Kelsie Rae’s Crush is an emotionally charged, friends-to-lovers contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes Worlds project.

I signed up to be a surrogate because the dating pool is that shallow. Besides, my uterus might as well get used before it starts to grow cobwebs, right? Go figure that fate would screw with me as soon as I check in at my first doctor's appointment.

It's official. I've hit a new rock bottom.

Now I'm stuck drooling over my obstetrician, Dr. Benjamin Bennett. The wounded widower knows how to play my heartstrings like a seasoned violinist.

I thought I'd be stuck lusting from afar, but it seems luck is on my side when I find him on a dating app.

Dr. Bennett is looking for a friend with benefits, and I'm more than ready to jump his bones.

What I don't expect however, is the man beneath the good looks. The longer I'm around him, the more I start to wonder if he'd ever be interested in pursuing something real, or if I'd always be lost in his wife's shadow.

Kelsie is a sucker for a love story with all the feels. When she's not chasing words for her next book, you will probably find her reading or, more likely, hanging out with her husband and playing with her three kiddos who love to drive her crazy.

She adores photography, baking, her yorkie, Bob, and her devon rex, Mara. And now that she's actively pursuing her writing dreams, she's set her sights on someday finding the self-discipline to not binge-watch an entire series on Netflix in one sitting.

You guys! I am so excited about this author that I am bursting at the seams! I know I’ve only read less than a handful of her books so far, but her style makes me happy!!

This story was unique and fresh, full of emotion and chemistry with just the right amount of #feels and angst wrapped in a bit of humor here and there! Ben and Marcy were delightful characters that I easily saw myself befriending and bringing into my personal fold.

There’s not much more I can tell you without giving you plot points on the storyline, but I do want to say again how happy it made me to read this story. The circumstance/reason behind Marcy and Ben meeting is a thing of beauty. Who Marcy is as a person is a thing of beauty. The emotional rocky path that Ben is navigating is heartbreaking. This entire story was full to the brim with heart and hope and I highly recommend it!

There’s a current trend for popular authors to create worlds in which other authors can add to the universe they’ve created. Thus far, I’ve yet to read any of the original books in which these worlds have been created. Nevertheless, I’ve found some new authors through these books and such is how I stumbled upon Kelsie Rae. After enjoying Hired Hottie, the author’s addition to the Cocky Hero Club, I was eager to read the author’s addition to the Everyday Heroes World.

From the start, Crush sucked me in. I could not get enough of this one and devoured it in no time at all. I loved the characters, I adored their interactions, and I had so much fun with their storyline. There was plenty introduced to make it unique, telling a type of story I have not seen before. Due to this, I was not as put out by the cliché that usually annoys me in these types of stories.

With plenty of emotion packed in, this one ensures the reader feels everything that plays out. It’s a story that will have the reader smiling one moment, then on the edge of their seat when the story hits them in a different manner.

Without a doubt, my second Kelsie Rae has ensured I’ll be back for more.

Seriously, how unfair is it that Marcy's new obstetrician is so hot?! Now she has to be stuck drooling over the man who sees ALL of her, and she can't even do anything about it. Or can she? When he starts texting her on a dating app, things just might take a turn into something. If they can get past his baggage. His enormous baggage.

This one got to me a bit. Ben was so damaged inside. He was numb and not really living until the breath of fresh air that is Marcy came along and woke him up with her sunshine and huge heart. I loved her. She is absolutely my favorite part of this already wonderful friends to lovers story.

This was so so good. I fell hook, line and sinker for these two main characters.

Ben and Marcy are so completely different yet I was rooting for them to be together and find their happy ever after.

I thought this was a well written story and I was sad when it was finished. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

What a sweet and heartbreaking story!! I am not familiar with The Everyday Heroes World but I love Kelsie Rae, and this book was a perfect fit! It was fun, fast, emotional, and sexy!

Marcy decided to be a surrogate, she wanted to help out, but also couldn’t find anyone for herself. As fate would have it, she would meet her match at her first doctors appointment. Talk about awkward!

Ben wasn’t looking for more than a one night stand because he was still mourning the loss of his wife. But he knew something was different about Marcy but he couldn’t give her what she needed, or could he?

There were so many tears! I absolutely loved her tie in with Anthony and Sway!!! ❤️ (For those of you that haven’t read a lot from Kelsie, they are from her book Anthony which was book 7 of The Signature Sweethearts series) My Heart was very full after reading this book! Loved it!!

