Book 2 in the series
The Chronicles of Royal High by R. Litfin Look for book 1 - The Lost Noble ~~~~~ The teenage royalty in the magical world of Edenarth must answer the call to become Paladins, warriors of light, to fight back the invading dragons, all while still attending the nobility finishing school, Royal High— as if the life of a teen was not hard enough. ~ Synopsis ~ In the world of Edenarth, faerie technology has advanced the realms immeasurably. Crystal ball communications, magic mirror displays, and portaling for fast travels are just some of the things that the Clans of Fey have engineered for human consumption—at the right price, of course. Politically, countless kingdoms and realms vie for power and prestige. It is a world filled with terrifying dragons, fearsome trolls, clueless humans, eccentric alchemists, syndicates and pirates, mysterious mermaids, faeries and their magic. ~~~~~ Adella Everheart has been found to be The Lost Princess, a legacy she previously had no knowledge of due to her father’s banishment for marrying outside of the royal bloodlines. With this revelation, Adella is reluctantly whisked away from her unassuming peasant life in the realm of Kelemer, and enrolled in the nobility finishing school Royal High—all so she can become queen of the neighboring ocean kingdom of Adamaris in three years’ time. Once at Royal High, Adella finds herself navigating a new group of noble-born friends as she attends her brand new classes, all while accidentally joining the school’s combat team and winning the tournament for Royal High. But a dragon has been haunting Adella from the moment she set foot in the opulent halls of the castle institution, and in the fall-out from the beast’s fiery attack on Adella and her friends at the Nether Dusk Faire, Adella finds that her terrifying dreams have grown too-vivid and real for comfort, often warning her of things in her waking life. When Adella finally unravels the secrets behind The Order of the Paladin—warriors of light who are charged with the protection of Edenarth from a darkness as old as the world—she quickly finds that things at Royal High were never as they seemed. And when someone at Royal High is suddenly found to be in great, mortal peril, Adella Everheart summons the courage to lead her friends into a battle that none of them ever saw coming. ~~~~~ With a foreign crown she has begun to embrace, and alliances she must honor, Adella Everheart finds herself in a race against time to save her friends at Royal High from an ancient, fiery evil. If vengeance is a dish best served cold, then why is the wrath of a Dragon so hot?

Having been born into a family of nerds from a slice of The Shire in Northern California, Rachel Litfin cultivated a love of all things fantasy from a very young age. Inspired by dressing up with her family at renaissance faires, to losing herself in Tolkien, to playing World of Warcraft into the wee hours of the morning, Rachel created the very beginnings of The Chronicles of Royal High in her freshman English class. You can find her today in the realm of Southern California, often adventuring her way through Disneyland, reading by firelight, swimming in the ocean like a mermaid, and, of course, writing about the many stories that exist within Edenarth.

R. Litfin has a way of writing her stories, Dragon's Wrath was a wonderful read. If you like adventure and magical creatures then this is the book for you. You will find yourself reading a tale of good vs. evil with characters that are likable and relatable. Dragon's Wrath definitely ties into the end of The Lost Noble, (Litfin's first book). Also hinting at a third book, (hopefully!). I have my fingers crossed for a third installment because I did enjoy this series.

Litfin truly comes into her own as an author in this daring tale of good versus evil and darkness versus light. Loveable and relatable characters, fantastical settings, magical creatures, and action-packed scenes make this book a very entertaining read. Dragon’s Wrath ties up many loose ends from The Lost Noble, while also setting itself up for a third installment!

Excellent continuation of the story. I found it hard to put down and read it cover to cover in about 12 hours with breaks. Im glad theres more story. I want to see the cast actually use their new strengths in a harder fight.

The pacing is excellent. It rolls from topic to topic with ease, which kept me reading. I love the "friendship over boys" bond that happened between characters.

Dragon’s Wrath follows immediately out of Lost Noble and builds on it in every way. It pushes the darker moments, hits more comedic notes, develops the world’s epic lore, takes the action to great heights, and gives us characters to love. It’s more than a worthy sequel—it’s a massively elevating one that establishes the fantasy series’ roots and spreads its branches at the same time.

I picked this book up at Gen Con 2024. I read the first book right away and then didn't get to this one until this year, however, I thought it was phenomenal. I am so glad I found these books. I love the world and all the amazing characters. Really fantastic. I can't wait to get to the novella I picked up at Gen Con this year!

Somehow, this book was even better than the first one (which I didn’t know could be possible!)!! The characters come to life and off the page! No matter how many times I read this book, I always love it as much as the first time, and there’s always new things to notice and new connections to make!!! Def recommend!!!

Another great hit by R. Litfin! I am once again again awed, fascinated, and intrigued by the wonderful world building. Adella Everheart's story does not disappoint, and I can not wait to see what happens in book 3. Bravo!

Definitely would recommend!

Wow. This storyline is amazing. The ending held me tight as did the rest of the book. It was the perfect ending too. A happy ending.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone not sure if they want to read it.

It is certainly YA. The endless descriptions of gorgeous gowns got rather tedious. I am quite fond of the teacher Bracke and his Fae associate, Lenroe. Vivienne became somewhat tiresome.
A decent distraction while dealing with hospitalized spouse.

Update: Sure it is better than the first book but it is still less than mediocre. The same story could have been told in 100 pages. Whiny character, predictable story. I like A Court of Thorne and Rose's better. The author also takes way to long to produce the new books and I forget what took place in the previous book.

"Dragon's Wrath", the second installment in Rachel's series, picks up right where "The Lost Noble" left off, and it doesn't disappoint. Rachel's passion for her characters is palpable, and it shines through in her writing, creating a vivid and expressive story that is impossible to put down. The world-building is exceptional, and I was fully immersed in the richly imagined world of the book from start to finish.

What I loved most about "Dragon's Wrath" was the way in which Rachel further developed the characters we met in the first book, adding layers of complexity and depth to their personalities. The plot was thrilling and full of unexpected twists and turns, and I found myself on the edge of my seat throughout the book.

As a reader, I am eagerly anticipating the release of the third book in the series. While I am excited to see what happens next, I know that Rachel will take the time to ensure that the story she tells is just as amazing as the first two books. I highly recommend "Dragon's Wrath" to anyone who enjoys epic fantasy novels with richly drawn characters and an immersive, fully realized world.
