Never poke a sleeping warrior... or he might poke back. Three long-time friends have secrets and one outrageous problem. Nick's X-fiancee goes on a rampage of teaching him a lesson for his little rules of don't do's she has dealt with. Her idea of getting even affects each of them since Livy, who is like a sister to Nick, is also targeted. For Noah, the secret of his romantic interest in Livy goes haywire as the threat to her makes his protective instincts rise up. A dangerous thing since he's a full blooded Apache Indian with knowledge of the old-ways of getting even. While Noah has hidden his feelings from Livy, she has dreamed of the possibility of them coming together as more than friends. When his protective side takes over, she's determined to push a few of his buttons to see if he responds. In his opinion, Apache braves take what they want when it's offered. He definitely believes in a whirlwind romance. As her protector, those who targeted her should have stopped harassing her. He's already making plans to teach them a lesson they will never forget.
Sue A. Hart believes that romance is only part of the story. Thus she says, 'It's more than romance, it's an escape for the reader.' Family plays a part in the lives of most people, whether you want to conk them over the head or give them a hug. No one has a perfect family, therefore she believes a book should reveal this as well. Her books are character driven with adventure and dangerous threats keeping a reader's interest. The women are brave, sensible, with extraordinary abilities. They also have strong men who love them.
I usually only read Romance when it's blended with another genre, but I'd read other books by this author so picked this one up as well. I wasn't disappointed. In the span of a few hours, I became quite attached to the protagonists: Nick, Livy, and Noah. Nick breaks up with his girlfriend but doesn't expect her and her friends to trash his property, causing thousands of dollars of damage. This stirs up a bunch of action, including a love story between his two friends, who'd secretly been attracted to each other for years. Funny, lighthearted story.
