In my circle of friends, fellow sport enthusiasts if you will, I’ve always been team leader.
Recently though, I’ve simply run out of challenges. I’ve conquered the hunkiest, most untouchable of players. Dare I say, I might have ruined a few of them as well. #goteam
But when I thought I was out of games to play, stories to tell, and ready to give up the sport entirely, I met him.
Kevin effing Dane.
With an entire city that’s in love with him, sponsorship deals that could buy islands, and a body that’s fine tuned for throwing footballs and *ahem* people, Kevin’s practically a god among men.
When we meet, it’s game on.
But despite the heat between us, I have to keep my thoughts to myself.
Kevin thinks I’m fun, but to me, and it freaks me out to say it, he feels like the one.
Is Kevin my perfect match or one last hoorah before throwing in the towel for good?
copy received for honest review. this was a different angle on a sports romance. We see things through the eyes of a groupie. Tyra was the ultimate jersey chaser. However ,she wanted more. When she meet the big time NFL hunk, Kevin. She knows he is the one. What follows is a little stalking, a lot of steam and some back and forth moments. We live in a world of double standards so some people may be put off by Tyra's character. I loved her confidence and the fact that she was living her life as she wanted while it worked for her. When it no longer satisfied her, she went after what she thought would make her happy. After some faltering steps along the way, she succeeds and getting her HEA.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book!
This was a newbie author for me and it was a little taboo. The writing was good but their wasn't that much dialogue. I wanted to enjoy it more but the main character, Tyra, was a selfish individual with only one goal. It was a turn off for sure. But tge supporting characters made up for it.
Tyra was a jersey chaser and she was proud of it. From a very young age she was attracted to football players in their uniforms and didnt have any shame. Her lack of safe encounters really was despicable and disgusting. She tried to turn "straight" and leave her vices of hooking up with a famous football player behind ger, but she sucked at it. She was lonely but not enough to reallly consider herself or her reputation. Her so called friends degraded her and she bypassed their behavior. She also took stalking to another level. I get that her and Kevin had chemistry and there did seem lije a real connection. However, hunting him down even after he didn't call for 3 weeks was depressing and embarassing. Her lack of tact showed in her ways and she is someone I would not ever consider being friends with.
I liked the fact tgat when Tyra came clean to Kevin, he dismissed it and was just happy being with her. It was cute that he really took her feelings into consideration. They definitely have some obstacles to overcome considering her past and his life outside of NY, but they seemed like a cute couple had there been more dialogue. All in all it waa just okay for me.
it was good bc she was unapologetically a hoe. no one made her apologise for being a hoe. she never shamed herself for being a hoe. she was a fantastic hoe and even though it was corny as hell, she was cool because she wasn't ashamed
Tyra and her girls, Kelly and Amy, are admitted Jersey Chasers—they love the men who love the game of football—but these men are not the armchair quarterbacks who watch Monday Night Football “brought to you by” ESPN. No, these girls love the men who train for months and sacrifice their beautiful bodies for the sport of football. And while Tyra hates to admit that while she doesn’t lover the game of football, she has been a card-carrying member of the Jersey Chasers Club since high school days when she chased and caught herself a quarterback. And, she and Friday Night Lights star of her high school—Ted Burnhart—were the dream couple until the first week of college when Ted dumped Tyra to play in a bigger league.
Now, a 27-year-old adult—not a starry eyed adolescent—Tyra is wary of once more allowing herself to indulge in her former “jersey addiction”. As a college dropout who never finished her marketing degree, her life has settled down to daily shifts as a gainfully employed waitress at a local Georgetown sports bar, The Beer Helmet. She understands that hard work and dependability are more likely to propel her into the future than dreams of jersey-wearing men who play under Monday Night Lights. But, her girls still feel the thrill of jersey chasing, so Tyra goes along to enjoy the party, the dancing and the free alcohol. And, having given up hope of catching a jersey, she swipes her way through Tinder always in hope of a match that will result in a real and meaningful adult relationship that leads to love and marriage. Until, at one jersey filled party she meets Kevin Dane a baller, yes, but a man different from the usual “play hard and party-harder” jersey-wearer. He is thoughtful, involved in charitable endeavors, and heathy in his choices —not chasing drinks or skirts indiscriminately. And when she learns that he is single…well, sometimes people, in the same circle of acquaintances and learning of the same parties just end up at the same places, right? She is definitely not a stalker.
