I finally read the entire Bible this year. I used the chronological plan from the You Version Bible app as my guide. I won’t lie, the Old Testament was difficult to read-especially through a pandemic, but parts of the Bible were so rich it was hard to put down. If you have never read The Holy Bible I encourage you to try. It will change your life. If you read just one chapter-try John 3. Pray to God & ask Him to forgive your sins and you will have your eternity sealed in Heaven after you leave this temporary home on earth. And spoiler alert-God is Lord of all in the end and in Him we can have eternal life in heaven regardless of what happens here on earth.
I’ve read through the Bible every year for many years now, but this was the first time that I’ve ever read through it chronologically. I highly recommend reading it this way if you never have! It puts many things into context, and gives way to greater understanding of what you’re reading. This is my favorite book.
I have started this project many times and have never been successful. Well! I finally did it!!!! There are som many nuances to the Scripture when you read it in its entirety.
I have now read the Bible, cover to cover, 73 times. That is just one way I hope the value I put on this book can be told. I desperately hope that another, far more important way, is the impact that this book has on my life.
This is supposed to be a "review" of the book, but what right do I or any of us have to do so. What we should instead do is let the Bible "review" us. Is it changing us? Are we living up to the commands and dictates found in these pages? I know that I have a long, long way to go. But hopefully, with each time through, and with each daily reading, I become just a little bit more like him. Day by day, glory to glory, I pray that I am reflecting Him just a little bit better.
To be fair, I should probably note that I am actually reading the Bible in 3 different translations. My hard copy of the Bible I use in my morning devotions is in the NIV. The Kindle version I use when out and about is in the NLT. And when I am listening to it during my commute, I am hearing the ESV.
This was my first time through this book from cover to cover. A seriously intriguing and challenging way to read. The fast pace (cover to cover in 90 days) helped me recognize the recurring themes instantly, and I was even able to perform my own cross-referencing at times because of my recent familiarity with certain passages. It required a serious commitment, but I highly recommend the experience!
the plotline was pretty basic. the main character had a foot fetish, which was weird. the book was unoriginal. it was basically the same as the king james version.
Welp, it took a year and a half, but I read every square inch of it. Would have gone quicker had I not been distracted by the footnotes. There were plenty of times where I was reading for comprehension as oppose to speed so that also slowed my general progress.
In any case, no point really leaving a review on this one methinks. There were only a few bits of Scripture I had never read (at least in its entirety) before and I'm glad I have covered it all.
I don’t recall how many times I have read the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation but I always remember this : Heaven and earth shall pass away, but the Word of the Lord stands forever. Blessed be the name of the Lord! And as we near the endtimes, come, Lord Jesus, come !
I have read so many parts of the Bible. But, reading it chronologically, and with the Bible Recap podcast to summarize, my view of God's word has been changed forever. So many things that didn't make sense have been revealed by seeing the whole picture together.
I initially didn’t put a rating but decided to do so though I can’t really put anything other than the one I have given as it is the book of god’s word.
At times riveting just like a novel, at others difficult to get through, but a must-read for Christians, Jews and scholars world-wide, as almost everything about society as we know it comes from this ground-breaking text. It saddens me to know how few people have actually read this book cover-to-cover!
