Taylor and Eddie have known each other for years. They were best friends while they were both attending school and studying music, and lost touch after college while both pursued their dreams of music stardom. Now he is a handsome Pop superstar, and she is finally starting to get somewhere in her own music career as party of a female country music group. Out of the blue, Taylor hears from Eddie and decides to actually make contact. They fall into the same old comfortable roles of best friends, though Eddie has a different relationship in mind. He has always regretted not telling Taylor that he wanted more than just friendship, but now he is determined to claim her as his. Taylor is stunned when he declares his love and his intentions. Her heart says yes, YES...but her head is saying not so fast and back up. She has never made good choices about men in her past and has always been left hurt and disillusioned. Her parents have always tried to steer her towards men they deem to socially acceptable (doctors, lawyers etc.), and have never approved or supported her music career. What should she do? Confused, yet somehow exhilarated and thrilled, Taylor is trying to be open to a change in her relationship with Eddy, though she fears everything could end in disaster and she could lose Eddy as a friend too. Eddy, bless is heart, is persistent. He manipulates his tour schedule and other events to give him a chance to win Taylor’s heart. Her band mates aren’t above giving Taylor a nudge in Eddie’s direction either. Yes their careers could make their relationship complicated, but love is worth it, right? Now to get Taylor on board.
This is a sweet, engaging story with characters that have real depth and dimension. This book is well worth the read and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