Ashlyn Hope’s initial entry in her Jersey Chaser’s series is case study of an individual from through stages of interest to friendship to love. The story is filled with tender and passionate moments as Tyra and Kevin unexpectedly discover that a soulmate is possible in a jersey-filled world. I will be interested to follow the other entries in this series.
I received a free ARC of this book from Booksprout, but I purchased the Kindle version to read and review.
Young female sports groupies by any name (eg, jersey chasers, puck bunnies, cleat chaser, baseball annies, etc) are often featured in sports romances as secondary characters that are routinely referred to in derogatory terms as being classless, degenerates, gold-diggers, mentally unstable sluts, etc., notwithstanding that they’re no more licentious than the sports jocks they “sleep around” with. I’ve never read a sports romance where one of these women is the lead character (and I read lots and lots of sports romances) until I read Ashlyn Hope’s The Trade: Jersey Chasers #1. Lo and behold! Shocker: she shows these young women to be, well, people with their own hopes, dreams, and desires, and their good and bad sides. It’s about darn time somebody did this and it’s done perfectly in this book. I loved it and I loved how the heroine here, Tyra, slowly came to a realization that it was time for more, an evolution that is often seen on the male side in these stories, with this then growing stronger as she found the one meant for her. Now this is a sports romance, after all, so that special someone happens to be a sports superstar but they “click” on many levels beyond his being a hunky jock and that’s the key - as is the fact that her strong (mutual) friendships with other jersey chasers doesn’t change. I totally loved it. Well written, with a great plot and characters worthy of their own stories (which I suspect - and hope - will come), this is a real winner of a book. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first book in the new series Jersey Chasers which is about a group of women who like to sleep with football players. In this book, Tyra has always been attracted to football players and has made it her mission to hook up with as many as possible. Tyra has always enjoyed this, but lately she is starting to think she wants more than just one night stands with players. When Tyra decides to try and date men and find someone she could have a family with, she learns that Kevin is being traded to New York. Kevin is a star quarterback that Tyra has always had a crush on, but she thinks he is out of her league. When Tyra is invited to a party that Kevin will be attending, she thinks she has to try to get his attention. Kevin noticed Tyra at the party and when they met again a few days later, they hook up and Tyra thought there was a real connection. When she doesn't hear from him again, Tyra decides to "accidentally" run into him again. When they continue to see each other at random places, Kevin asks her to dinner and they begin a relationship. Things are going well, but Tyra knows she has to tell Kevin she was a jersey chaser and that she stalked him to see him again. Also with Kevin talking about going back to LA, they have a lot to talk about. I liked this book and thought Tyra was a little obsessed with Kevin. I liked Kevin and thought he was a good guy who really wanted to find love. I think the jersey chasers were not like i expected them to be. I thought they would be more obsessed with money, i was pleasantly surprised when i read this book. I liked the women were so supportive of each other and that they all wanted love. I will be wanting to read the rest of this series.
This is going to be such a fun series if you love sport romances. The Trade is the first book in a seven book set (it is noted one will be released every two weeks until all seven are out). It follows a group of girls who are jersey chasers (football player lovers) with our main character being Tyra. I loved knowing that Tyra is a mixed character as her parents were half Caucasian and half Japanese and African American.
This was a really quick read and I read it in one sitting. This is a little over 200 pages, and will be fun stories to grab for when you may be in a slump (which is what I did). There was not much depth to the story or the characters, but it was enjoyable. I wanted a little more sports and not just knowing the girls were chasing players. This almost read a little like a Watt Pad story for me (which is not a bad thing). I am excited to see who the rest of the books will follow since there was only three main girls in this one. I would like to have a little more development as we go, as I did not really connect with any of them.
Overall, an enjoyable read and I would definitely read more in the series.
Tyra, Amy and Kelly always had each others back and was always at the gates after the football games. They were considered jersey chasers, always wanting a piece of the football players. They all had their eyes set on a baller and would always leave with one. Tyra, was David but was tired of being with him. Amy and Kelly were all about the parties and soon Tyra was always looking for Kevin Dane a 7' hottie and she wanted him. As time went on she rarely got to see him after the first time. Then Tyra was showing up to parties he was at all because of Amy being with Quintin another baller. Tyra and Kevin started to become more over the time and the one night David happen to show and was getting in Tyra's face. Kevin saw it and was making his way and punched him, his friend pulled him back and the other guys started in on David. Bouncers showed and they had to leave. Their relationship was rocky and then they just had to trust each other. This is a great book on trust issues and learning to trust again, with wonderful characters, drama, romance and the HEA.

