In a previous career, Jeremy Michelson worked at a small town weekly newspaper. It was his privilege to report on the odd, the unusual, and the occasionally terrifying aspects of life in a rural area.
These days Jeremy lives in a much larger city in the Pacific Northwest. In his spare time he enjoys hiking (the Pacific Northwest has an abundance of beautiful places to hike) and taking photos of nature.
Waterfalls, snowcapped mountains, and trees feature prominently in his photos. Flowers, birds, and criminally adorable chipmunks are also favorite subjects.
Jeremy is the author of the Star Ascension science fiction series, a star spanning tale of humankind’s very bumpy journey from Earth to becoming members of a galactic community of alien races.
He also writes the New Bedlam / Unseen World adventures. An contemporary fantasy collection of novels and stories about a familiar world changed by cataclysm, bordered by a hidden world filled with powerful and unsettling creatures.

I have enjoyed all of the books in this series so far but have, mostly out of pure ornery stubbornness, withheld a full five star rating just for the continued use of the word “soldier” being applied to and used by Marines. As a ten year veteran and staff sergeant, I have to point out…We have NEVER, and will never accept this misnomer as a form of address! Please stop. Everything else in your writing is beyond reproach. Cheers.
I started to read this book last summer when I had read all the rest of the books in the series. As they progressed each book got heavier and heavier into scifi. I really enjoyed the first books in the series but this one just .....well.....I didn't finish it.
