Having now read all seven of the books in this magic-themed series for late elementary-age readers, I have to say that the stories and characterization are getting better and better. While the plots tend to be rather predictable as the four Star Friends [Mia, Lexi, Violet, and Sita] and their animal friends [Bracken, Juniper, Sorrel, and Willow] deal with threats from dark magic and rid their town of Shades every time, the four girls' personalities and differences are increasingly well developed. Each girl has her own special talent or ability, but in this one Lexi worries that the other three will leave her behind because their magic is more developed than hers and because her extracurricular activities prevent her from fully participating in the other girls' meetings and adventures. But as it turns out, some of her special classes come in handy as the Star Friends wrestle with a communication problem and their town prepares to compete for honors to be named the Prettiest Town. While there is a hint of scariness about these books, it's never so dark that young readers will be frightened to death, and the girls are so thoughtful and careful when dealing with magic that it almost seems to be matter of fact in their lives--save for the need to keep their abilities hidden from those around them. The charming illustrations, some covering one or two pages, add interest to the story and allow readers to identify with one member of this diverse cast of characters. Additionally, the chapters are short and are a quick read so youngsters won't feel overwhelmed by the amount of pages and text.
Wogole nie odczulam, aby była to książka dla dzieci! Znaczy-jest nią, to oczywiste, ale spodoba sie napewno nastolatkom(mi sie spodobalo) a moze nawet dorosłym? Nie jest infantylna. No i pokazuje, co oznacza prawdziwa przyjaźń! Nie ma tu wyidealizowanych bohaterek, każda ma jakieś wady, tak jak i magiczni przyjaciele. I mozna czytac bez znajomości poprzednich tomow. Ja czytałam tomy: 1, 2 i 3 ale to dosyc dawno temu, teraz sięgnełam po 7 i napewno wroce do poprzednich, których jeszcze nie czytalam.
I liked the book Same as the last one I think things are getting just a bit too repetitive and I don't like that Also one thing that I don't like about this book and books generally with Sita No hate to the character but I think they have given a lot of attention to her leaving others on the outside even though she isn't the main character I do appreciate that her powers are really special and that she has a nice character to develop even more but I think that's just to much of her
Ďalšie parádne dobrodružstvo. Diel od dielu mi príde lepší. Štyri kamošky prepojené mágiou, štyri rozkošné zvieratá, jedno malé mestečko, kde sa stále zjavuje nejaká temná mágia, s ktorou muisa bojovať. Už sa tešíme na ďalšie pokračovanie.
This isn’t as strong a plot as some of the others in the series, but it’s still a really enjoyable story. My seven year old daughter is loving this series, even though some of it is a bit scary.
The main characters are Mia, Lexi, Violet and Sita and they have star animals Bracken, Juniper,Sorrel and Willow. The mystery is who is stealing the Town's stuff (cleaning). Each girl worked together to find the culprit. In the end they all put the dolls back on the shelf and got ice cream and then headed out to the beach.

My kids love these books. They are extremely engaging, and they are constantly putting forward theories about what is happening and coming up with ideas and suggestions. Every time I have to stop before the book is over (which is always - we never read these in one sitting) they complain bitterly. Loved this installment, where the star friends had to figure out was the magic being done actually dark? This was a super fun twist in the series, and my kids ate it up.
In the moonlight mischief book of the star friends series the story begins with maia practising her magic shields and then bracken tells her to look at what is to cone for westcombe and she sees images of things and braken suspects that there might be dark magic coming to the village again. The next day maia and her friends are helping clear out the schools garden area and the hear about the best clean village competition and how mike a school counsellor really wants the village to win. Lucia maias buddy shows her some dolls the next day and maia feels creeped out she later has a dream about it and bracken fears its a magic dream. Maia goes for a fortune telling thingy at mike and anas house. Later in the book maia and her friends realise strange things are happening in the village to make it really clean. And they aren't able to find out what it is.Sorrel suspects its a shade. Maia gets another dream about the dolls and bracken thinks that it is a magic dream. throughout the books Lottie is sad because she doesn't have a lot of powers like everyone else but at the end of the books she develops a new magic. The shades are in the dolls and the girls work together to defeat them at last😄!

The book was Amazing!! I’m behind on my Reading goal so I was reading it to try and catch up and I put a timer to see how long it took me to finish. The book is about 4 girls who have magic abilities because of their Star Animals. The girls are Star Friends called Mia, Lexi, Sita, and Violet. Their Animals are called Bracken, Willow, Juniper, and Sorrel. The villains are Shades, in this book they are Heart Desire Shades. A guy named Mike wanted Westport to win the best kept village contest and the shades tried to complete his hearts desire in nasty ways by stealing 2 cats, a bunch of kids bikes and scooters, and ducks from a duck pond. They girls won in the end. It was really fun to read!! I recommend it 5/5!!!!
