2020 bk 349. My new second favorite book of the series. Eden is in her new quarters - but needs that perfect piece of artwork. Invited to a gallery viewing, Eden finds her artwork and enjoys meeting the artist. A supernatural, Nari works with magical paints to create images that almost seem alive. A cousin, much demonized because of her ability to gift people with bad images, returns home, seemingly reformed. Helena's true mission is kept to her self until near the end when she realizes that is might impact on the disappearance of Nari. Well plotted and the writing/editing has improved. Enjoyable book.

I love this series by Annabel Chase. I think I love all of her series and she has several. Unfortunately it takes much longer to write, proof read, edit, and publish a book than it does to read it, so I often find myself groaning at the expected release date of the next book in a series. I don't know how many she has planned, but I do hope this one continues for a good long while.

About this book, it's a comedy involving supernaturals living in a town named Chipping Cheddar. Chief Fox is human and hot and has a thing for our MC. She's a Fury who doesn't really want to be one. Her maternal relatives are witches who use dark magic and her father and brother are vengeance demons. Her stepmother is a vampire with OCD tendencies. She has to hide her relationship with Chief Fox (Sawyer) because he's human and her family will interfere. The last time she was involved with a human her family cast a spell making him cheat on her. She doesn't want that to happen with Chief Fox.

The other part of the story involves a missing artist and the hunt to find her or what happened to her. A very good story that kept me entertained for several hours. I highly recommend all the books in this series,

I really liked this book. I loved that a demon wasn't the cause of things, that got old fast. The thing that kept me from giving this a 5-star rating is her family. They had too big of a role in this book, more than a couple of sentences of them is too big.

The weak, timid, cowering Eden is back (where her awful family is concerned). What happened to the Eden in the last book? The one who was starting to stand up to her hateful family? I liked her. I thought we were finally seeing some growth in this character. Clearly, I was mistaken.

(I did like how she handled her mother, more of that!)

I hate her family. I find nothing to like about them. There is nothing enjoyable about reading how parents and a grandmother emotionally abuse their child while everybody else laughs. That's psychotic. I had to skip through most of the first two chapters to get past them.

Yes, she is an adult and I want her to act like one. MOVE AWAY FROM THEM! I would like the story more if she would just cut them out of her life.

"Ugly man hands"....wth with that crap? ENOUGH!

The plot for this book was interesting. I thought the whole thing was creative.

I loved Helena. I wasn't sure about her in the beginning but now I want to see books about her. The bonus would be that she doesn't live in the same town so there would be no interactions with Eden's mom, dad, and grandmother.

3.5 ⭐

Loved this one! ❤️

Don’t let the title fool you! Not that I have anything against a “Cozy Mystery Series”, but I thought this would one of those “good vibes and silly” books that was all warm and fuzzy! Not the case here, since this series has a certain “edge”. Each book has a new mystery that gets solved by the end of each book. The FMC Eden is a hoot! She is super likable, sarcastic and the star of this series. Eden gets transferred back home against her wishes to be an agent for the Federal Magical Bureau. Now she has to embrace her magic, which is something she was always reluctant to do, embrace living once again with her whacky family, who she so desperately wanted to leave behind and get reacquainted with the people of the town where she grew up. I was really pleasantly surprised by this series. What I liked most is the barely there “dark undertones” that make it that much more interesting. I have read plenty of Annabel Chase’s books. Some I liked better than others, but this one is turning out to be a real joy to read. There is a progression to this series, especially Eden who is slowly but surely learning to embrace who she really is. Highly Recommended ❤️❤️❤️ PS. I would also recommend you read “ The Crossroads Queen Series by Annabel Chase” - One of the best series out there!

As always an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series

Entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and a fun and entertaining storyline. Eden fury is a special agent. She left her family‘s hometown to work with the FBI on the West Coast. Then her powers flared up and she was found out to be a supernatural. She has transferred to the Federal Bureau of magic sent back home to her hometown where she grew up trying to be different than her family. Her family tends to live on the Darkside. She always tries to stay on the light side of magic. She is the local agent in charge of the federal Bureau of magic office. Humans see her and her office as a cyber crimes FBI office. When they look at her badge they see FBI. When supernaturals see it they see Federal Bureau of magic. Follow along as she solves any crimes in town that have any supernatural twist to them. Along with a local sheriff who deals with the Mundane human crimes. A very entertaining and intriguing story. Oh and you better watch out for her grandma she is a bit out there. Also her dog is a hell hound.