I haven't read all of K Bromberg's stories, but I definitely am enjoying the new Everyday Heroes World.
Marcy and Ben meet when he becomes her doctor after she becomes a surrogate for a couple. From the minute they met they had instant chemistry. After getting to know each other via a dating app they decide to be friends with benefits. But because of Ben's past it seems that he can't seem to let go of things between him and Marcy seems to be going down hill. Marcy though that she wouldn't find someone she could see herself spending her life with but she seems to be falling in love with the one man who wont let go of past.

I enjoyed this story of Ben and Marcy. I have to say that Marcy was very brave carrying a baby for another couple and very selfless. Ben was sweet and a little heart broken when they met, but when he started seeing that he couldn't live in the past forever he definitely came around. A sweet, insta-lust romantic story

This is hands down my favorite book from this author. The first half was a bit slow for me, but once the story really got going I was hooked!

So this book follows Marcy, who is a surrogate for the sweetest couple. She wants to be able to give someone a piece of happiness because she feels that she will never find her own. This woman is so incredibly selfless, sweet, strong and is just adorable! When she meets her new baby doctor, she is immediately thrown into a world of lust, second chances, redemption, and a love story of her own!

Ben is merely just surviving each day, but is in no way living. After a tragic accident that left him a widow, he isn't looking for anything other to scratch the occasional itch. His wife will always have his heart, and there's just nothing in him to give someone else.. or so he thinks. When he meets Marcy, he's immediately attracted to her, but there's something about her that just draws him in.

These two start a friends with benefits situation, but soon they realize they are so much more. I loved how they were the best part of each others day, and their connection just leapt off the page! But can they overcome all of their insecurities and fall head first into an all consuming love?

This was an amazing addition to the everyday heroes world! I definitely recommend this book!

Oh my goodness!
This story is absolutely amazing!
Marcy and Ben will pull at your heart strings both separately and together.
He’s barely living and she’s doing something to live more. Talk about opposites attracting! And speaking about attraction - it’s insta-lust when these two lay eyes on each other. You could feel the heat through the words on the book.

I am not familiar with the Everyday Heroes World... haven’t read any of the stories. But not an issue. Kelsie wrote the supporting characters very well and made me fall in love with them forcing me to want to read the other two main couple’s stories. Now I just need to figure out who wrote what.

Overall, I highly recommend you read this one. Great romance love story with a unique twist.

5 Star Review Crush by Kelsie Rae
Kelsie Rae is a relatively new author to me and I cannot understand why that is the case. From start to finish I was fully invested in this emotional, friends to lovers story of Ben and Marcy set in K Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes World.
Not only was their smoking hot chemistry within the pages but there was angst, romance and humour. I fell hard and fast for both Ben and Marcy and at times my heart broker for all that Ben had been through. There were times where I laughed, I cried and I swooned. The writing was strong and I was captivated by this heart warming story that Ms.Rae wove.
This book is a little gem and I recommend you one click, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

4.5-loved it stars!

I have already been a big fan of Kelsie Rae before learning she would be writing in The Everyday Heroes World by K. Bromberg. So when Crush hit my kindle, I was so excited to read it! This was an emotional friends to lovers romance with so many feels. Kelsie is known for her sweet and charming reads and this one is just that and so much more. Marcy was such a great character. Sweet and caring, she decides to become a surrogate to help a couple and to know what it feels like to be pregnant. What she never expected was Ben, her OBGYM and most amazing man ever. Nothing could ever happen between them, right? What follows is a story that will charm readers to no end. Crush by Kelsie Rae is a story about second chances, hope and moving on and one I highly recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is only my second time reading a novel by Kelsie Rae and I seem to fall more in love with her words with each book I read. It was super angsty and heartbreaking in some parts, but so beautiful and raw in others. I didn’t want to put it down and I definitely didn’t want it to end.

Marcy’s situation pulled on the heart strings and I was really rooting for her to have her happy ending. I must say, for such a broken man, Ben had me swooning. I cannot go into too much detail without giving away the plot, just that the storyline is something I don’t think I have ever read before. It was fun, new, refreshing and I absolutely loved it.

The secondary characters were a fantastic addition to this book, and it was great to catch up with Grady and Dylan. I’m a sucker for a happy ending and Kelsie delivered in bucket loads. I adored this book and I cannot wait to read future work of Kelsie’s.

"His mouth connects with mine like a puzzle piece clicking into place as he gently sucks my lower lip into his mouth before running his tongue along the seam of my lips."

