About the books in this bundle:
The Grand Sophy: When Sophy sweeps in, life will never be the same for the Ombersleys. Sophy discovers that her aunt's family is in desperate need of her talent for setting everything right: Cecelia is in love with a poet, Charles has tyrannical tendencies that are being aggravated by his grim fiancee, her uncle is of no use at all, and the younger children are in desperate need of some fun and freedom. By the time she's done, Sophy has commandeered Charles's horses, his household-and maybe even his heart.
Arabella: Arabella never would have pretended to be rich if that odious Robert Beaumaris hadn't insulted her, practically to her face. Now she has to keep up the subterfuge, even when it gets her into more trouble than she bargained for. How is she ever going to tell Robert the truth? Or does he already know her shocking secret?
Frederica: The lovely, competent, and refreshingly straightforward Frederica is determined to secure a brilliant marriage for her beautiful sister and seeks out their distant cousin, the Marquis of Alverstoke, for his society connections. Frederica makes such a strong impression that to his own amazement, the Marquis agrees to help. Normally wary of his family, Lord Alverstoke does his best to keep his word while keeping his distance. But with his enterprising – and altogether entertaining – country cousins getting into one scrape after another, before he knows it the Marquis finds himself dangerously embroiled.
To Have the Honor (novella): Young Lord Allerton returns home from the Napoleonic Wars to find his father has left the family bankrupt. His mother's solution: marry his wealthy cousin. But the Viscount would sooner have his beloved Harriet marry whom she chooses than be reduced to accepting a proposal from his financially compromised position.

About the author
Georgette Heyer
238 books5,796 followersGeorgette Heyer was a prolific historical romance and detective fiction novelist. Her writing career began in 1921, when she turned a story for her younger brother into the novel The Black Moth.
In 1925 she married George Ronald Rougier, a mining engineer. Rougier later became a barrister and he often provided basic plot outlines for her thrillers. Beginning in 1932, Heyer released one romance novel and one thriller each year.
Heyer was an intensely private person who remained a best selling author all her life without the aid of publicity. She made no appearances, never gave an interview and only answered fan letters herself if they made an interesting historical point. She wrote one novel using the pseudonym Stella Martin.
Her Georgian and Regencies romances were inspired by Jane Austen. While some critics thought her novels were too detailed, others considered the level of detail to be Heyer's greatest asset.
Heyer remains a popular and much-loved author, known for essentially establishing the historical romance genre and its subgenre Regency romance.

This Kindle bundle has three of Georgette Heyer's most well-known novels: The Grand Sophy, Arabella, and Frederica, along with a so-so novella, “A Matter of Honour.” Those really are three of her best novels (except Venetia should be included. But I digress.).
These three novels shouldn't be missed if you're a Georgette Heyer fan or are interested in checking her out. They're old-fashioned Regencies, but with the emphasis more on witty dialogue, interesting characters and the occasional farcical comedy scene, than the actual romance part. So set your expectations accordingly.

Frederica and Arabella are perfection. The Grand Sophy is marred by anti-Semitism, which is quite unfortunate as everything else about the book is awesome.

For Historical Romance Lovers !
No one beats Georgette Heyer when it comes to Historical Romance. Her Regency stories are in a class all their own. She drops you into a world of Balls, Routs, silks and satin, humor and dialog right out of the 1700's.
She also proves an author need not fill the pages with graphic sexual content or language that belongs in the gutter to make a story enjoyable.
Every romance lover ( of all genres) must read Georgette Heyer at least once. The reader will ,I am convinced, will learn what a well-written ,and well-edited book is like especially when compared to some of today's sloppily self-published, and self-edited books.

Satisfying read !
It's always enjoyable to read one of Georgette Heyer' s books. I've reread all of her books multiple times. Each time is as enjoyable as the one before. Her characters seem to come alive as you read. The underlying humor is delightful. Right now I'm in the process of rereading all of her books again!

Great stories
I enjoyed reading Ms. Heyer’s novels as a teen 50 years ago. I’m glad to say that I enjoyed them just as much reading them again in my late 60’s.

I am addicted to Ms. Heyer's novels at this point. I think all of these were super and there's a short story at the end.

The author tends to describe the fashion more than I care for.
However, I do like her spunky character in each book.

Better than Austen!
What a joy - and it will exercise even broad and deep vocabulary! You'll enjoy these cheerful capers and the time in the Regency era.
