Jackson and Quigley now have an FBI radio that clues them into when big events are happening around town. There's an escaped prisoner on the loose, and the two penguins are eager to prove their stuff by helping capture Icejob. But then Jackson's mom starts feeling ill and needs Jackson to take her place with the egg in the Golden Egg Games...and his mom's friends are keeping tabs on him for her. How can he get out of this competition and back to top secret spy stuff?!

A rather convoluted but eventually clever spy adventure with Jackson and Quigley. This one was definitely different from the others in this series. I feel like the boys actually made some personal character progress in this one too, especially Jackson's relationship with his younger sibling. There are some big clues as to what is going on with Icejob so see if young readers can catch those and figure out where he is during the adventure. This series is a great pick for reluctant readers or lower reading middle grade readers (or high reading lower grade readers). What's not to love about penguins who are spies? Especially somewhat fumbling spies. :)

Notes on content: There's one potentially perilous situation, but it ends up ok without anyone getting hurt.

Jackson knows he's in for a frustrating day when his mom asks him to eggsit his soon-to-hatch sibling and he caves in to a challenge to enter the Golden Egg Games. But he and best friend Quigley have an unexpected opportunity to continue their quest to become secret agents for the FBI when the Games trophy and a rare sapphire are stolen by an escaped prisoner. Teamwork and a robotic woolly mammoth may just result in another case solved by agents 00Zero and Quigley. Another lively entry in the series and a challenge for readers to solve the mystery before the squad of Jackson, Quigley, and Egg.

I love the part when the woolly mammoth took agent 00zero and the agent Q to Icejob, the thief, and when the FBI hired the two penguins.

I’m also very proud of Jackson & Quigley for catching Icejob with the woolly mammoth.

This was such a cute series, my 7 year old loved it! A good, easy to follow plot for the age group it's written for as well as a fun mystery to solve. It's too bad that this was the final book, but it had a nice ending.

It was the one of the best books in the series and I loved the twist with the grandma penguin being icejob.
But overall it was a really good book.

I read this out loud to my boys at their request and they loved it. 5 stars from them. I’m not that enthusiastic myself, but I love a good read aloud experience so it gets some credit for that.

So cute and fun. Cruised through this one with my five year old and now we are sad the series is over.
