Ended at 90% on what is definitely a cliffhanger, in a clear attempt at leaving the reader wanting more by cutting off in the middle of a sex scene. Unfortunately, that doesn't work on me.
This was not terribly written, not in the sense that the words didn't make sense. I've definitely read worse. It was more of a case of the author didn't quite know what they were trying to say and the attempts at dramatics made pretty much everything seem way too over the top and campy.
The worldbuilding and characterisation were both inconsistent. One time the door has no lock or key, another time the MC has to pick the lock. One of the girls is a friend until suddenly she's a scheming harpy, and also the reverse happened, too. There were supposed to be three Vampires but I'll be damned if I could ever recall all three of their names at any one time because there may as well be only one - and it would probably be more interesting if only one character held that kind of sway! The MC is definitely one of those empty-headed twits that thinks she's a badass and has a life-threatening need to break rules and explore for no reason at all... but only sometimes, because inconsistent.
I found the prose unengaging. It took me months to finish this, and it's not that long. I don't know if the other books in the series are as short as this one because I won't be reading them. On the plus side, it was free so the only thing I've lost is my time.
Ehhh, if you’re into young adult books this would probably be for you. It’s like high school dormitory with mean girls. They all know what they’re there for and only one will be chosen. Why even bother being friends or getting mad at each other if none of you really never wanted to be there in the first place? And the MC, quit acting liking a goodie two shoes wanting to please everyone and be everyones friend, when your main goal is to kill the vampires, revenge. Seriously, you can’t even protect yourself from the werewolves, how you gonna kill 3 vampires?

Dark & Seductive It's Just Not My Taste I'm Afraid!🔥👀🙏😢😔 Chosen by the Vampire: Book 1
Sometimes you anticipate you'll love a series, this was one of those for me. I'm gutted I didn't enjoy it, at all. There was nothing particularly wrong with the writing. I think I struggled with the huge imbalance of power & our, as readers, complete lack of knowledge. I'm fine keeping character's in the dark that much, but I personally need more information to be able to become invested & fully engaged.😒 Unfortunately I won't be continuing with this series. It's just not for me.👎
Asena wants revenge on the sinful for the murder of her family. She's planned for this and she's gonna see it through. She know what the vamps want and even tries to help one of the other girls from getting herself killed. This brings attention to her from one of the Sinful. I will continue with the next one.
This was a different story than I have read before. This is just the first part in the series and it will be interesting to see where this goes. This definitely felt like an opening and it was short and quick so looking forward to seeing what happens next, not quite sure about the overall series yet.
Definitely recommend! Even though this was more of a novella or short story, I did enjoy it a lot and look forward to the next book in this Series. I know there is a lot more to know about the story. I also have to admit that this is my first time reading a book by Atlas Rose, but it definitely won't be my last 😊
Atlas Rose has impressed me yet again. I found her through her Academy of Lies series, which led me to this one, Chosen by the Vampire. Ms. Rose has a true talent in creating vivid worlds and characters. They feel authentic and pull you in, holding you tight in your desire to find out what’s going to happen.
This is such a good story! Asena, being pulled apart mentally and emotionally, fighting the influences of three powerful vampire lords, Arkyn, Lorcan, and Cassian. Will she prevail, this mere human girl, against the powers of these warrior vampires? Well, you’ll have to get into part 2 to find out because the book ends on a cliffhanger. The second part is published, and I’m on my way right this minute to find out.
I read a lot of books and I have a rather short list of favorite authors and Atlas Rose has now been added to that list. I’ve read a few of her books now, and she hasn’t disappointed me once. I highly recommend her.
This book was great in calming down my dogs down yesterday afternoon when the first batch of storms was coming through. That was when the power was knocked out. I had enough light to crotchet before having to light candles and my oil lamps. by that time it was getting close to the end of the first book and a break. That is advantage of an audio book. you can lay the kindle down while doing other things. And I will not say anything about what is in the story because I dogs will get upset with me. and they are getting antsy becuse they are ready for the book in the series. Thank you for getting them hooked also. :) :) :)
Asena, a conniving manipulating human girl who choose the path of destruction... she determined to take revenge on her parents’ murderers, The Sinful... its to see how strong Asena is against The Sinful and how she is played by the other competitors... it’s beautiful how well Atlas Rose conceived the strong characters and their traits.. Worth Reading!!
Interesting start to a series, I don't like that it's such a short story, and that there are so many more to come. I will say I am intrigued, I will ne continuing to the story to see where this takes us.
Ooh I think I’m going to like this series. Good balance of action and adventure. Good strong storyline. Just getting to know the characters. Great narration.