5 Surrogate Stars!!! Unique and refreshingly fun!

Marcy has been unlucky in love and has decided that she wants to help a couple and be their surrogate and carry their baby for them. Meanwhile her BFF has set her up with a great OB/GYN for all her appt, and has warned her that he is hot, but Marcy sort of brushes it off. She regrets that the minute Dr. Ben walks into the office. Dr. Ben has his own personal trauma, he lost his wife years ago after a horrible car accident and he's been trying to deal with that and only hooks up with women, never anything serious, but the minute he meets Marcy, he feels a spark he hasn't felt since his wife. Nothing happens between these two until they start talking on a dating app, where things really take off, but with both of these two emotional relationship baggage can they really make it work?

I loved the unique storyline for this book! It was quirky and fun! And while it had it's emotional moments, there were times I definitely chuckled! This is the first book I've read by Kelsie, but it won't be the last!

DAMN. This man should definitely lose his license but other than that it was nice.

I struggled quite a bit with Marcy and Ben's relationship at times. Ben's definitely not over his late wife and it comes through a lot (like when he calls Marcy by his wife's name during sex 😭😭) and I wasn't really sure if I could root for them but they had a lot of honest conversations and in the end, they both had a good attitude toward his late wife and how to be able to still talk about and honor her without making Marcy the second place. I wish if this had been a bit longer, though, just to really get through these issues.

The reason I'm still rating this high, is that besides The Wife Issue, Marcy and Ben were SO cute and I loved every fluffy scene they had together. They both have issues letting other people help them which lead to such cute scenes. You know, forget about "a man should spoil his woman", let's just spoil each other 24/7.

The ending was so dramatic, like Grey's level drama, I really didn't expect it. As you can expect from medical romance, it was totally unethical (you're telling me there's no other doctor at that hospital who can treat her?? Like man's having a full on breakdown, don't let him do surgeries lmao) but! this isn't a medical journal and I don't really feel like I can criticise it too harshly — I did after all read the blurb. Still, maybe don't fuck your patients.

Overall, a really adorable romance that still touches on quite serious topics but manages to handle them gracefully and in the end is just a story of two lonely people coming together to create something beautiful ❤

Welcome to the world of K Bromberg’s everyday Hero’s. If you read the series with the Malone Brothers then get ready for some sneak peeks into their lives!

Crush is the first book I’ve read in this new exciting series of books by various authors who have teamed up with K. Bromberg.

Remember that photographer who took the amazing pictures of Grady in Combust, Marcy? Well this is her book and I absolutely loved every minute of it.

Marcy has given up on happily ever after for her and has decided to help another couple make their dreams come true. If you’ve read Kelsie Rae’s Signature Sweethearts series you should be familiar with Anthony and Sway! I love that this brings two incredible worlds together in one book.

This book is really emotional. There are a lot of hard moments but some really incredible moments as well. I loved all the characters and getting more of Dylan and Grady (they were my favorites) was awesome!

For someone who was writing a book in another authors “world”, it was really well done. I actually quite like this trend of expanded worlds of book series we all love. It opens readers up to authors they may have not read before.

I am so excited to read more books in the Everyday Heros series. I have a few more that I will be getting into!

Kelsie weaves a relatable, heartbreaking, second chance story that is full of hope, loss, forgiveness and forever love. Crush reminds us that life can change in a second, but there is beauty to be found in every tragedy or devastation we go through. It doesn’t define us, but it shapes who we are on this journey through life.
This couple has an undeniable connection that will make you giddy. Ben is sexy as sin. I mean you’ve seen those abs on the cover!!! Fire!!! Who doesn’t want to fall in love with the gorgeous, but broken baby doctor? Marcy is beautiful with a heart gold. She just wants to make someone’s dreams come true because she feels hers are no longer possible. This couple will drive you crazy as you root for them and pray they get past their insecurities and mistakes. You need to read this book for the dating app, the text messages, the photo calendar, Petunia, and the cranberry juice alone. Crush will tug on your heartstrings and have you hanging on every word!

