The Echoing Skeleton welcomes each reader to enter the raw emotions, witness an organic point of view, revel in the beauty and fear of existence, and find truth in the abstract. This collection of short stories and poems introduces the author's unique voice which allows us to reimagine our field of view on that which is both common, yet misunderstood. A collection curated over the last decade of his life, this volume introduces us to Janssen's ethos of what it means to exist.
A dark melange of tales and poetry exposing the rotting undercarriage of the American family, this shocked and appalled in a thoughtful manner. And... sonnets? An odd transition but a welcome break from the short stories this book opens with. I am not sure that I can like this as much as experience it, however uncomfortably. I recommend a read, yet never before a cheerful event. A worthy first impression from Janssen.
