Funny, smart, helpful and useful - now and for perhaps many years to come. This is a varied collection which includes thoughtful essays on style, interviews with notables including Tom Ford, recipes, checklists, travel destinations. It aspires to be a guide for everything from dressing well, going out, settling in, getting a good night's sleep, exercising right, personal grooming, outfit planning, and figuring what to say in meetings/art galleries/car showrooms. The prose stylists whose words hold practically all the weight here are much fun to read - glossy, erudite and tongue-in-cheek where it matters, but it is the off-handed phrase, or quietly reflective passage that takes one's breath away with how spot-on their observations are. These pieces are similar in nature to those usually offered by magazines but their nature and quality would outlast their usually ephemeral cousins, this is one book to return to again and again.

There are a few gems inside the book, unfortunately they are hidden in between pretentious write-ups

After reading the first Mr. Porter Paperback and feeling a bit disappointed by the hodgepodge of articles, I was excited by the prospect of a unified guide to living a stylish life. While there are still a few articles that felt a bit fluffy (including one or two that were hopelessly self-indulgent), the how-to sections were excellent. This was both an entertaining and informative, albeit somewhat fluffy, read.

A book full of some useful bits and like hacks, one that is related to life and all its aspects not only fashion itself. It is however a one time read and mostly surface-level stuff.

Some good articles in there, but it got a bit boring in the end.

Occasional eloquent and humorous expressions, hence four stars. I quite enjoyed it.

Das zweite Kapitel: Why getting dresses is a lifelong Process" hat mir sehr gut gefallen und beschreibt viele interessante Gedanken, die ich auch schon häufiger hatte