I adore Crush. It is a perfect fusion of Kelsie Rae's work and the Everyday Heroes World. Oh Ben....You just want to eat him up, hold him tight. He is an amazing doctor that hasn't gotten over the death of his wife. Then there is Marcy, she is so selfless and has pretty much given up on relationships. She wants a baby to feel what pregnancy is like but doesn't want to be a single mom. So she becomes a surrogate to the sweetest hilarious couple. Just when she gives up hope bam Dr. Ben enters the picture. Boy you feel the sparks just fly from the very start. There is something about Ben and Marcy that you cannot help but to root for. I love how they take sometime to get to know each other and how their little start and stops just help build a stronger foundation for them. Marcy turns Bens world upside down and once you are finished reading this one you will have a smile on your face and a few tears in your eyes. I couldn't get enough of Ben and Marcy. I didn't want this one to end out all. The emotions and pull in this book is so strong that you will be sucked in until the very end.

Crush was such a different story from what I usually read; however, I couldn’t help but love Ben and Marcy. These two people are opposite, yet so perfect for each other.

Ben hasn’t been himself for years, he has just been going with the flow, but not truly living. He didn’t feel like he could enjoy life anymore. Marcy is living, she is doing something so selfless. They came into each other’s lives when they least expected it, but found they were just what they needed.
I loved their relationship. I loved the chemistry between them from the start. I loved their texting banter and the uniqueness of their relationship, which is what made this story stand out to me. There are so ups and downs to their relationship, however, it is truly beautiful.

This story is set in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes World, so it was fun to see some old favorites pop up and play a role as secondary characters in this story.

If you’re looking for a romance that has a little twist to it, then definitely pick up Crush!

5 magnificent stars!!! A very sweet romance book that will tug at your heartstrings. An absolute must read! Once I started it I found it extremely hard to put down. I read the whole thing in less than 24 hours.

Marcy is a beautiful woman and very talented photographer. Ben is a well respected (and drool worthy) OBGYN. Their paths cross when Marcy decides to become a surrogate. When Marcy finds Ben on a dating app things really start to take a fun twist. These two are absolutely adorable and I couldn't get enough of their texting banter.

The Everyday Heroes World was originally created by K. Bromberg. She then opened her world up to other authors to write stories of their own within it. I have not read any of the books in the original series and Crush is my first book in this series. I did not feel lost or confused one bit. I did however have my interest piqued by some of the side characters and I think I'd like to go check their books out as well.

This story is just Wow... I have read all of this authors books and she can write amazing heartfelt romance in a variety of tropes and pack in all the feels within every page.. Ok so about THIS book in particular Ben is broken from a horrendous tragedy, hes carrying so much baggage. Marcy is one of the best most sincere heroines I've read to date. To be so giving , to be willing to carry a child for perfect strangers is awe inspiring.. Surrogacy isnt something that's written about much but it should be, because it's a beautiful journey... You will wanna hug Ben and slap him all within a few pages, you will cry all the ugly tears .. You will pull for Ben to be able to move on and love Marcy the way she deserves. Not only for her but himself as well .... Its not easy to lose someone and move on, we all grieve differently.. But there comes a time when we have to open our hearts again, no matter how hard it may be. .. Ms Rae poured her heart into these pages and you can feel it in every word.... Also if you've read her Signature Sweetheart Series there is a surprise reappearance of a certain couple !!!!!!

Speaking as someone whose read almost all if not all of Kelsie’s books, I must say this might be my new favorite. It’s 100% in my top three. I loved Marcy and Ben, both have had rough goes at life. Ben’s story is tragic I can’t imagine what that must feel like. Marcy is so caring and funny she’s had some bad luck but instead of wallowing in it she does something to bless someone else. They’re banter is great and the chemistry they have is off the charts from the first meeting.

I haven’t read any of the other books in this world however after reading about Dylan I will be checking out Combust. One of my favorite parts was the Signature Series tie in. Seeing Anthony’s journey from his first appearance in Rhett to his own self titled book to now I loved watching this characters development and seeing glimpse of him in Crush was perfect!

Crush is part The Everyday Heroes World and it’s a wonderful addition to K.Bromberg’s world.
If you love second chance romance you certainly should be adding this book to your TBR list, it’s a story of loss, hope and forgiveness, it will make you laugh and make you swoon, you will also shed a few tears in a romance that will captivate you from the first page and there will no putting down until you have read the final line.
Ben and Marcy’s love story touched me on so many levels in fact this romance blew me away, I loved the characters and their insta-lust as well as the connection I found with this adorable couple. I read Crush in one sitting so please be prepared, make sure you have time to finish what you start.
So all that’s left for me to say is I highly recommend this gem of a read to all romance lovers.

There is nothing that Marcy would like more than to find a man to share her life with and have a family but so far it has been an epic fail. As a result she has decided on a different course of action and that is to become a surrogate to help out other but a doctor’s visit might just change everything.

