Killer grendels are not key characters in books I usually read. I'm more of real world guy. So Val Tobin had her work cut out for her when I started reading The Hunted. Not surprisingly, her writing more than rose to the challenge.
I found the story engaging from its first chapter and enjoyed suspense building as the heroine coped with repeated opposition from multiple characters and with lethal intentions. A fun read, carefully crafted and written with passion.
Enough plausibility to keep a real-world guy well engaged and entertained.
An exciting and terrifying story from start to finish. Rachel (Frostbite) and Jack (Hound Dog) have more to worry about than the grendels roaming the forests. Something even more sinister awaits them. The plot twists will keep you on the edge of your seat. Who will survive? Who will die? Make sure you read Storm Lake, as well, to get the background on how the story began.
