Bree didn't know what Wedge really was. Then she met Davin who was the tour guide for the Aurora. She had this instant attraction to Davin and spent time with him. Davin was a shifter who recently lost his wolf but had another animal inside him. He knew Bree was his mate but had to make sure she was not Wedge's blood slave and he had to let Bree know about him being a shifter and how she would also become a shifter if she accepted him as her mate. How would she take it? After some scary dealings with Wedge and the other vampires he was traveling with, things worked out for Bree and Davin.

Maybe a 4.5 ☆
But there where a couple things I did not like
- 2 spelling mistakes/typos
- the ending felt rushed
I would have liked a more extended ending
Instead of finding out in the epilogue how and when they mated

But overall a decent/original story line with a little suspense mixed in

Shifters, wolves, vampires etc

Another excellent short story about shifters. More romance and beautiful scenery in Alaska. This is a nice relaxing and short read.
