Philosophy of the art if living.

This book presented a way of basically becoming self aware and learning how to live a fulfilling life, while also learning acceptance of all races, genders and religions. It breaks down for you the virtues you should strive to understand and live by. It also explains how you should find a balance and become well rounded in your actions and desires to become a better person.

Every human being desires a life of happiness

What an awesome book! I am going to reread this one. And I found it at a perfect time of life. The recent death of my husband, covid 19, and changes to life everyday. The affirmations are spot-on. We all desire and deserve happiness and I think this book has the key. I highly recommend this book and I want to give it more than five stars

Ancient philosophies that are relevant today.

This book illustrates how relevant Stoicism can be in today’s modern society. Although I had some knowledge about ancient philosophers and Stoics and their teachings, I was surprised to learn that much of what they taught can be clearly seen in subjects like, emotional and business intelligence, biblical principles of ‘harnessing emotions’ and other teachings about how one’s mind and emotions can dictate the outcome of your life.

While I don’t subscribe to all of the teachings, this book provides good ways to incorporate some of the principles/teachings of Stoicism to modern day life. I loved the idea of ‘practicing ethical mindfulness.’

The cover art is quite beautiful. Thinking about purchasing the paperback.

Strong intro to stoicism

I remembered briefly learning about stoicism in college philosophy classes. This book opens with a great summary of the core ideas and beliefs of this philosophy. Then, each sibsequent chapter does a really good job fleshing out those ideas in greater depth. It even connects to modern times. Definitely a practical philosophy that can be helpful in the crazy times of 2020.

Live your best life

This book contains a ton of helpful information in good ways to live your life. I never thought of stoicism so much as a way of life, beyond just a general personality trait, but this book gave a lot of insight on how to live this kind of life for a more positive outlook. Definitely recommend this to basically everyone. Some seems obvious but it's things we take for granted or forget to live by so even having the reminder is helpful.

Live life well

I was afraid that this book would be a little over my head, but the authors made it very easy to understand. There is a lot of information in it, from explaining exactly what stoicism is (philosophy that teaches you how to live life well), to how to implement it in your daily life. It makes for very interesting reading and I learned a lot from it.

Interesting

The book talks about the history of stoicism, what it is, and how to use it in your own life. Some of the ideas seem fairly abstract to me, but interesting and could help bring calmness to people’s lives.

Great guide to introspection

This book is definitely not a summer beach book. The content is dense but worthwhile if you're truly interested in finding ways to self soothe and redirect your focus towards discovering your inner strength.