This is a super sexy and sweet erotic romance that completely turns the sports romance genre on its head. Tyra is a football groupie or “jersey chaser” and has the chance to meet the star quarterback for her hometown team. When she meets him, she immediately realizes that he’s the one she wants to tame her ways for! The love story is exciting and hot.
My only complaint is that the author could have fleshed the story out another fifty pages or more by adding in more details about the actual games/Kevin and his co-players. Also, there is a LOVELY message that I 100% support that promiscuous women are not bad. A little more time could have been spent to drive that point home in one key scene, in my opinion.
Overall, this was such a fun read and I devoured it. I will return to this series to find out what shenanigans the other jersey chasers get up to!
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
The Trade or Sacking the Quarterback. This is the first book by this author and I am not sure I want to read the next book in the series. In this series the woman are the bad girls that have to be tamed. These three friends since high school become "jersey chasers" which in other words are girls who chase after men in sports and do whatever with them. They are also called "groupies". The way Kelly talks, she plans to build a life of doing this. Her friend Tyra finds a football player and pretty much stalks him, but finds out he is a nice guy and starts falling for him. But they have issues because of her lifestyle and he almost walks away. Kevin decided to take a chance with Tyra and see that they have a lot in common and falls for her. Tyra and her best girlfriends are all about the men in uniform...football players that is. Tyra and her friends are familiar with all of the guys on the team as well as surrounding teams. Tyra never dates the same guy twice. However, when she meets Kevin; she makes an exception. Kevin shows Tyra that she was smart to give him more than one shot.
This book could have taken a turn to really raunchy but the author did a good job of making sure it didn't go that way. Yet, this book is between a sweet romance and an erotic one. It does bring some heat. In the beginning I was not sure about the book as I did find Tyra and her friends to be a bit too superficial. Luckily, I did warm up to Tyra. I had no problems with Kevin.
If you are looking for a fast read with a dash of spice, than you may want to pick up a copy of this book.
Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. We meet Jersey chaser Tyra who is after the main prize...the top gun of all football. However her sights are sidelined then after sleeping with a lower baller, she feels her life needs more than just chasing footballers. She sets on the path of being a good girl when the grand daddy of all players is traded to NY. Her friends and her get into a vip party for Kevin and wham...instant connection. Next thing she knows shes serving drinks and food to the man himself. Strategic considences lead to Tyra running into Kevin at various parties and after an amazing night together ad being ghosted, its time to put her hig girl panties on and move on from Kevin. That idea went out the window when at a coffee shop he asks her out on a date. Will Tyra tell Kevin about her Jersey chasing days? Will that be the dealbreaker for Kevin?
Girls just want to have fun... or a relationship... This was a fun read, that kept me entertained throughout the story. We follow Tyra as she turns from jersey chaser to girlfriend. The writing was good and the story was easy to follow.
There were a few things that made my rating lower. The fact that the main character was unrelatable and totally full of herself made me not like her much. She gave off the vibe of a support character than a main heartthrob, but toward the end of the book, it cleaned up a bit. Also, the steamy scenes came on quickly and ended quickly. A little more build up and sustainability would have been more interesting to me.
All in all, it was entertaining and I'm glad I read it.
Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.
Loved the bad girl (wink wink) theme to this story. Tyra believes in fun and ALL things football especially the players (haha). She has naiveness mixed with edginess. You do see a bit of her discontent within the world she had created for herself. You see her desire to fine THE ONE and is second guessing her jersey chasing. This actually made her more interesting but I wish we would have gotten more of insight into her choices. Throwing Kevin a sexy athlete into the mix, gives us some steam and heat, making these two a hot couple. My one critique is I wanted more details, providing greater understanding. I would have liked more backstory. Overall a good read with some naughty in the mix. Happy Reading.
The story was good. It is about Tyra, a girl obsessed with football. Tyra and her friends are jersey chaser looking for their next hook-up with a football player, after being treated badly, Tyra decides to give up on football players and looks elsewhere for love. However, the new QB, Kevin Dane, has caught her eye. He is different from the other players, looking to settle down and be in a relationship. Weeks go by between interaction between Tyra and. Kevin, but when the do get together the chemistry is instant. As the season comes to an end, Kevin is going back to LA. Tyra needs to choose the next step in her life. The story ends in a HEA.