Ben is still trying to heal from a devastating loss and never wants to feel that kind of pain and loss again. When he meets Marcy she raises emotions he hasn’t felt in a while but it when they connect on a dating app that the fun and flirtation begins.

The banter between them is witty, the chemistry is intense and although they definitely had their obstacles their emotional connection may not only help them overcome the past but look forward to a future with each other as well.

Crush is my first book by the author and I just really loved the story so very much.
Marcy is a surrogate, helping a couple who desperately want a child. Her genuine capacity for doing something so heartfelt is amazing and admirable. When she meets her doctor, little does she know how this will go. He’s gorgeous and possibly available?
This book was amazing. The storyline had my attention from the very start and the emotional moments took its toll. I may have shed some tears but I also laughed and cheered for the characters.
Ben is Marcys ob/gyn, whose recent loss is causing things difficult for him to move on. The struggles these two face as well as the meddling friends and family made this an unputdownable read.

Amazing!

So Grady and Dylan Malone appear in K Brombergs every day hero's series book Combust, Marcy is Dylan's best friend and also appears in the same book. Marcy has been given the chance of her own story thanks to Kelsie Rae and what a story it is.
Marcy is a happy go lucky kinda girl but has been unlucky in love, she decides that she's not getting any younger and wants to give a couple that can't have children that opportunity, she becomes a surrogate to a wonderful couple, Anthony and Sway.
Dylan provides Marcy with a recommended gyn who's name is Dr Ben Bennet. Oh boy he's hot! 🔥
He also has a traumatic story that will pull your heart stings.
I don't want to spoil this review with to much information but I will say that you don't have to know the Malones to enjoy this book or if you are already familiar with Kelsies previous characters, this is a standalone and I highly recommend it, Thank you Kelsie for giving Marcy her story.

Excellent through and through!

She may be writing in someone else’s world but the story still is Kelsie’s amazing sweet stories we all love.

I love these new characters we’ve been introduced to but it’s the past ones in this book that tie two worlds together.

Marcy is doing something incredibly selfless and is in need of a doctor. Enter Ben.

The insta-attraction is undeniable and the first appointment is funny.

I love the push and pull these two have. I also love the realness of the story. The feelings after a loss and how there is no one way of dealing with grief.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again Kelsie can write anything and I will read it. I guarantee I will love it!

I loved Marcy and Ben together in this love story. Two broken souls looking for fun, finding each other but each with so much baggage they bring into the relationship, you wonder how it can possible work out.

Marcy endears herself to me from the beginning, she’s basically most women, not aware of their own self worth and insecure. Ben’s baggage from losing his wife doesn’t help Marcy to trust him.

What starts as a small flirtation, then moves to friends, to FWB, also involves some heart break and distrust.

But the love only gets stronger and more authentic as both Marcy and Ben learn to trust in each other and their relationship.

Crush is standalone in the ‘Everyday Hero’ world, a story that ticked all the boxes.

Marcy is giving the best gift she could give someone, a family. When she comes face to face with Ben she never expect her OB to be so gorgeous and have such an instant attraction to. Ben has been making it through every day but when he meets Marcy everything starts to change.

The chemistry between these two are off the charts, the story will not only have you reaching for tissues but swooning with joy. I hadn’t read any other stories from this ‘world’ but I highly recommend getting on board with this one!

This book filled my heart with joy and at times my eyes with tears. Some parts where hard to read because my heart broke for Ben. He was so sorting and I lobe that for the most part it was a lightish book. Mercy was so selfless and in a lead heroine, I loved that so much. That girl deserved the world and I love that Ben gave it to her. There were hard parts to the book when it came to be a past. The author did a great job with it though. The writing was awesome, and the banter with the characters was just as great. I do plan to go and read the books that inspired this world at some point and now more then ever because I fell hard for some of the secondary characters. 4 stars #2OCCJD

I want to say Kelsie Rae caught me by surprise but since this book is the second book of her I read, I would say not surprise at all. I enjoy reading her books. Crush is so brilliant. It is well written and the story has everything I want to read... angst-y with Ben's past, sexy when they are together and a bit funny when they banter. Ben is so swoon-worthy and he deserves a second chance in love. And I agree with Ben that Marcy is a saint. She deserves to be loved and has a HEA life. So I am so glad that they found each other. It is one of the best medical second chance friends to lovers romance I've ever read!
