Vampires and shifter's have always lived in harmony.
That is, until a few vampire’s join together in the hope that if they can get rid of the shifter's, they can rule the world. The other vampires are trying to tame them, but it’s now up to Jaxon and his pack to make sure the vampires are taken out for good. They think they are stronger than he is, but they are about to find out just how much they are mistaken.
When they attack his newly found mate, there is hell to pay and Jaxon won't stop until the rogue vampires are dust.
M.J. Perry is a mother of two, and wife to her very own prince charming. Her favourite things include coffee, chocolate, pizza, and anything Disney. She's an avid reader of romance books and a sucker for a happy ending, which is the reason why she started writing her own stories.
Too short, the story lacks development! The MC are flat, without character! Its all so "meant to be" and magical! There's a big cliffhanger to make us buy the next book...
A captivating paranormal shifter storyline. Good chemistry with the characters. Well written book, I liked reading it. It was a pleasured to read and review it.
This begins with Jaxon and Sierra story. After his father died Jaxon became Alpha of the pack. His best friend and second in command is Gabe. Even after becoming Alpha Jaxon still runs in the morning then stops for breakfast. Today after running he decided to go to a different diner for his breakfast. Opening the door he smelled something wonderful and his wolf was howling. Then he spotted her, the waitress is his mate. Sierra felt it too when she met him and their eyes locked on each other, but she is very shy and virginal. Later that day a man comes in the diner and becomes very sexually aggressive toward her. So she hides in the kitchen and her boss tried to get him to leave. Then she leaves by the back door and is attacked and nearly raped by two vampires and luckily Jaxon makes it in time to save her. That the beginning of their very romantic and sexy relationship. There is a cliffhanger when Sierra's best friend Milly is kidnapped and even though he won't face it she is Deacon's mate. So the remainder of the story will continue with Deacon's story in book 2.

It's a novella, so I won’t harp too much on the pacing. That said, the storyline clearly would’ve worked better as a full-length novel - trying to cram it into a short format made it feel rushed and, at times, borderline unpleasant to follow.
The biggest issue, however, is the grammar. Forget the typos for a moment - the punctuation was genuinely painful. The author seems to have no idea when to end a sentence, instead stringing thoughts together with endless commas and semicolons. Ironically, in places where punctuation was necessary, it was completely missing. That’s just one example - overall, the grammar was poor across the board.
We’re given entire blocks of text filled with awkward monologues, random scene skips, repeated information, and irrelevant details. I’m rushing through this review because, frankly, I’m annoyed that my time was wasted and don’t feel like breaking down every flaw.
Controversial take, but I’m going to say it anyway: language-wise, AI would’ve done better - so at least I don’t suspect this was written by one.
a short, sweet love story, or two - and the beginnings of a war between a certain group of vampires and a local werewolf pack.
Jaxson and Sierra meet and mate, very abruptly.
Turns out, on of his best friends is linked to Milly, a close friend of his new mate Sierra.
when the rogue vampires accidentally snatch Milly instead of Sierra, they have picked a fight not only with their pack, but with the hybrid shifter/vamp mate of the gal they took in error.
More dating and deadly action ahead!

Think of it as a prequel and you'll be fine. Shifter Jaxon finds his human Mate and, shortly afterwards, rescues her from a fate worse than death at the hands of rogue vampires. It turns out that they are the advance party from a group of vampires who intend to destroy his pack. "Jaxon" doesn't make a lot of sense most of the time but it compensates by delivering a fast moving story full of action and sex. It's a short book which really does very little but deliver the plot for the second book "Deacon". 2.5 Stars rounded up to 3 Stars because it showed potential.
A steamy paranormal romance. This is what I call a quick and easy to read story. Jaxon is the alpha of the strongest and largest pack in the area. When his newly found mate Sierra is attacked by vampires, he kills them. So the vampires retaliate by abducting Sierra's bff Milly by mistake. A very exciting storyline that does end in a cliffhanger.

Jaxon (Small Town Pack) by M.J. Perry is a wonderful story to read. This is a wonderful start to a brand new series that I have fallen so in love with. It has two of my favorite genre to read about and that is vampires and shifters. I can not wait to read the next book in the series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves to read about vampires and shifters.

I have read a lot of novellas and short stories. Some are done really well with the shorter length and some you’re glad you didn’t have to spend hours reading to finish. Unfortunately for me this book fell to the latter.
I got sucked in with the first page fast paced as the real dilemma as the characters journey through their relationship and detail provided to wet the reader interest.