I honestly wanted to read this story based on the description of the story, and I was intrigued how it was going to play out. However, this story didn't capture my attention like I thought it would. The story is told completely in 1st person, Tory's, point of view, and to me, seemed incredibly boring. Tory and her friends, the jersey chasers, seemed a little vapid, and I know that's the point of them, but it took a lot out of the story for me. When Kevin Dane enters the story, it appears that there are fireworks from across the room, but that even feels flat to me. I just couldn't get into the story like I was hoping.
Please note that I received an ARC of this story, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
FUN FUN FUN! That’s what these three women have decided to do. While in high school they made a pack to sleep with football players. They would check them out and each decide who they were going after. Well 10 years later they are still doing just that but one is feeling like she wants to stop and settle down. The other two think she’s crazy for wanting to do that in her twenties. While contemplating what she wants to do she gets Kevin Dane, everyone loves him. Having a wonderful time with him she ends up thinking he’s the one. Will he be the one or just one last baller before she gives them up?

A different take, as this story is bad girls not bad boys. Ok, but not one of my favorite reads. And is definitely not a proponent of safe sex. Tyra, Kelly and Amy have been jersey chasers since high school. Tyra spends her days as a bartender and her nights partying with her girls. But, she is considering that maybe it's time to find a good guy and settle down. Now though she's heard that Kevin Dane (yes, that Kevin Dane) the renowned quarterback is coming to town. So, she postpones her plans in the hopes that she can land him, and once she does, can she keep him?

I liked this book a lot and I'm very interested in the upcoming books. Both characters are relatable. They both are looking for forever or at least something that comes close. But the fact that she stalks him and he ignores her after their first and second encounter doesn't sit well with me. Maybe the message is to persevere and everything you want comes true. Well, let's keep it at that. All and all, the book is very easy and fun to read. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
I loved the fact that the girls got to be sexually free and not be made to feel cheap. Three best friends are jersey chasing from high school to Young adult hood. Then things started to change. Tara wants to stop and settle down when she meets the man of her dreams. Will her last come back to haunt her? Can her love interest look past her many sexual relationship? I loved reading this first in series and look forward to the storyline of the two best friends
I really enjoyed "The Trade" by Ashlyn Hope. I recieved a complementary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This was the first book I've read by this author and I was attracted to the plot line. It was fun to read the progression of how these characters came to meet and fall in love- it ended up exceeding my expectations and I can't wait to see where they go with the series. Enjoy the read!
I liked the story overall but it took me a while to warm up to our heroine, Tyra. She is a 'jersey chaser' which means her and her friend's goal is to sleep with as many football players as possible. She knows it's time for a change so she sets her goals on star QB Kevin Dane. He turned out actually be a nice guy, sometimes too nice. A lot of times I just wanted to slap both of them.
I received this book from Hidden Gems and l am volunteering to leave this review.
This is the 1st book in the Jersey Chasers Series.
Tyra is a football groupie. She is starting to get tired of her life and is looking to settle down. Kevin is a star quarter-back just being traded to the local team. She runs into Kevin and he decides she is the women for him. With ups and downs along the way do they get their HEA?
I read this story after receiving a free copy through a book promo. It’s my first time reading this author. This book had some bright spots but was not that consistent throughout. The dialogue between characters was the weakest part of the story. The actual connection and internal dialogues were the strongest. The story itself would have benefited if there was greater consistency as it would have not only flowed better but brought the story together.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh wow, these bad girls are so good and had me hooked. Loved Tyra , Kelly , Amy and Sadie. Laughed so much. Never heard of Jersey Chasers before (I live in the U.K.) so it was good to read. What do you do when you get fed up partying and want something more. Well Tyra is about to find out with famous Kevin Dane. Does he love the same lifestyle or is there more to him than you think. A brilliantly written story, loved it
Can Groupie's Change Their Ways? This is book one of two in the Jersey Trader Series. Tyra is a member of the “Jersey Chasers,” a group of friends who go out and help each other score with football’s hottest recruits. She's a groupie who changes her ways when she meets Kevin. A lot of drama and some twists
Tyra was an interesting character as she had quite a thing for football players, yet when she met the right man she was also willing to settle down with him. I found her story interesting because her character was so different from me. This made her very interesting and I especially liked the way she felt like a real person.
The Trade (Jersey Chasers #1) was a well written book that had good characters and a decent story. My only complaint was my ability to accurately predict most of the story and the book as I found it rather predictable. However, I have read a lot of romance books and that does make it easier to predict a story. That aside the book was a decent read and made for good night time reading.