Eden has finally moved into her renovated barn and it needs something for a main wall. Following the advice of friends, she goes to an art gallery and finds the perfect painting. Then when she goes back to pay for it the next day, the artist has disappeared.
Working with Chief Fox, her secret love, they are asking questions all over town with no luck. Adding to Eden’s stress is the visit of her cousin Helena, a temporal demon who has history in the town of powers going wild.
She also has to deal with Sassy’s discovery that Tanner is cheating on her. This brings back the memories of the spell put on Tanner when they were in high school, making Eden worry more about her family finding out about Fox.
This book has a nice mystery; I was actually quite surprised with it. There are also the interesting characters, their interactions and lots of humour. Eden’s family is scarily funny; it’s no wonder she doesn’t really want to deal with them.
A fun, quick, easy read.

A missing Kitsune

Eden has finally moved into the refurbished barn an I enjoying furnishing her new home, putting her own stamp on it, but she keeps being told it lacks something, a picture on the wall. Hence a visit to the towns art gallery where she falls in love with one of the paintings, Niri, the artist is also the owner of the gallery and is pleased to see Eden buy the painting, when Eden goes to pay for it next day she finds Niri gone with the studio left open and spilled paint on the floor. Fearing trouble Eden calls Chief Fox and the two begin to search for Niri, who is nowhere to be found. Another good instalment in the Fury saga, I especially like the family dynamics between Eden, her mother, grandmother and all the others, crazy fun but you are glad they are not your relatives.

A visitor, a painting and..

.. a missing artist. Eden's cousin Helena visits Chipping Cheddar. As a temporal demon, Helena found it hard to control her powers growing up so she's not exactly welcomed with open arms. She goes with Eden to an open evening at Nari's gallery and when the artist goes missing the next day fingers are pointed.

Eden is sure the missing artist has nothing to do with Helena and when Agent Redmond reappears on Helena's tail Eden stands up for her. But is it wishful thinking or is Helena really involved in the mystery? Can they trace the missing artist and solve the spate of crimes across the country at the same time? Will Agent Redmond break Clara's heart and can Eden keep her secret relationship from her family?

Better as a move away from the "people are acting weird" storylines that have overpowered the series.

Loved!

When Eden's cousin, Helena, comes for a visit the town braces themselves for accidents. Helena is a demon who can make people hallucinate, In her younger years she sometimes leaving them in a coma. That was before she was able to control her emotions.

When Eden and Helena attend an art gallery show, the artist, Nari, disappears the next day. Eden and Chief Fox search for her over the next few days without any clues. It turns out that Nari was using some magic infused paint and she ended up in her latest painting.

Now Eden and Helena have to jump into the painting to get her out.

Chief Fox tells Eden he's in la be with her, making Eden tell him her feelings as well. In turn, she tells him the truth about her evil family. But he's not scared off, he's hopelessly in love with her.

So good!

Eden is such a good-hearted, loyal person; it seems a shame that she's burdened with unwanted Fury power. I appreciate that she's being allowed to develop some backbone, also; in spite of her mostly worthless family, she has some worthwhile folks in her corner. Sawyer, Neville, Clara, the Leroux family are wonderful characters, and it looks like Verity is finally fed up with family foolishness, too; even Sassy has promise! The recurring theme throughout this story highlights that perception affects reality and adds an unexpected depth for a paranormal cozy; it also helps save the day in the climax! This series is for lovers of the genre who can appreciate a well-written and truly heroic female lead.

4 stars.

Same plot style/format as the prior books (which I like and appreciate) but these 2 latest narrators are throwing me off. And the dialogue between Eden and Sawyer is too 1 dimensional. Mind you, they don't need drama and angst to be entertaining but there's definitely a layer of complexity missing in their relationship. Maybe more quality time doing more non-work related activities is needed so we can get to know different aspects of each of them. Or maybe more thoughtful conversations is needed. Or maybe more narrative from Eden, about how being with the Chief has helped her be better, is needed. I don't know exactly what it is, but something is is missing that would make the relationship more convincing to me.

I decided to end my journey with this series here.

