Reggie, Lauryn, and Nadia are a “throuple,” three people involved in a romantic relationship. Too handsome for his own good, Reggie has always enjoyed the attention of women. He believes that a plural marriage is the black man’s birthright and although he’s pleased with the polygamous arrangement, Lauryn and Nadia are in constant conflict. Lauryn considers Reggie to be her dream man, but the dream is slowly becoming a waking nightmare. Secretly battling depression and anxiety, Lauryn is having a hard time coping with the lifestyle. She convinces herself that her continual unhappiness and debilitating anxiety will magically go away if only she can get rid of Nadia. When Reggie rescues Nadia from an abusive boyfriend she falls hard for him and considers him her hero. Out of a sense of gratitude she embraces polygamy and tries hard to get along with Lauryn, no matter the cost to her self-respect. It’s bad enough that the co-wives have to share Reggie, but what else will he ask them to share? How far will the two women push their personal boundaries before they blur the lines of sexual freedom and human decency for the love of a man?
Don't you ever stop writing, you hear me? I love your works and you're truly amazing. First book of 2020!! Thanks again Ms. Hobbs for allowing us to read your stories and continuing to entertain us!
***Amazing story. I truly love all of Allison's books, you'd be doing yourself a huge favor by starting with Stealing Candy......
I am a long-time Allison Hobbs fan, from way back. This book for me was a short, quick read. (I devour books,so I read it in one day.) It was filled with drama, (I didn't know which character I wanted to smack the most, it kept alternating.) The character I rooted for the most was Nadia, I really empathized with her. Although this book had some typos and a couple small grammar issues, they didn't really detract in a major way from the story. The plot twists were good, (especially loved the one with Reggie at the dinner table towards the end of the book.) It's sexy, full of drama, relatable characters, (we all know someone like Lauryn, Nadia, and funky ol' Reggie - can you tell I don't like him? LOL)
I would recommend this book to anyone (age-appropriate of course).
Reggie, Lauryn and Nadia are in a polyamorous relationship, that seems to only benefit Reggie. His narcissistic personality is becoming more evident every day, which leads to one wife seeking refuge and the other seeking acceptance. It all comes to a head, when even more is expected of them.
Kudos to @allisonhobbsbestsellingauthor for shedding light on a lifestyle that has been around forever, but is now coming to the forefront. If you’ve ever watched Seeking Sister Wife, it’s giving me Ashley and Dmitri vibes, or better yet…the newest AA couple.
Unfortunately, I can only give this stellar book 💎💎💎💎…due to minor errors. Go get this book!
This was an interesting read. I hated Lauren's character. She was a whole fool for a man that treated her and her son like trash. Reggie stick must have been dipped in gold. That didn't make sense! I really wasn't rooting for anyone ,but Nadia slowly and I adored the ending. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because I really wanted Reggie to have more of a voice. How the hell did he think this was going to work? His background ? ,but oh I'm so glad he got what he deserved. Great read!!
Well! What a tale! Lots of surprises, twists and laughs! I can’t imagine this style of living but to each his own. This read had a lot of drama with lively and unique characters to pull it all off. Looking for a few cameo appearances in the future! Thanks for the entertainment Allison!
I couldn’t get into this book, and polyamory is my preferred genre to read. I think the narcissist conspiracy theorist did it for me in the beginning, which made me not wanna finish. There are just too many other stories with those same elements and I feel like I’m reading the same thing over and over. Moral of the story, 99% of poly relationships fail.
This intense story follows the lives of a polygamist family. I devoured each page waiting to read how each character deals with this non traditional lifestyle! I was not disappointed and I now have the taste for some seafood lasagna!
This story is so captivating. I hated Reginald. Lauryn really had issues. The only and person was Nadia. Allison Hobbs kept the pace moving with energy, desperation, greed, narcissism, and so much more. Thank you Ms. Hobbs for an entertaining read.
I’ve been reading Allison Hobbs for over 10 years now and this one, just like many others did not disappoint! That was definitely not the ending i imagined! Great writing from start to finish!
I haven't read an Allison Hobbs book in a while. This was definitely a change from what I remember. I was so happy Nadia ending up winning in the end. She deserved her happy ending after all she endured.
Awesome read, I was ready to do something to Reggie myself. He got what he deserved. I hate those ladies were blinded by the need of love and affection.
This book was interesting but not the ending I expected. This throuple gone wrong for many reasons you have a character who is borderline psychotic, a character who is young and doesn't know any better. Great read please check it out.
