A case of mistaken identity? Not at all.

A vicious alien race has a secret weapon to use against humanity:

Roy DeHaas.

Turns out to be quite the surprise to Roy.

Roy finds himself on the run. Chased by every race in the galaxy. Including his own.

Somehow he’s started a war. Waves of alien battle cruisers are bearing down on Earth.

The two most powerful people in the galaxy could stop them.

They won’t.

Instead, they dump humanity’s fate on Roy.

Now he has to play cat and mouse with a fiendishly clever alien who thirsts for vengeance against humanity.

Roy’s in way over his head. Nothing new there.

But this time the entire human race depends of his finding a way out of this mess.

He’ll never give up. But persistence might not be enough this time.

Can he pull everyone together in time?

An epic chapter in the Star Ascension series.

Fearless, globe spanning adventurer.

Tireless, Nobel Prize winning peace advocate.

Stunningly handsome master of disco dancing.

Jeremy Michelson is none of these things.

Not even close.

Really, he considers it a fantastic day when he finds a ripe avocado at the supermarket.

Mmmm…guacamole.

In a previous career, Jeremy Michelson worked at a small town weekly newspaper. It was his privilege to report on the odd, the unusual, and the occasionally terrifying aspects of life in a rural area.

These days Jeremy lives in a much larger city in the Pacific Northwest. In his spare time he enjoys hiking (the Pacific Northwest has an abundance of beautiful places to hike) and taking photos of nature.

Waterfalls, snowcapped mountains, and trees feature prominently in his photos. Flowers, birds, and criminally adorable chipmunks are also favorite subjects.

Jeremy is the author of the Star Ascension science fiction series, a star spanning tale of humankind’s very bumpy journey from Earth to becoming members of a galactic community of alien races.

He also writes the New Bedlam / Unseen World adventures. An contemporary fantasy collection of novels and stories about a familiar world changed by cataclysm, bordered by a hidden world filled with powerful and unsettling creatures.

Well…he writes these tales when one of the family’s cats aren’t taking a nap on his keyboard.
Come on, cat, I got words to wr–

could not help it this time…

I have enjoyed all of the books in this series so far but have, mostly out of pure ornery stubbornness, withheld a full five star rating just for the continued use of the word “soldier” being applied to and used by Marines. As a ten year veteran and staff sergeant, I have to point out…We have NEVER, and will never accept this misnomer as a form of address! Please stop. Everything else in your writing is beyond reproach. Cheers.

I started to read this book last summer when I had read all the rest of the books in the series. As they progressed each book got heavier and heavier into scifi. I really enjoyed the first books in the series but this one just .....well.....I didn't finish it.