Every Picture Tells a Fury is Book 8 in the Federal Bureau of Magic Series. I absolutely love this series.
Eden is back and finally moved into the remodeled barn, living her best fury life. Her cousin is in town and her family is evil as ever. Eden goes to purchase a painting for her new home and the next day the artist goes missing! I love the relationship between Eden and Chief Fox. It was also nice to see Eden and Sassy get a little closer. The mystery was fantastic and this book has all the wonderful elements that i LOVE about Annabel Chase's books.

Cannot wait for the next book in the series!!!

So this time around we meet Eden’s cousin Helena who is a temporal demon Basically it someone who can make you hallucinate.
Along with us she find the perfect painting by this artist Nari who is kitsune And this lady ends up going missing so of course Eden is trying to figure out what’s going on.
Then you have sassy and Tanner breaking up because Surprise he’s been cheating which honestly isn’t surprising so of course Eden is trying to comfort her.
And that is basically where the adventure of the story goes we’re trying to find Nari comfort sassy and hang out with our cousin Helena. Along with still keeping Chief fox a secret from her family

In plain site

Everyone was looking high and low, questioning everyone in sight and the missing artist was right in front of them all the time. This was an upbeat tale for a lot of people. The artist disappeared by accident not foul play. Eden and the Chief finally declared their feelings for each other. Helen finally proved she'd mastered her powers & was a kind person by helping Marcie who was in the same boat Helen once was. Eden's best friend & the vampire agent she cares for have admitted they care & he is changing his work schedule so they can spend more time together.

Loved this book

This entire series is a bit different but that makes it all the more interesting to read. The characters are creatively written with extremes of good to evil. Even Eden's mother who is narcissistic is relatable as the quintessential annoying mother-in-law. This is the only series I've read that family members kill each other and it's humorous though they always resurrect each other because they do care deep, deep, down. This book was especially good for Eden's love life.

Life is but a dream

Agent Fury is back, with her on so good looking human Sheriff Fox. Her barn is finished and is now ready for furniture and a few paintings. Life is better with art. An artist disappears, a cousin with a troubled past comes to town. Sassy breaks up with her boyfriend. Fury and Fox go deeper, feelings. Agent Fury 's family is still nuts. Love the bookcase scene. Everything Annabel Chase writes is wonderful. Brilliant writer, fluid in your description, and the reason your characters move as they do. Read and enjoy!

So Eden is now tasked with decorating her new place the barn she needs a nice artwork and ends up finding an amazing painter and purchases her work. She goes to pay for it but the machines are down she comes back later in the day and this artist now disappeared. Now Eden is trying to find out what happened to the artist.
We also get to meet a new family member a cousin who seems to always get in trouble and the town never has much nice things to say about her. This cousin basically is a demon who can cause hallucinations. And sassy is Trying to get over her break up with Tanner.

loving it

I really am loving it! Each case of Eden’s gets a little trickier and a little more complicated. Speaking of complicated, I adore chief foxy!!! And finally things are heading in the right direction for him and Eden. And I KNOW why she’s so adamant about keeping their relationship a secret from her family. But I feel it. It’s gunna explode and back fire. Her mother and grandmother are nuts. I liked Helena. He dad makes me roll my eyes, I really like her step mom and her brother cracks me up. But until then, I’m going to keep on loving it!!!

Lost!

Another hit for Annabel.
Eden is finally in her new home and everything is looking good. The only thing miss on her walls is a painting. She attends an art opening and finds a painting that calls to her. When she goes back to pay for it the artist is gone.
On the home front, a cousin comes to town and another agent also comes back to town. Why are they there? How does that help in finding a lost painter

Unique story

Eden is finally beginning to embrace her love for Sawyer, who I feel sure will also help her believe that her dedication to goodness will allow her to embrace herself as an Erinye. I am so curious as to why her parents, a black magic witch and a vengeance demon, would have chosen "Eden Joy" as her name. Could it be that her innate goodness was so powerful that even they could only choose a name full of the power of good?

Woozer

This story is very creative and moves the relationships along, as it goes with some of the characters in the series and new ones introduced. Love that the mystery was truly one and was very creative in it’s development and solution.

Eden has to really work with Neville and family to think outside the box, and deal with a family confrontation.

As always, you have the good, the bad and the ugly, and plenty of entertainment.

This series is great “filler” or what I call bubblegum reading when I just need a silly read that’s entertaining and quick between longer and more thought provoking reads. Chase has several good cozy paranormal series that serve this purpose well!
